Collector B.M. Santhosh Directs Timely Completion of Indiramma Housing and Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Beneficiary Selection
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santhosh has instructed officials to complete the selection of beneficiaries under the Indiramma Housing Scheme in accordance with the assigned targets. He emphasized the need for timely action and transparency during a review meeting held on Friday at the IDOC Conference Hall. The meeting focused on the progress of the Indiramma Housing Scheme and the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam initiative.
During the meeting, the Collector stressed that houses under the Indiramma scheme must be allotted strictly to eligible beneficiaries as per government guidelines. He instructed officials to finalize the selection of beneficiaries on a gram panchayat-wise basis without further delay. A comprehensive list should be prepared, clearly indicating the number of houses allotted, the number of eligible beneficiaries identified, and the number of rejections made.
Furthermore, he directed that reasons for rejection must also be documented and included in the list. MPDOs were advised to coordinate with designated special officers to complete the field verification of the Indiramma houses.
Accelerate Application Review for Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme: Collector's Directive
The Collector also instructed that the review process for applications under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme should be expedited. He emphasized that the selection process must be conducted with complete transparency, strictly adhering to government norms and prioritization guidelines.
Each application should be thoroughly scrutinized, and only genuinely eligible candidates must be selected. He also stressed the importance of coordination between district officials and bankers to effectively achieve the set targets.

Indiramma houses for urban poor with G+3 model: Ponguleti
Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Friday said that the government would take up construction of Indiramma Houses in the urban areas of the state with G+3 floors without affecting their livelihood. The Housing Minister had a review meeting with the officials on Friday. The Minister said that with the aim of fulfilling the dream of the poor to have their own house, the state government has launched the construction of Indiramma Houses which has almost ended in the rural areas. He said that the focus now has been shifted on the construction of Indiramma Houses in urban areas as well. The Minister said that he poor living in the slums of the cities prefer to stay there, as they were not interested in houses, especially if they are built far from Hyderabad, as it would affect their livelihood. In the past, 42,000 houses were built far from Hyderabad, but only about 19,000 people moved there. He said that a recent field survey revealed that only 13,000 people were living in those houses. Taking all these factors into consideration, it has been decided to construct Indiramma Indlu in urban areas, mainly in the slums of Hyderabad city, where the poor are present, using the G+3 method. As part of this, 16 slums were identified in Hyderabad in the first phase. He said that work was being done to implement the same system in other cities like Warangal, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Karimnagar. Srinivasa Reddy said that for the tribals who have been without shelter for years, 13,266 Indiramma houses were sanctioned to Chenchu, Kolam, Thoti and Kondared in the four ITDA areas of Bhadrachalam, Utnoor, Eturunagaram and Munnanur. He also said that 8,750 houses were already sanctioned to the 16 ST constituencies in the state. With this, 22,016 Indiramma houses were sanctioned to the tribals so far. The Minister directed the officials to take steps to immediately identify the beneficiaries of these houses and start the construction. He asked the officials to continuously monitor the construction of houses in line with the government's goal of being more proactive in sanctioning and constructing Indiramma houses. He said that no state government in the country has spent Rs 5 lakh for the houses of the poor, and that the goal of this government was to construct and provide Indiramma houses to every eligible person in the state as promised in the elections, and the authorities should work accordingly.

