Television actress Shivani Gosain, known for her roles in shows like 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay" and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii," has opened up about her two failed marriages. In an exclusive interview with IANS, the veteran actress reflected on a statement she once made, calling marriage a mistake. While Shivani clarified she isn't against the institution of marriage itself, she acknowledged that her own journey was marked by unfortunate decisions. The actress also revealed that she endured significant physical, mental, emotional, and social harassment during her marriages.
'For me, it was a terrible experience. I'm not anti-marriage—everyone has their own destiny. I believe in karma, destiny, and God. But in my case, I made poor choices. I had two failed marriages and faced a lot of physical, mental, emotional, and even social harassment. There's still a criminal case going on, so I can't say much. But it was a nightmare that pushed me into a shell, personally and professionally. It took me a long time to recover," shared Shivani Gosain.
Speaking about her iconic shows like 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii" and 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay," she recalled how these shows became a part of people's daily lives. 'Back then, we didn't have social media or camera phones, but people still recognised us, stopped us on the streets, and clicked pictures. We went on shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati and met fans everywhere. Those days were magical. TRPs were soaring, sometimes above 26! Today, people are happy with just 0.1. That era was golden, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it."
Gosain also reflected on her decade-long journey in the industry and expressed that, as an actor, she enjoys doing work that is challenging and performance-oriented, be it in mythological shows, fiction, fantasy, web series, or television. 'I look for roles that push me and offer something substantial to do," she said.
The veteran TV actress has also appeared in shows like Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu, Saraswatichandra, Rang Badalti Odhani, Love U Zindagi, Piya Ka Ghar Pyaara Lage, and Choti Sarrdaarni. ‘Class and decency aren't his strengths,' ‘Always resort to personal attacks': Kaneria slams Pakistan teammate Afridi, backs Irfan Pathan

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has voiced his support for ex-India cricketer Irfan Pathan when he opened up on his heated exchange with former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi. The all-rounder from Baroda divulged that Afridi often tried to provoke him with sharp remarks and personal comments while highlighting some of the intense moments they shared both on and off the field. Coming in Irfan's support is Afridi's teammate in the Pakistan cricket team, Kaneria, who said Afridi has always resorted to 'personal attacks' and that 'class and decency are not his strengths'. 'Irfan bhai, you're absolutely right. He always resorts to personal attacks, be it on someone's family or their religion. Class and decency clearly aren't his strengths,' Kaneria posted on X, formerly Twitter. Earlier, Pathan narrated an incident from the 2006 Pakistan tour, when both the Indian and Pakistani teams were flying together from Karachi to Lahore. 'During the 2006 tour, we were flying from Karachi to Lahore. Both teams were travelling together. Afridi came and put his hand on my head and messed up my hair. He asked me, 'How are you kid?'' Pathan recalled during the interview with Lallantop. 'I thought since when did you become my father. He behaved like a child. I was neither talking to him nor saying anything. After this Afridi said some bad things to me. His seat was near mine.' Irfan explained how he responded, which silenced Afridi for the rest of the flight. 'Pakistan allrounder Abdul Razzaq was sitting with me then. I asked him what kind of meat is available here. He told me meat of different animals are available. After this I asked whether dog meat is available. Razzaq was surprised to hear me and said, 'Hey Irfan why are you saying this?' To this, Pathan replied: ''He (Afridi) has eaten dog meat, he has been barking for so long'. 'After this Afridi could not say anything. If he said anything I would have said look he is barking more,' recalled Pathan with a chuckle.
