Telangana cabinet meeting tomorrow; KLIS, Yuva Vikasam on agenda

HYDERABAD: The state Cabinet, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is scheduled to meet on June 5. It is expected to take up the report submitted by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS), implementation of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme and issues concerning government employees, among other matters. Sources said the Cabinet is likely to approve the NDSA report and adopt its recommendations. The Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme, which aims to provide bank loans with incentives for youth self-employment, is also expected to come up for discussion. Even before the scheme's rollout, the government received several complaints about ineligible applicants being considered. Though over 13 lakh applications have been received, the distribution of sanction letters — which was set to begin on June 2 — has been put on hold. In a recent meeting with ministers, the chief minister said the letters would be issued only after Cabinet deliberations. Meanwhile, the Cabinet is also likely to discuss the report submitted by the three-officer committee formed to engage with government employees on their pending issues and demands. The report was recently submitted to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

Bajaj Auto launches all-new Electric Bajaj GOGO auto in Hyd

Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) Bajaj Auto Limited, the world's most valuable two-wheeler and three-wheeler company, launched its all-new electric three-wheeler, the Bajaj GOGO Auto, in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Telangana Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who formally launched the vehicle, congratulated Bajaj Auto for introducing the new EV model. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Telangana government's vision of promoting clean and sustainable mobility, while also serving public needs. The Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Telangana is offering 100 per cent free registration for EVs until 2026—a first-of-its-kind initiative in India. He noted that this has already boosted the sales of EVs across vehicle categories, from two-wheelers to luxury cars. In its broader effort to curb pollution, the state aims to encourage the use of EVs, CNG, and LPG vehicles across the proposed Regional Ring Road. As part of this strategy, TGSRTC (Telangana State Road Transport Corporation) is preparing an action plan to introduce 800 electric buses in Hyderabad. Minister Prabhakar lauded the Bajaj GOGO as a convenient and comfortable commuting solution and expressed hope for a strong market response. He urged the company to collaborate with the state government's Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme, which has been allocated Rs 6,000 crore to support self-employment opportunities for the unemployed. Under this scheme, unemployed youth could purchase EVs like the Bajaj GOGO for self-sustaining livelihoods. He also suggested the introduction of vehicle exchange offers to allow existing auto-rickshaw owners to upgrade to EVs. Additionally, as a green initiative, he recommended offering a free sapling with each vehicle purchase to promote environmental sustainability. Speaking on the occasion, Samardeep Subandh, President of the Intra-City Business Unit at Bajaj Auto Limited, said, 'The launch of the all-electric Bajaj GOGO range of three-wheelers will set new benchmarks in the segment. Telangana, being one of India's largest three-wheeler markets, is a natural launchpad for the Bajaj GOGO. With a certified range of up to 251 km, segment-first features, and Bajaj's legacy of reliability and service, GOGO offers a complete solution for customers seeking high earnings with low maintenance. Backed by over 75 years of trust and purpose-built EV technology, the Bajaj GOGO is the ideal choice for both drivers and passengers, he added. The Bajaj GOGO comes in three variants – P5009, P5012, and P7012. In the model nomenclature, 'P' denotes 'Passenger', '50' and '70' represent size indicators, while '09' and '12' refer to battery capacities of 9 kWh and 12 kWh, respectively. The GOGO symbolises the vibrancy and dynamism of India's evolving three-wheeler segment and reflects Bajaj Auto's commitment to innovation, cultural relevance, and reliability. Passenger vehicle variants P5009 (priced at Rs 3,26,797) and P7012 (priced at Rs 3,83,004) are now available; bookings are open at all Bajaj Auto dealerships across India. 5-year battery warranty.

Gadwal: On Friday, a review meeting was held at the IDOC Conference Hall on Indiramma housing, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, and paddy procurement centers with the concerned officials. District Collector B.Y.M. Santhosh presided over the meeting and issued key directives to ensure swift progress in the implementation of these schemes. During the meeting, the Collector conducted a detailed review of the progress of Indiramma housing construction on a mandal-wise basis. He inquired about the status of grounding, basement work, marking, and re-verification for the sanctioned houses. He instructed officials to encourage beneficiaries to accelerate the construction process and to educate them about cost-effective construction techniques. The Collector also emphasized timely updates in the online application to ensure swift release of government assistance to beneficiaries. He stated that funds will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries' accounts based on the construction stage. He directed officials to work in coordination and ensure speedy completion of housing projects. In municipalities, officials were instructed to conduct daily field visits, provide guidance to eligible beneficiaries, and fast-track the completion of construction. He reiterated that Indiramma houses should be allotted only to the deserving poor. Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme Application Scrutiny to be Expedited The Collector also instructed officials to speed up the scrutiny of applications received under the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme. During the selection of eligible candidates, he insisted on strict adherence to eligibility norms including Aadhaar, income, and caste certificates. He directed MPDOs and municipal commissioners to download applications, categorize them by corporation and bank, and forward them to the respective banks. Bank officials were instructed to review the applications and submit eligibility reports. Officials were urged to carefully examine every application and select only genuinely eligible candidates. Efficient Paddy Procurement at Centers is a Must: Collector Regarding paddy procurement, Collector Santhosh directed that the process be carried out efficiently at all procurement centers. Present at the meeting were Additional District Collector Narsinga Rao, ED SC Corporation Ramesh Babu, LDM Srinivasa Rao, Civil Supplies Officer Swami Kumar, Civil Supplies DM Vimala, Housing PD Srinivasulu, municipal commissioners, MPDOs, and other key officials.
