Shohei Ohtani's wife Mamiko Tanaka made a surprise appearance on the red carpet for the MLB All-Star game Tuesday.

Yet, she stunned fans when she joined her husband on the red carpet ahead of Tuesday night's showdown between the National and American Leagues.
Tanaka, who gave birth to the couple's first baby earlier this year, cut an elegant figure in a flowy apricot gown, which was cinched at her waist. She accessorized the chic look with an eye-catching pair of diamond drop-down earrings.
She dazzled on the amr of her husband, who looked dapper in a navy double-breasted suit and pale blue buttoned-up shirt.
Ohtani and Tanaka quietly tied the knot in early 2024. It took the baseball sensation, who is extremely private, a few weeks to reveal exactly who she was after first announcing that he had wed a mystery woman in February.

'I began a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers, but I also have started a new life with someone from my native country of Japan who is very special to me,' he said on social media.
Tanaka is a 28-year-old former Japanese basketball player who played in the country's top women's league.
In April, they welcomed a baby girl into the world, just over a month since stunning the baseball world with their surprise nuptials.
Since exchanging their vows, Tanaka has made only a limited number of public appearances with the Los Angeles Dodgers phenom.
She did, however, join the two-way star on the red carpet for last year's edition of the All-Star game.
Meanwhile, the red carpet was filled with baseball power couples in Atlanta as Yankees sensation Aaron Judge and his wife Samantha also stepped out for the pre-game fanfare. They also welcomed a daughter, Nora, in January.
Social media sensation and former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne also made an appearance to support her MLB beau Paul Skenes, who started on the mound for the National League.
The TikTok star was also at Truist Park in Atlanta with her Pirates-star beau Paul Skenes for the annual All-Star Game event on Monday night.
And while taking in the action, Dunne could not believe her eyes when Pittsburgh outfielder Oneil Cruz let rip with one of his 21 home runs that saw him advance to the semifinals.
Cruz, who crushed a 513-foot homer on the night, averaged 447 feet during the first round with a top exit velocity of 118mph.
Dunne shared a video on Instagram of the Dominican star sending one flying into the stands, before spinning the camera round to show her stunned reaction.
She also included the caption 'holy cr@p' while saying in the background 'oh my god'.

Bubba Wallace wins Brickyard 400 to become Indy's first Black winner

Bubba Wallace became the first Black driver to win on Indianapolis Motor Speedway's 2.5-mile oval, surviving a late rain delay, two overtimes, concerns over running out of fuel and a hard-charging Kyle Larson on Sunday in the Brickyard 400. The third NASCAR Cup victory of Wallace's career was also his biggest. It snapped a 100-race winless streak that dated to 2022 at Kansas. He also won at Talladega in 2021. It's his first win at one of NASCAR's four crown jewel races. 'Unbelievable,' Wallace shouted on his radio after crossing the yard of bricks. And while the final gap was 0.222 seconds, he didn't reach victory lane without some consternation. Larson trailed by 5.057 seconds with 14 laps to go but the gap was down to about three seconds with six remaining when the yellow flag came out because of rain. The cars rolled to a stop on pit lane with four to go, giving Wallace about 20 additional minutes to think and rethink his restart strategy. But after beating Larson through the second turn, a crash behind the leaders forced a second overtime, extending the race even more laps as Wallace's team thought he might run out of gas. Wallace risked everything by staying on the track then beat the defending race winner off the restart again to prevent Larson from becoming the fourth back-to-back winner of the Brickyard. It also alleviated the frustration Wallace felt Saturday when he spent most of the qualifying session on the provisional pole only to see Chase Briscoe surpass with one of the last runs in the session. He made sure there was no repeat Sunday, giving an added boost to the 23XI Racing co-owned by basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and last week's race winner, Denny Hamlin, as it continues to battle NASCAR in court over its charter status. ___

George Lucas makes Comic-Con debut for Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

SAN DIEGO, July 27 (Reuters) - Excited fans waved glowing "Star Wars" lightsabers on Sunday at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for George Lucas' latest project, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Along with Lucas, the panel included director Guillermo del Toro and Doug Chiang, vice president of Disney's (DIS.N), opens new tab Lucasfilm, with Queen Latifah moderating at the San Diego Convention Center. Attendees shouted "Lucas! Lucas! Lucas!" and clapped their hands in anticipation of the "Star Wars" creator's arrival, and gave the 81-year-old Lucas a standing ovation as he took his seat. "Opening in 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a first-of-its-kind institution dedicated to illustrated storytelling across time, cultures, and media," a press release from the museum said. The 11-acre campus, in Exposition Park in Los Angeles, will include a green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, and retail and community spaces. Some of its collection will include art from comic book artist Jack Kirby, painter Norman Rockwell and illustrator Kadir Nelson, as well as a Lucas archive with models, props, concept art and costumes. "I love all art, no matter what it is," Lucas said after showing a video that gave a sneak peek at the museum. The video included renderings of the museum interior and exterior, as well as the museum's broad range of art ranging from more traditional fine art and comic book strips to "Star Wars" sculptures and installations. Lucas began the panel recalling his days as a college student struggling to pursue his dream of becoming an art collector due to the steep cost of fine art. But the filmmaker found an affordable exception with comic books, sold cheaply in "underground" markets. Now, rather than selling art he collected over around 50 years, Lucas said he prefers to create what he calls a "temple to the people's art." Lucas kept the conversation focused on the museum and did not discuss "Star Wars" or "Indiana Jones." For del Toro, the museum offers a visual past that belongs to everyone" and can't be erased, noting that he may move some of his personal art collection to the Lucas Museum. Part of the liberation that comes with narrative art for the "Pan's Labyrinth" director also means that art can't be made with a computer app, as it lacks "personality and knowledge."

Marcus Rashford gets into the action on Barcelona debut as he comes on at half time – but gets subbed after 33 minutes

MARCUS Rashford gets into the action on his Barcelona debut yesterday — after coming out at half-time for just 33 minutes. The Three Lions striker, on a season-long loan from Man Utd, became the first Englishman to play for the Spanish giants since Gary Lineker between 1986 and 1989. 3 3 Legend Lineker said: 'I expect Marcus will do well.' Rashford, 27, helped Barca to a 3-1 victory in a friendly in Japan against local team Vissel Kobe. We recently revealed how Rashford has has rekindled his relationship with former fiancée Lucia Loi. She was with him when he signed for FC Barcelona. The Three Lions ace, 27, and childhood sweetheart Lucia, 26, were together during a photoshoot before he was unveiled as the Catalan giants' latest signing at the Camp Nou stadium. She took his photo, then moved behind him to take another and seemingly checked his shirt before the Man United exile posed beside a traditional red British phone box. Rashford was later seen emerging from the kiosk in a post on FC Barcelona's social media, captioned: 'Hello? Barca? For sure, I'm coming.' The Sun understands that Rashford has asked calming influence Lucia, who works in PR, to help him settle in to life in Spain so he can focus on his football. But they were not seen together until they were unwittingly snapped preparing for his phone box stunt. A source said the pair have stayed close, despite their 2022 engagement fizzling out, and have grown close again of late.
