Huge cannabis farm found at former clothing store in Bangor

North Wales Police's Clear, Hold, Build team found a "sophisticated" cannabis cultivation on July 1.
The force had acted on information it received suggesting that cannabis was being grown at the old New Look site on Bangor High Street.
Police said their investigation into the farm remained ongoing, and are appealing for information from anyone aware of movements at the site.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "A sophisticated Cannabis Cultivation has been uncovered by the Clear, Hold, Build team in Bangor.
"On Tuesday 1st of July 2025, North Wales Police received information suggesting that cannabis was being cultivated at the old New Look site in Bangor complete with lighting, ventilation and enough cannabis plants to start a small forest.
"Officers have accessed the address and located a large scale Cannabis grow, not exactly the kind of greenery we like to see in Bangor.
"While we support homegrown businesses, this one went way behind the legal limit.
"Our investigation is ongoing and we would ask that anyone with information comes forward, we are particularly interested in any movements, vehicles or persons entering or exiting the building since April 2025.
"Information can also be submitted anonymously via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111."
PC Rylance from the Clear, Hold, Build team said: 'We are dedicated to targeting serious and organised crime and will continue to target those who are intent on exploiting vulnerable persons and children.

West Mercia Police urges reporting of non-contact sex offences

Victims of non-contact sexual offences are being urged to report the crimes, in a campaign launched by West Mercia Police. The initiative aims to challenge the idea that indecent exposure, voyeurism, upskirting and cyberflashing are too trivial to said these offences, which are often dismissed as low-level or embarrassing, could escalate into more serious crimes like can report offences through the force's website or anonymously through Crimestoppers. "Many women may have brushed it off as something that happens to all women," said Det Supt Emma Whitworth. Classic Ford Sierra Cosworth stolen from near Newport

The silver Ford Sierra Cosworth was said to have been taken from an address near Newport after two men arranged to view it on April 12, 2024. Gwent Police have now renewed their appeal for information about the theft. The first man, who identified himself as Ryan Marsh on social media, is described as white, in his 40s, around 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, with short dark brown hair. The second man is described as white, in his 50s, around 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build, and bald. He did not provide his name to the victim. Both men are believed to be from the Preston or Manchester areas. A police spokesperson said: "If you recognise them, contact us via our website, call us on 101 or send us a direct message on Facebook or X, quoting log reference 2400121243. "You can also call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 with information or online."