Mahabubnagar: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, speaking at a public meeting in Nawabpet following the inauguration of new 33/11 kV substations in Jadcherla constituency, underscored the Telangana government's strategic efforts to meet the growing power demand and position the state for future energy needs. Addressing concerns raised by political opponents before the elections about possible power shortages under Congress rule, the Deputy CM asserted that the state is now moving beyond mere uninterrupted supply towards achieving surplus electricity generation. Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted the remarkable increase in Telangana's electricity demand as a positive indicator of industrial growth and rising living standards. He pointed out that during the last year of TRS governance in March 2023, the peak power demand was 15,497 megawatts. However, under Congress administration, by March 2025, this figure rose sharply to 17,162 megawatts, an increase of nearly 2,000 megawatts. Despite this surge, he proudly stated, there has not been a single interruption in power supply. Looking ahead, the Deputy CM revealed that by 2035, Telangana's power demand is projected to reach 33,775 megawatts. To meet this anticipated growth, the government has already laid out comprehensive plans to expand production capacity and enhance distribution infrastructure, ensuring that the state's energy supply keeps pace with its development goals. He emphasized the vital role that reliable and abundant power plays in attracting global investors, affirming that Telangana is well-equipped to provide industry and businesses with the electricity required to compete on the world stage. The Deputy CM further reiterated that no external conspiracy can halt Telangana's rise, emphasizing that only a government focused on people's welfare can ensure sustainable development. Addressing welfare schemes, Bhatti Vikramarka noted that 90 lakh families are currently benefiting from government programs such as free 200 units of electricity per household and subsidized fine rice distribution, policies that are unique to Telangana in the country. He highlighted increased diet allowances for schoolchildren, extensive fee reimbursements for higher education, and free healthcare coverage up to ₹10 lakh under the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme. Youth unemployment is being tackled through government job recruitment and self-employment initiatives under the 'Rajiv Yuva Vikasam' program. The Deputy CM also reaffirmed the government's commitment to farmers by noting direct loan waivers for those with loans up to ₹2 lakh, cash support of ₹12,000 under Rythu Bharosa, and similar assistance for landless agricultural laborers. Housing support is extended to the homeless with ₹5 lakh grants, while monthly pensions are disbursed to the elderly and widows. He proudly mentioned that promises made during the pre-election 'People's March' padayatra, such as ₹70 crore compensation for farmers affected by the Udandapur reservoir project, are being fulfilled promptly under the Congress government. Bhatti Vikramarka also took a strong stand against the previous TRS government's record, accusing it of symbolic gestures without real progress, citing that irrigation projects like Palamuru-Rangareddy, initiated in 2015, failed to deliver water to even a single acre despite a decade passing. Bhatti Vikramarka Vows to Turn Palamuru's Drylands Green with Timely Completion of Lift Irrigation Project
Mahabubnagar: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated the Telangana government's firm commitment to completing the long-delayed Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and transforming the parched lands of Mahabubnagar into fertile agricultural zones. Speaking at a massive public meeting after laying foundation stones for power infrastructure projects worth ₹72 crore in Moosapet mandal of Devarakadra constituency, the Deputy CM accused previous governments of neglecting the region and misleading people with hollow promises. Bhatti Vikramarka laid the foundation for one 132/33 kV substation and twelve 33/11 kV substations, signaling the government's intent to improve power supply to rural and farming communities. He announced that all necessary funds for completing the irrigation project—including for resettlement, rehabilitation, and land acquisition—will be released without delay. He cited the approval of ₹70 crore for the Uddandapur R&R package as evidence of the government's sincerity. He sharply criticized the previous BRS regime, questioning why the Palamuru-Rangareddy project, launched in 2015 with a foundation stone laid by then CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao, remained incomplete even after ten years. He condemned the symbolic activation of pumps just before elections as nothing more than a publicity stunt and stated that the Congress-led administration, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is now working with a genuine people-centric approach. The Deputy CM also highlighted key welfare initiatives being rolled out by the government. He noted that 4.5 lakh houses are being constructed under the Indiramma Housing Scheme with an allocation of ₹22,500 crore. For Devarakadra alone, 3,500 houses have been sanctioned. Other major schemes include 24x7 free power supply to farmers, free 200 units of domestic electricity to 50 lakh households, free RTC travel for women, and the launch of the 'Rajiv Yuva Vikasam' scheme to support five lakh unemployed youth. He also announced the ₹12,600 crore 'Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam' for the benefit of tribal communities through solar pumps, borewells, and cultivation support on 6.7 lakh acres. At Nawabpet in Jadcherla constituency, Bhatti Vikramarka laid the foundation for a 132/33 kV substation with an outlay of ₹42 crore and sixteen 33/11 kV substations costing ₹54.37 crore. In his address, he slammed the previous government for betraying Palamuru and assured that the Congress government would set a new benchmark in governance. On this occasion, 200 sewing machines were distributed to minority women and Indiramma housing documents were handed over to beneficiaries. The event witnessed the participation of Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, MLAs Anirudh Reddy, Madhusudan Reddy, and Megha Reddy, District Collector G. Vijayendra Boi, and senior officials from TRANSCO, TGSPSCDL, and other departments. DCCB Chairman Vishnu Vardhan Reddy was also present. Several development proposals including new hospitals, colleges, transformer repair centers, and trauma care units were also discussed during the meeting.
