COLOMBO: Sri Lankan shares eked out gains on Thursday but ended the holiday-shortened week 0.4% lower, snapping a six-week rally.
The CSE All Share index settled up 0.11% at 19,826.57.
Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) was the top percentage boost on the benchmark, gaining 25%, while Co-Operative Insurance Company was the top drag, shedding 6.25%.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 115.1 million shares from 162.5 million in the previous session.
The equity market's turnover dropped to 3.26 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($10.84 million) from 4.45 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Wednesday, recharting its course mid-week, after logging losses in the previous two sessions. The CSE All-Share index settled up 0.54% to 19,825.25, led by materials and consumer discretionary sectors. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) and Colombo Investment Trust were the top two percentage gainers on the CSE All-Share, rising 25% and 21.48%, respectively. Trading volume on the index rose to 162.5 million shares from 142.8 million in the previous session. COLOMBO: Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged by losses in communication services and information technology stocks. The CSE All Share index settled 0.34% lower at 19718, extending losses from Monday, when it snapped an 11-session gaining run. UB Finance and Sigiriya Village Hotels were the top two percentage losers on the CSE All Share, falling 7.7% and 6.7%, respectively. Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 142.8 million shares from 157.5 million in the previous session. The equity market's turnover fell to 3.31 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($11 million) from 4.54 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data. Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 277.6 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 3.18 billion rupees, the data showed.
