Optimal Blue Announces Ask Obi, an AI Assistant to Provide Mortgage Lending Executives With Real-Time Business Insights

- Conversational generative AI chat assistant to provide easy-to-understand, interactive insights and graphical representations to help lenders maximize profitability -
SAN DIEGO, Calif., Feb. 4, 2025 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Optimal Blue today announced Ask Obi, an AI assistant designed to provide mortgage lending executives with instant, actionable insights from their Optimal Blue products and data. Unveiled during Optimal Blue's inaugural Summit user conference in San Diego, Ask Obi gives lenders the power to view their operations holistically with data aggregation across Optimal Blue's comprehensive capital markets platform.
Ask Obi enables executives to inquire about intricate profitability metrics with simple, conversational queries – such as, 'What markets had the greatest change in average margins from Q3 2024 to Q4 2024?' or 'Which loan officers issued the most concessions over the second week of January 2025?' – and get easy-to-understand answers at a granular level to improve strategic decision-making.
'Our clients operate in a time when speed and accuracy matters, so having to wait for reports to be generated – only to then spend more time poring over those reports to get to the insights needed to make decisions – doesn't make sense,' said Joe Tyrrell, CEO of Optimal Blue. 'With Ask Obi, those hours of generating, compiling, and analyzing reports are replaced with accurate, real-time, personalized information, designed specifically for decision-makers, by delivering the data that matters most to their profitability. While other companies are talking about AI, but in reality are still trying to catch up to our accuracy and core capabilities, Optimal Blue has already embraced generative AI to solve real operational and capital markets challenges, all at no additional cost to our clients.'
'Ask Obi demonstrates the unique value clients realize by working with Optimal Blue, a provider of comprehensive capital markets technology,' said Erin Wester, chief product officer of Optimal Blue. 'Through the power of generative AI, users can have an interactive conversation to better understand the data that drives their business. In contrast to other tools that may require filters and manual selections, Ask Obi is designed for ease of use and conversational interactions, while conveniently building off a user's previous inquiries and suggesting preloaded questions.'
Available to Optimal Blue clients for beta testing later this month, Ask Obi offers complete access to a lender's PPE data, with development work underway to expand access across Optimal Blue's complete capital markets platform. This initiative aligns with Optimal Blue's larger vision to deliver comprehensive interoperability among its end-to-end capital markets products, allowing clients to benefit from synthesized data and machine learning for enhanced margin management and profitability oversight.
Ask Obi is one of several innovations the company announced at its Summit, demonstrating its commitment to continuous investment in its products to help its clients maximize lending profitability.

Trump Tempers Expectations Ahead of US-Russia Summit

Ahead of Friday's summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the US for making "quite energetic and sincere efforts" to stop the fighting in Ukraine. Putin expressed willingness to start work on a new arms control treaty, saying an agreement can "create long-term conditions for peace" between the US and Russia. Trump, though, has sought to dial back hopes for a breakthrough, stung in part by a meeting with Putin during his first term that was seen as an embarrassment for the US president. And the announcement of the talks — without the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy — left Kyiv's allies alarmed. Trump: I Think Putin Will Make Peace (Full Q&A)

The call to Beau Disbrow was unlike any the Anchorage realtor had ever received. His short-term rentals typically house tourists bound for glaciers, or business travelers passing through. This time, the request came from the US Secret Service. 'Most of my short-term rentals were booked, but I did manage to put some of them into one home,' he said. It was not the last inquiry connected to the highly anticipated summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin set for Friday. Soon after the Secret Service call, the Russian consulate in New York phoned Disbrow with the same request. With no vacancies left, he referred the officials to a friend with furnished homes sitting empty. Trump spoke at the White House (Source: Bloomberg)

Investors temper Ukraine hopes ahead of Trump and Putin summit

By Marc Jones LONDON (Reuters) -Investors are tempering expectations that Friday's summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will deliver a significant breakthrough on the war in Ukraine despite some hopeful signs. Ukraine's government bonds - key indicators of the mood - rallied when news of the summit emerged this month but have largely stalled at a still-distressed 55 cents on the dollar amid the pre-meeting posturing. Trump himself said it will be more of a "listening exercise" although he hopes it will go well enough for another involving Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy soon afterwards - and threatened "severe consequences" if it doesn't. Europe's leaders meanwhile have been encouraged by Trump's signals on participating in security guarantees, while Putin has praised Trump for "sincere efforts" to stop the hostilities. Kathryn Exum, an analyst at emerging market-focused fund Gramercy, said the fact Ukraine's bonds remain well below the highs they hit when Trump regained the White House despite their near 20% rally this month reflected limited market expectations. "The bar is pretty high for any meaningful progress given the red lines of the parties seem deeply entrenched," Exum said. "I think the market is pricing in a symbolic truce," such as on long-range missiles and drones, she added. "Ultimately though is doesn't change the game for any side." MODEST Diliana Deltcheva, head of emerging market debt at Robeco, said EU leaders' calls with Trump on Wednesday, when he offered a potentially significant but vague security offer, were a "modest positive". But she too thinks Friday's summit is unlikely to yield substantive progress. "We had a small overweight (in Ukraine bonds) but now we have neutralised it," Deltcheva said. "From our position, is it too difficult to call the situation... there have been too many false starts." Geopolitical analyst at research firm TS Lombard, Christopher Granville, thinks whatever its ostensible outcome, Friday's meeting will mark the "definitive start of the concluding phase of the Ukraine war". "One way or the other, the situation is on a quickening path," Granville said. Either the sides would find a path towards a lasting ceasefire, or the war would ratchet up and ultimately force the issue. Ukraine's bonds, part of a $20 billion restructuring last year, were up as much 1 cent Thursday, just below the five month highs they hit earlier in the week. Oil and gas prices have fallen over the last fortnight too, traders say, on hopes of a post-summit "peace dividend" that could avoid costly 'secondary' tariffs being put on major Russia crude buyers like India and China. Investment bank surveys show the majority of fund managers have a small 'overweight' position on Ukraine's bonds, although it has been reducing over the last six months. Gramercy's Exum said investors remain wary because Trump has repeatedly changed tack on the war. His trolling of Zelenskiy as a "dictator" in February and the ugly Oval Office clash shortly afterwards, was "a wakeup call" for overly optimistic investors she said. Robeco's Deltcheva described that meeting as "traumatising", both in terms of the human aspect and for assumptions around the U.S. position. "We all saw how Zelenskiy got treated and how Trump's opinion changed," she said, which made it more difficult for investors to rely on Trump's stance. If Friday's discussion surprises on the positive side though, "then we will probably have to react," she said.
