Mets Predicted to Swing Blockbuster Trade For $50 Million All-Star
The New York Mets are tied with the Chicago Cubs for the best record in the National League, entering play on Wednesday. The Mets look like a team that can make another deep run in October, but still have holes on the roster.
The Mets have gotten a .684 OPS from center field this season. Tyrone Taylor has seen most of the work there, but he is leaps and bounds better with his glove than with his bat. There should be plenty of outfielders available for the Mets at the deadline, but Talkin' Baseball's Jake Storiale predicted the Mets would trade for Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday's episode of the "Talkin' Baseball Podcast."
"If I had to pick right now, I'd say the Mets," Storiale said. "Steve (Cohen), roll the wallet out there. You have to pay him and you don't have to give up a big price. He could potentially go nuts for three months."

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - AUGUST 22: Luis Robert #88 of the Chicago White Sox catches a ball hit by Michael Massey of the Kansas City Royals in the third inning at Kauffman Stadium on August 22, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri. MoreRobert signed a six-year, $50 million deal before ever making his debut. He has $20 million club options for the next two seasons. However, he has struggled this season and has a lengthy injury history.
In his lone healthy season, 2023, Robert was an All-Star and hit 38 home runs. This season, he has been healthy, but the results have not been there. He is slashing .190/.275/.305 on the year. He is more expensive than Taylor and does not look like an upgrade right now. However, his ceiling is higher, and the Mets may be willing to bank on his potential.
Since June 6, Robert has been playing better, perhaps indicating that he has turned a corner. He is slashing .265/.324/.412 since then.

Travis Kelce ‘can't block out' media scrutiny since dating Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce can't help but pay attention to the increased public scrutiny he has received since stepping out with Taylor Swift, the biggest pop star on the planet, in 2023. During an interview with GQ as their September cover star, Kelce explained that he cares what the peanut gallery has to say — and he's become 'more strategic' in understanding how he portrays himself to the public. 'You can't block that out,' Travis said of the heightened attention his relationship with Swift has brought on. 'If someone says something that they don't like about you, you have to be able to understand how you are portraying yourself for them to say that. 3 Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce opens up on his relationship with Taylor Swift, handling media scrutiny and his life outside football in an interview for GQ's September 2025 cover story. Ryan McGinley for GQ 'I'm a guy who doesn't want anyone to say anything negative about me. Some people don't give a f–k. I'm someone who does care.' Kelce went on to explain that he knows how he wants the public to view him. 3 Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift walk together after an AFC Championship NFL football game between the Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, Jan. 28, 2024, in Baltimore. AP 'When you see me hanging out at the US Open with Taylor, it may look like the two of us are partying,' Kelce said. 'But I'm just enjoying the fun of being at this really cool event that I always wanted to go to with the person that I love. 'Put another way, I've become way more strategic in understanding what I am portraying to people… I have a good understanding of how I want to be portrayed.' Kelce, 35, previously reflected on the added attention and fame that came when he and Swift first got together in the summer of 2023. Last month, the All-Pro tight end dismissed a narrative that he and Swift are 'trying to seek attention' by having date nights in the public eye, including their appearance at the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. 3 Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is the GQ cover star for the September 2025 issue. Ryan McGinley for GQ in 2024, Kelce said he had to move into a gated community in Kansas City last year, due to safety concerns over people lurking outside of his home. The three-time Super Bowl champ has discussed paparazzi hanging around his house.

Dodgers Can Save Yankees' Troubled Star Closer With New Contract: Insider
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. As two of the oldest and most popular franchises in the history of Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees have a lot in common. Last year, that meant a trip to the last World Series, where the Dodgers came out on top. And since then, the two teams have also shared some disappointment in their star bullpen additions. This past winter, the Dodgers signed All-Star relievers Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates only to see their relief corps collectively struggle all season. And the Yankees traded for award-winning closer Devin Williams, who has fallen short as well. "Williams was supposed to shore up the ninth inning and give New York a dependable, elite option at the end of games," MLB insider Robert Murray wrote for FanSided. "Instead, the right-hander has posted a 5.60 ERA in 49 games this season and has bounced between the ninth inning and low-leverage situations." NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 25: Devin Williams #38 of the New York Yankees reacts after he is pulled from the game in the ninth inning against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium... The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Yankees 4-2. (Photo) More Elsa/Getty The Yankees acquired Williams in his final year of arbitration eligibility and now he is headed to free agency with virtually no chance of returning to the Bronx and in serious desperation for a bounce-back campaign. As a result, Murray projected that the reliever is in line for a short-term deal and listed the Dodgers as a team that "could embarrass" the Yankees "by saving Devin Williams' career in free agency." "Williams is highly likely to sign a one-year contract to re-establish his value, and what better place to do that than the Dodgers?" Murray asked. "They have a history of signing relievers to one-year contracts. They have shown previous interest in Williams. Maybe that's a partnership the two sides could revisit this offseason?" The Dodgers were linked to Williams alongside the Yankees this past winter and if they believe his struggles have more to do with the pressure of pitching in New York rather than anything physical, they could take a chance on him in Los Angeles. With some lasting need in the bullpen and a penchant for star players, the fit makes sense. More MLB: Yankees Predicted to Finally Cut Ties With Devin Williams This Month, Admit Mistake
