The center advised residents of the area to "get out of the water, stay away from beaches, and clear away from ports, marinas, sea barriers, bays, and inlets."
According to preliminary information, no tsunami warnings were issued for remote areas, according to the Tsunami Warning Center in Alaska.

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck Monday off eastern Indonesia, the US Geological Survey said, but a monitor said there was no tsunami threat.
