Once school friends, Himanshu Bhau and Ankit, both from Ritoli village, turned against each other in 2019 following a dispute over a private bus and a car, according to villagers.
Ankit's associate Hansraj purchased a bus and sought security from Himanshu's gang to manage scuffles during operations. In return, Himanshu demanded a car, which was purchased on loan using documents from Ankit's family. When EMIs defaulted, the car was asked to be returned, but Himanshu's gang refused, and hostilities escalated.
In 2019, Himanshu shot at Ankit's brother Sunny during a stadium altercation. Arrested, Himanshu fled from a juvenile home. Ankit, in retaliation, expanded his gang and began targeting Himanshu's allies, sparking a series of revenge killings and extortion rackets.
On March 2, 2022, Ankit's gang killed Himanshu's cousin Rohit alias Bajrang. Another villager, Rajender, was also shot dead when he tried to intervene.
In retaliation, Himanshu's men murdered Ankit's associate Hansraj just five days later. Himanshu, by then operating under the alias "Bhau" fled India on a fake passport and is currently residing in the US, still orchestrating operations remotely.
Ankit and his brother Sunny are in jail but reportedly continue to run their gang from behind bars. The latest killing of Ankit's uncle Anil, who was involved in earlier criminal surveillance, was allegedly carried out on Himanshu's orders, according to local sources.

Both gangs have lost two members each in this turf war.
The Bhau gang reportedly controls half of Ritoli village and has operatives across states, while the Baba gang comprises 25–30 members in the village and over 150 in surrounding regions. Locals, terrified, now refrain from speaking openly about the feud.

Panchayati land auction sparks unrest in Patiala village
Patiala: Farmers belonging to Bathoi Kalan in Patiala district on Wednesday staged a protest at the Patiala BDPO office in an effort to halt the ongoing auction process of panchayati land within the village. During the protest, a minor clash also erupted between two groups from the village, which included Dalits and the farmers currently cultivating the panchayati land. Secretary, BKU (Ekta Ugrahan), Patiala, Balraj Joshi explained that the village possesses a total of 603 acres of panchayati land. This land has been under cultivation by the farmers for several decades. However, the district administration now intends to allocate this land to the members of the SC community living in the village. Joshi said those who had been tilling the land were opposed to this move, leading to a petition being filed in the Punjab and Haryana high court. According to Balraj: "The high court has stayed over 450 acres of this panchayati land, but more than 80 acres of agricultural land did not receive a stay due to technical issues experienced during the filing of the petition. The administration has now attempted to auction this land with the aim of distributing it to the SC community members and subsequently to corporate houses." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Alarme c/ Câmera Mais moderna do Mercado por até 40% Off Verisure Saiba Mais Undo BDPO Sukhwinder Singh Tiwana said: "The auction of nearly 98 acres of panchayati land was being held when some villagers along with farmer union members started to oppose the move. Out of 603 acres, 98 acres land was not under stay of the high court. We wanted to auction these 98 acres of which 1/3rd share was supposed to be given to the SC community members in the village as per law. Those who have illegally occupied the panchayati land are opposing this auction. " MSID:: 121626566 413 |

Dalit youth thrashed in Rajasthan for drinking water from pot, three held
JAIPUR: In a shocking case of caste-based discrimination, a Dalit youth was allegedly abused and beaten in Rajasthan's Nagaur district for drinking water from a pot kept outside a grocery shop. The incident took place on Sunday evening in Kantia village under Khinvsar subdivision. The victim, Omprakash Meghwal, a resident of Aau village, had stopped near the shop with a friend while on his way to a relative's function. He used a metal tumbler (lota) to drink water from a pot placed outside the store. Soon after, the shop owner Kaluram Jat and two others — Narsiram and another man also named Omprakash had asked him his name and caste. When they found out that he belonged to a Scheduled Caste, they allegedly shouted casteist abuses, beat him up, and threatened to kill him. Omprakash said he tried to clean the pot with sand to calm them down, but the men continued to assault and humiliate him. Scared, he ran and took shelter at a relative's house. Later that night, around 11:30 p.m., the accused allegedly returned in a camper vehicle, circled the locality several times, and dragged the vehicle's tyres in an apparent attempt to intimidate the residents. The act reportedly caused panic among the largely poor Dalit families in the area. Omprakash filed a police complaint the next day. A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Rampratap Vishnoi visited the village, but the accused had already fled. After searches, police detained all three. Nagaur SP Narayan Togas said they have been booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other charges. A detailed probe is on. The victim's family claimed that police initially tried to ignore the case. Police officials remained tight-lipped even as the incident began gaining traction on social media. Even on Tuesday, local police avoided giving clear answers when asked by reporters. Action was taken only after mounting public pressure and the video went viral. The incident has triggered widespread outrage. Azad Samaj Party chief and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad strongly condemned the attack, calling it a grim reminder of entrenched caste discrimination in India. 'In Kantia village, Dalit youths were abused, humiliated, and forced to clean utensils just for drinking water. This isn't a mere dispute—it's a reflection of systemic, centuries-old hatred,' he said. 'Does a Dalit still not have the right to drink water?' This incident is similar to a 2022 case in Jalore, where a Dalit student was beaten to death by a schoolteacher for drinking water from a pot meant for upper castes.
