QRCS plans to implement Adahi drive in 14 countries this year
Tribune News Network Doha Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has announced the launch of Adahi Campaign 2025/1446 AH, with a licence from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA). Under the slogan 'Udhiyah Is Blessing', this seasonal project is aimed at delivering Udhiya sacrificial meat to poor families during Eid Al-Adha, with a view to promoting human unity and social solidarity. Every year since 2017, QRCS has been implementing the Adahi campaign, designed to enable the public to observe the ritual Udhiya sacrifice offering. Upon receiving the donations, QRCS ensures the delivery of the meat of donated Udhiya sacrificial animals to those in need, in cooperation with local and international partners. This year's campaign involves 14 countries — Qatar, Jordan, Syria, Palestine (Gaza), Yemen, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Djibouti, Sudan, Niger, Chad, Tanzania, and Somalia. All necessary arrangements have been made to receive donations for the available sacrificial sheep, goats, and cows. Then, the donated sacrificial animals will be secured during the project's duration, and the slaughter process will be carried out in accordance with health regulations and within the Shariah-specified timeframe. The meat will be distributed as food rations to 271,000 most vulnerable beneficiaries. Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, secretary-general of QRCS, congratulated all Muslims around the world for this religious occasion.

QRCS launches campaign to deliver Udhiya sacrificial meat to poor families during Eid Al Adha
DOHA: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has announced the launch of Adahi Campaign 2025/1446 AH, with a license from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA). Under the slogan 'Udhiyah Is Blessing', this seasonal project is aimed at delivering Udhiya sacrificial meat to the poorest families during Eid Al Adha, with a view to promoting human unity and social solidarity. A QRCS statement said that all necessary arrangements have been made to receive donations for the available sacrificial sheep, goats, and cows. Then, the donated sacrificial animals will be secured during the project's duration, and the slaughter process will be carried out in accordance with health regulations and within the Shariah-specified timeframe. Lastly, the meat will be distributed as food rations to 271,000 most vulnerable beneficiaries. Secretary-General of QRCS Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi explained that this campaign was part of QRCS's ongoing efforts to support poor communities and meet their needs during specific seasons of charity, eagerly awaited by hundreds of thousands of poor people, especially in countries suffering from the scourge of displacement and refugee influx due to disasters and crises. He emphasized that the campaign would be implemented up to the highest standards of quality and transparency, expressing thanks to RACA and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs for their effective role in making this campaign happen and facilitating all administrative and organizing procedures, while thanking everyone who helped them bring the joy of Eid to the hearts of those in need during such a spiritual religious time. In response to the harsh humanitarian conditions experienced by the people of Gaza, a special section of the campaign involves the donation of one whole cow (equal to seven sacrificial shares) for only QR 3,360. The slaughter process will take place during the four days of Eid Al Adha, and the meat will be canned for easy preservation, transportation, and storage. This will help maintain the quality and shelf life of the canned meat until access to the blockade is possible. QRCS, Lebanon's social affairs ministry launch ‘Road to Stability' drive phase 2
Tribune News Network Doha With funding from Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Lebanon's Ministry of Social Affairs, phase 2 of the 'Road to Stability'—an initiative aimed at supporting the poorest Lebanese families affected by the recent war on Lebanon—has been launched. The overall purpose of the project is to enhance the financial stability of the most vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian families in Lebanon. Earlier, phase 1 had been completed for the benefit of Syrian refugee families in Lebanon, in collaboration with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). This newly launched phase, which focuses on the affected Lebanese families, is funded by QFFD and implemented in partnership with Lebanon's Ministry of Social Affairs. Based on regular assessments and surveys conducted by the ministry to identify the most affected people, 3,325 Lebanese families were selected to receive monthly cash aid for three months. It is another episode of the constructive collaboration between QRCS and Lebanon's Ministry of Social Affairs as part of the country's social safety net programmes, designed to empower the families most in need and enhance their resilience. The launch of phase 2 was held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon. During the ceremony, the participants expressed their hope that this cooperation would serve as an effective model for unified humanitarian efforts, thanks to the generous support from QFFD and close coordination among Lebanon's Ministry of Social Affairs, QRCS, and other humanitarian partners in Lebanon. In his keynote speech on behalf of QFFD, HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said, 'This project comes at a time when Lebanon is experiencing critical circumstances, which entails lending a hand for the country to come through the recent crises and wars. The project's name indicates the importance of stability sought by all the Lebanese people, as well as Qatar's keenness to preserve it with unlimited support, for Lebanon to further pursue progress and recovery.' Hanin Al-Sayed, Lebanon's Minister of Social Affairs, stated, 'I would like to express my deep appreciation to QRCS, which has always been committed to professional and dignity-respecting humanitarianism. We owe a debt of gratitude to QFFD and the government and people of Qatar for this significant contribution, which is a testimony to the humanitarian, social, economic, and developmental ties between our two nations'. Mohamed Ahmed Al-Beshri, assistant secretary-general for communication and fundraising at QRCS, commented, 'This project is not just a technical intervention or financial support. It is a true manifestation of our humanitarian and fraternal responsibility towards the families who suffer from harsh living conditions. Human dignity is indivisible. QRCS augments refugee shelters in Bangladesh
Tribune News Network Doha In collaboration with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), the representation mission of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) in Bangladesh has announced the completion of a two-year project to improve shelter conditions at the camps of forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals in Bangladesh. On the last day of the project, 508 nonfood aid parcels were distributed to refugee families in the camps of Cox's Bazar to meet their basic needs and improve their living conditions. The parcels contained kitchenware, straw mats, and solar-powered lighting systems. Among the major achievements are: (1) construction of 1,678 medium-term shelters to ensure safe housing for 8,390 individuals; (2) maintenance of 302 existing shelters, for the benefit of 1,510 persons, to ensure the continuity and validity of infrastructure; (3) distribution of 1,715 nonfood items (NFIs) parcels to improve the everyday lives of beneficiaries; and (4) creation of a humanitarian aid distribution center at Camp#19 to serve approximately 22,000 individuals, helping to implement more efficient relief operations. The project set an effective example of sustainable humanitarian response, helping preserve the dignity of refugee families and tangibly improving their living environment. Through this and other interventions, QRCS reiterates its unwavering commitment to supporting refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in crisis zones, as well as providing solutions that preserve their dignity and meet their basic needs, within a comprehensive approach focused on sustainability and strengthening resilience in the face of mounting challenges.
