
Dispute grows over temple's management

CONTROVERSY is brewing between Malaysia Hindu Sangam and a temple in Kelana Jaya, with accusations of mismanagement and police reports lodged, Tamil Malar reported.
Sri Sakthi Easwari Temple's former committee chairman Selvam Paramasivam said he has filed a police report.
Selvam said MHS president T. Ganesan, when speaking at a function in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, had allegedly accused him and his committee of defrauding the temple of RM3mil.
This accusation, which was made in front of about 750 people from the community, is completely baseless and has damaged his reputation, added Selvam.
He and committee members filed a report at the Petaling Jaya police station over the accusation.

The raid, which took place in Bandar Tasik Selatan, Cheras, on Thursday, involved the elite Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Anti-Corruption Tactical Squad (ACTS). The ACTS team was called in to provide security after the MACC received information that a secret room believed to contain valuables and weapons was located within the premises. 'The ACTS team was deployed to ensure the safety of MACC officers and to escort seized items back to the commission's headquarters in Putrajaya,' the MACC's strategic communications division said yesterday. Among the items seized during the search were 84 luxury handbags valued at RM3mil, 11 branded wristwatches estimated at RM1mil, and high-end liquor worth approximately RM5mil. The commission also confiscated gold bars, coins and figurines estimated to be worth RM3mil, as well as diamonds and other jewellery worth RM4mil. MACC officers also discovered a luxury-brand casino game set, believed to be worth RM150,000. The raid also uncovered a hidden, fortified room used for storing weapons and ammunition. However, no seizures were made as the firearms were registered under a private security firm owned by the Tan Sri. MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that the total value of the items seized during the operation was about RM16mil. He said further seizures could follow as investigations continue. 'The statement-taking process for the individual has been postponed to a later date due to health concerns,' he added. So far, the MACC have recorded the statements of 53 witnesses. On June 3, the MACC disclosed that it had seized assets worth around RM143mil linked to the case.

Yesterday (12th June 2025, Thursday), news reports revealed that a Chinese woman had tried to break into the home of BTS' Jungkook (방탄소년단 정국). The news sparked outrage amongst fans, but new footage of the incident angered them even more. Earlier today (13th June 2025, Wednesday), news outlets revealed CCTV footage of the woman who attempted the break-in at Jungkook's residence in Yongsan-gu. According to previous reports, the woman is a Chinese national in her thirties who allegedly travelled to South Korea for the BTS members' recent military discharge. She was arrested after trying to enter the idol's home on the night of his discharge date. In the now-viral footage, the woman could be seen in front of the singer's home, pacing around by the door. She was also seen holding a suitcase and repeatedly pressing on the keypad of the electronic door lock. Her suspicious actions sparked concern from Jungkook's neighbours, who reported the incident to the police. The footage also showed the moment the police arrived at the scene to arrest the woman. There are no reports on the woman's motive for the break-in attempt. However, it's believed the woman was an obsessive fan who wanted to approach the star upon his discharge from the military. Netizens and ARMYs have reacted to the CCTV footage, mostly condemning the woman's actions. Many also expressed outrage over the situation, noting how scary it must've been for Jungkook. Understandably, the incident also sparked debate over how vulnerable K-pop idols are to stalkers. Given their popularity, the group members are repeat victims of stalking and have had their privacy invaded many times in the past, including having personal information leaked online. Many fans called for BTS' agency, HYBE, to take serious action against stalkers and protect the members from harm. As of writing, there are no updates on the woman. Thailand's special investigation team sends Chinese suspect in SAO building collapse to prosecutor
BANGKOK: The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) sent Wu Binglin, a suspect in the collapse of the State Audit Office (SAO) building, to the public prosecutor on Thursday (June 12). Wu Binglin, a Chinese executive from China Railway No 10 (Thailand), was one of the individuals involved in the construction of the building that collapsed in Bangkok's Chatuchak district following an earthquake on March 28. In the wake of the incident, the DSI charged six individuals in relation to the violation of the Foreign Business Act (nominee arrangements). Wu Binglin was reportedly taken into custody by the DSI's Special Investigation team after he voluntarily surrendered. He was charged with violating regulations on foreign nationals conducting business in Thailand, which prevents foreign entities from engaging in certain business activities where Thai citizens are not yet competitive, without proper authorisation. Additionally, he faced charges of assisting or supporting foreign nationals in carrying out such business activities. - The Nation/ANN
