Nebraska to host offensive tackle next month
Nebraska football will host 2026 offensive lineman Leon Noil Jr. on April 26, Rivals.com's Sam Spiegelman reported on Thursday.
Noil Jr. is the 17th overall player in the state of Louisiana and the 65th overall offensive tackle and his class, per the rivals.com rankings. He is a three-star recruit.
In addition to Nebraska, he will take several campus trips. He will visit Mississippi State on March 22, Houston on March 29, UCF on April 3, Baylor on April 12, and Oklahoma State on April 19. He will wrap up his visits with a final stop in Lincoln. Noil Jr. measures six feet five inches and weighs 270 pounds.
The Huskers have been scheduling visits with offensive linemen over the last couple of classes. However, the Huskers currently do not have an offensive line commitment in the 2026 class, which ranks 44th overall nationally with three commitments, per the 247Sports Rankings.
The Huskers certainly have several capable linemen on the roster already. However, additional depth is important, especially for future classes. Scheduling multiple visits with multiple prospects is a smart strategy, especially at a position that is placed at a premium.

Calls to Boycott 2026 World Cup Surge After Trump-FIFA Scandal and New Travel Ban
Calls to Boycott 2026 World Cup Surge After Trump-FIFA Scandal and New Travel Ban originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Trump's newly announced travel ban has increased further the calls for a Boycott of the 2026 World Cup. Advertisement Though the ban comes with an exemption that could apply to players, staff or associated family members participating in the tournament, Democrats are calling the move "reckless" and "discriminatory" with fears that it will lead to chaos and confusion with regards to the US's hosting of events including the World Cup, the Club World Cup and the Olympics. The exemption states that the following are not subject to the ban" "Any athlete or member of an athletic team, including coaches, persons performing a necessary supporting role, and immediate relatives, traveling for the World Cup, Olympics, or any other major sporting event as determined by the secretary of state" Infantino Cosying Up To Trump Last month FIFA President Gianni Infantino skipped his own congress to meet with Donald Trump in Qatar and Saudi Arabia - sparking a walkout by European officials. That move triggered the previously unthinkable notion of a boycott. Critics say the relationship between Trump and Infantino highlights corruption and deep ties to authoritarian regimes, with UEFA accusing Infantino of abusing power for political gain. Advertisement Qatar hosted the last World Cup and even more controversially, Saudi Arabia won the bid to host the 2034 World Cup unopposed. Minky Worden, the director of global initiatives at Human Rights Watch said that Infantino's trip was indicative of the lack of "meaningful accountability" at the highest level of soccer and called on him "to detail precisely what it achieved for football and human rights". Fans Fear The Worst The controversy comes on top of fears that Trump's hardline immigration policies will deter fans from traveling to the US after recent detention horror stories from tourists. Others have mocked Infantino and Trump for sharing three key traits - a love of money; a thirst for power; and rampant narcissism. Advertisement There's no word yet on whether Qatar is also giving Infantino a $400 million plane, but would it surprise anyone if they were? UEFA meanwhile accused Infantino of pursuing "private political interests" ahead of his responsibility to football. Angry statements have little to no affect on the way that Infantino and/or Trump behave. That's why increasingly people are calling for more radical action and to hit Trump and Infantino where it hurts: their wallet. That includes a partial boycott of the 2026 World Cup, with countries refusing to play games in the US, and insisting all matches switch to co-hosts Canada and Mexico. Nebraska coach Matt Rhule: QB Dylan Raiola 'could have taken the easy way out' and entered transfer portal
According to Nebraska coach Matt Rhule, QB Dylan Raiola was a hot commodity among other schools this offseason. In a Tuesday appearance on the Jim Rome Show, Rhule said that 'everyone' reached out to Raiola after his freshman season with the Huskers. Those inquiries could have been a reason why Raiola posted to social media in December that he was 'all-in' at Nebraska. 'He is in such a good place,' Rhule said of Raiola. 'He's got so many eyes on him. He's got the weight and pressure of an entire fanbase — an entire state — of a blue blood like Nebraska. First year, you come in, to me, if you're a big-time recruit, it's about learning how to handle the pressure. Learning how to handle the frustrating moments. I think he did that really well. Highs and lows. He finished the year on a real uptick.' 'And everyone reached out to him. He could have taken the easy way out and left and gone into the portal and gone to someplace where he could start over where he doesn't have to do as much himself. But he chose to stick it out and fight. He came back and I've been excited to see where he's at.' Advertisement Raiola was the top pro style QB in the class of 2024 and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Georgia. He originally committed to Georgia but flipped and signed with Nebraska in December of 2023 to play at the same school where his father Dominic and uncle Donovan were offensive linemen. He was also the highest-ranked recruit to sign for Nebraska in at least two decades. Raiola started right away for the Huskers in 2024 and showed flashes in his first season. Over 13 games, he was 275-of-410 passing for 2,819 yards with 13 TDs and 11 interceptions. After three multi-TD games over the first four games of his college career, Raiola threw just five touchdown passes over nine games the rest of the season.
