Earlier today, cardinal electors were sequestered in the Sistine Chapel to cast their votes for the next Pope following the death of Pope Francis.
As a part of the process, known as a conclave, the cardinals are completely cut off from the world in an attempt to keep the election fair and free of outside influence.
During a segment about the conclave, one of Dokoupil's cohosts says, "The one thing we know they're not doing is checking Instagram because their devices have all been confiscated."
Dokoupil jumps in at that point, remarking, "I believe the kids call it 'rawdogging' it, if you're going to go through a long period of time with no electronic device."
If your ears perked up, it's likely because you know "rawdogging" is widely used slang referring to having unprotected sex.
So yeah! The cardinals are rawdogging the conclave. Welcome to 2025.

Federal officials confirmed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids took place in Ventura County on Tuesday. 'FBI Los Angeles and partner agencies conducted immigration enforcement operations in the Ventura County area today in support of ERO Los Angeles,' the agency announced on X. In response, local congressmembers Julia Brownley (D-Ventura County) and Salud Carbajal (D-Santa Barbara/San Luis Obispo counties) released a joint statement, calling the recent immigration sweeps 'cruel,' 'reckless' and 'unconscionable.' 'We have received disturbing reports of ICE enforcement actions in Ventura County, including in Oxnard, Port Hueneme, and Camarillo, where agents have reportedly stopped vehicles, loitered near schools, and attempted to enter agricultural properties and facilities in the Oxnard Plain,' read the statement. 'These actions are completely unjustified, deeply harmful, and raise serious questions about the agency's tactics and its respect for due process.' Out of multiple videos posted on social media earlier in the day, one shared to Instagram by 805 UndocuFund, a nonprofit that helps undocumented residents get short-term financial relief, shows ICE agents questioning a worker with a bright yellow shirt next to the Camarillo fields along Laguna Road. The group is standing next to a black, unmarked vehicle; it is unclear whether the car belonged to the unidentified worker or the federal officers. 'Hola?' the woman filming the interaction asks the group from afar, inquiring in Spanish about what the federal officers are doing with the worker. This purportedly took place at 5:30 a.m. 'Mind your own business,' an ICE officer responds to the woman, telling her to stay back. 'They know their right, they've been here for 30 years, they get it. We're doing our job.' The woman responds, saying, 'We don't want people to be separated from their families—I don't think you get it,' to which the officer replies, 'Are you here legally?' She asks back, 'How are you asking me that right now?' and he responds, 'Because that's my job, I'm an immigration officer. Do you have documents to be here?' When the woman says she doesn't have to answer his question, the ICE agent says, 'Fine, so, leave—you're right.' And then he and the other officers go back to detaining the worker. The Central Coast congressmembers addressed in their statement how immigration officers have recently been targeting open-air workplaces, such as farms, construction sites and service industries. 'ICE should be focused on individuals who pose real threats to public safety, not terrorizing entire communities with broad, unjust sweeps,' their statement said. A team of experienced prosecutors will be analyzing police reports starting today in an attempt to find the protestors who assaulted and vandalized public property. 'You want to put officers' lives in danger, damage public property, we are going to hold you accountable,' District Attorney Nathan Hochman told NBC Los Angeles. The investigation will utilize social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to track video evidence of the crimes committed. 'You have the ability to track down some of those who committed those crimes,' Hochman said. 'We can track these posts down to a real person. It might take us a while, but we will get there.' Despite being a minority of the thousands of peaceful protestors, the group of people who destroyed, looted, and vandalized our city will not go without punishment. Hochman suggests that the consequences will be more than simply a 'slap on the wrist,' and his office must enforce the law to the fullest estimated 72 people were arrested over the weekend, but there are more to be made. "Everything from vandalism, felony vandalism charges, assaulting police officers. We saw a whole bunch of stores that were being looted as part of this. People just took the opportunity to go ahead and break into stores and take everything they wanted. So, burglary, robbery charges could also potentially be brought," Hochman said to ABC News. "Any violent offenses that have been engaged in -- people are looking at years of state prison time for these criminal violations."The DA will also be tracking who is considered a 'professional agitator,' with prior cases of violent demonstrations. Hochman says this is not a 'catch and release' mission. These individuals will face serious charges. Hochman stands by people's right to participate in peaceful protests, but he wants to dissuade those participating from resorting to violence. This story was originally reported by L.A. Los Angeles has become a focus of the national news lately as protests against the rising number of immigration raids being carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement have grown larger. 300 National Guard troops have already been deployed to the city, and President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of around 700 Marines to join them in trying to control the protesters, NBC News reports. Protesters have reported being hit with rubber bullets and stun grenades, among other "less lethal" weapons being fired and deployed by the police and National Guard. At least 56 people have been arrested, per NBC News. During a recent protest, a man went viral for calling out the National Guard troops that were deployed to Los Angeles to help quell the protests. "You feel tough with your assault rifles and your sticks, you should be standing here with us. You're on the wrong side of history. We know you've got a job to do, but you took an oath to the Constitution, not to the fascists in the White House," the man in the video says, standing up to the troops. "Think about what you're doing now. Think about what this means. Coming into our community, a peaceful fucking community, people working their jobs. They send in men in military fatigues with weapons of war into our community! And you stand here and you allow it." The man featured in the video continues, "I am sick and tired of it. You should be sick and tired of it. Do you think any of the people in the White House sending you these commands give a fuck about you? Not one of them do; they laugh at you. Our president laughs at you. He called you fools. He said the people who died overseas in the military were chumps. That's who you are defending right now." "Think about your place in history, ladies and gentlemen. Ask yourselves when you wake up tomorrow, I don't know if you have kids. Ask yourself, the future you want for your kids, is it this?" he concludes. It turns out that man is Aaron Fisher, @aaronjfisher89 on Instagram, and he is a staunch LGBTQIA ally! Now, Fisher (not to be confused with Marvel Comics's character Aaron Fischer, the gay Captain America, although this Fisher is a hero in his own right) is going viral online! Many of the comments celebrate Fisher's version of manhood and masculinity, praising him for standing up for what is right. "He's so hot for that. This is the energy we need from men," @becadidmyhair commented on Courier's post of the video. "When we say masculine energy, this is what we mean!" added @roseychey21. "How beautiful and sexy is a man that protects and stands up for others. This is the energy!" @queenelliez wrote. Instagram user @lorisinsta11 asked, "did this guy keep getting hotter and hotter the more he spoke, was it just me?" Based on all the other comments, she is far from alone in that opinion.
