E-khata drive from October 22 to November 1
'We have records of 24 lakh khatas, including both A and B khatas, but only 6.5 lakh e-khatas have been obtained. Therefore, this large-scale drive is being organised,' said Mr. Shivakumar.
Speaking about the Cabinet's decision to convert B Khatas to A Khatas, the Dy. CM stated that the eligibility criteria and application guidelines will be released by August 15.
Additionally, the Dy. CM announced that a section of the Hebbal Flyover, a multi-level parking facility in Gandhi Bazaar, and a few improved traffic junctions will be inaugurated soon. He hinted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah may be available on August 6 for the inauguration.
Mr. Shivakumar also noted that the government is planning to implement several welfare schemes that will benefit between 10,000 and 15,000 people. As part of one such scheme, 3,700 pushcarts will soon be distributed to selected beneficiaries.
Clean Bengaluru
Mr. Shivakumar revealed that 10,354 complaints regarding waste disposal in public spaces have been received since the launch of the Clean Bengaluru programme, which allows citizens to report garbage issues.
'Nearly 9,700 complaints have been addressed, but I am not satisfied. I want more people to file complaints so that BBMP can act on them,' he said.
The DCM also mentioned that instructions have been given to install additional surveillance cameras to monitor garbage disposal and impose hefty fines on vehicles involved in public space waste dumping.

Intentional suppression of Expert Committee reports against Medigadda Barrage, dishonesty in shifting the water source point from Tummidihatti, abnormal escalation of the project costs, awarding of contracts on a lump sum basis, and hiding the decisions from the Cabinet pointed the fingers of 'criminality' towards former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao by the PC Ghose Commission on the Kaleshwaram project. The Commission of Inquiry, led by Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, held the then Chief Minister KCR primarily accountable for bypassing established procedures and ignoring expert advice, resulting in colossal public expenditure and infrastructure now in distress. The Commission held KCR directly accountable for the irregularities and his involvement and directions minutely were the cause and result of the irregularities and the cause of distress to these three barrages. The then Minister for Irrigation T. Harish Rao, intentionally ignored the Expert Committee report while the then Finance Minister Eatala Rajender demonstrated lack of integrity in safeguarding the financial and economic health of Telangana, the report said. The project, initially conceived at ₹38,500 crore, was escalated to ₹71,436 crore for Kaleshwaram, and later saw revised administrative approvals totalling over ₹1.10 lakh crore by March 2022. The report states that there was 'absolutely no operation and maintenance' of the barrages. The then Chief Minister had ordered continuous impounding of water to enable the pump house operation, an unscientific move as barrages are meant for diversion, not storage. The continuous water impoundment was the major factor leading to structural distress. The report concluded that the issuance of Substantial Completion Certificates and Final Completion Certificates for Medigadda barrage was 'illegal and tainted with malice,' done to favour the contractors.

PM Modi to inaugurate Bengaluru's yellow line metro, launch phase-3 on Aug 10
BJP leader Tejasvi Surya on Sunday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bengaluru and inaugurate the Yellow Line Metro on August 10. Tejasvi Surya said this could happen because of Modi's personal insistence that this must be open to public without any further delay.(PMO) Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for Metro Phase-3, he said. In a post on 'X', Surya said, "Hon. PM Sri @narendramodi Ji's visit to Bengaluru on August 10 will be a landmark moment for Bengaluru South. He will not only inaugurate the long-awaited Yellow Line Metro operations but also lay the foundation stone for Metro Phase 3 - a project that received Cabinet approval within the first 100 days of his third term." He said the Yellow Line will cater to close to eight lakh riders and the 'infamous Silk Board jam' will be addressed greatly. Public transport is the only option to reduce traffic congestion. "Together, these projects will benefit nearly 25 lakh people in Bengaluru South," he said. The MP said by inaugurating it on August 10, the Yellow Line Metro project would meet the August 15 deadline. Surya said this could happen because of Modi's personal insistence that this must be open to public without any further delay. Surya, who is also the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national president, quoted Union Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who said on 'X', "I am pleased to announce that the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India has kindly agreed to inaugurate 19.15 km Yellow Line from RV Road to Bommasandra of Bangaluru metro with 16 stations at the cost of ₹5,056.99 crore and lay the foundation stone of 44.65 km of Bangalore phase-3 at the cost of ₹15,611 Crore on 10th August 2025." Surya had staged a demonstration to open the Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro Rail project recently.
