The next phase of Liverpool's plans will require outgoings. Richard Hughes will need to balance the books and Arne Slot does not want to be left with a bloated squad either.
That's why the likes of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could be heading out - with a deal in reach between Diaz and Bayern and Nunez attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.
Serie A clubs queue up for Chiesa
Ben Doak is a £25m to £30m chip that could be cashed in should Liverpool need it while Federico Chiesa has also been tipped for a quick return to Italy.
Chiesa, 27, was left out of the squad which travelled to Asia for the pre-season tour and immediately it was speculated that a move to Serie A could be on the cards.
A wide range of clubs have been tipped to swoop for Chiesa, who joined from Juventus in a £12.5m deal back in September 2024.
Juventus "gaining traction"
According to Caught Offside, Juventus 'is quietly gaining traction' as a new club for Chiesa, while Roma, Como, Atalanta and Napoli have also been mentioned.
But the biggest club to watch could well be AC Milan.
It's not been the first time that Chiesa has been mentioned as a Rossoneri target - but talks are now underway according to the report.

Milan initiate contact with Chiesa
'Milan have initiated 'indirect contact' through Chiesa's representatives, although the financial dimension could pose challenges,' the report states.
Chiesa was initially earmarked for a back-up role to Mohamed Salah but has failed to win over Arne Slot during his first year at Anfield.
He played only six times in the Premier League and appeared in 14 matches overall during 2024/25.
It was first suggested back in January that Chiesa could be returning to Italy but no move materialised. Now it seems the Italy international is edging closer to the exit door with his representatives now exploring a deal with Milan.

Bayern agree deal to sign Liverpool winger Diaz: reports
German champions Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz in a £65.5 million ($88 million) deal, according to multiple reports on Sunday. Bayern had an initial offer of £59 million rejected by the Premier League champions last week, but their improved bid looks set to bring the Colombia international to the Allianz Arena. Diaz has reportedly been given permission to leave Liverpool's pre-season tour of Asia in order to complete a medical with Bayern. He joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Anfield. The 28-year--old made 50 appearances and scored 17 goals in all competitions last season as Arne Slot's team clinched the English title for the first time in five years. Diaz was left out of Liverpool's 4-2 friendly defeat against AC Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday as speculation mounted over his future. "In Lucho's (Diaz's) situation, there's a lot of rumours around him lately and I cannot go into that," Slot said after the Milan match. "He's training really well with us but we have decided for now not to play him yet. "I'm used to talking to most of my players on a regular basis. I cannot comment much more about that." Diaz's impending signing gives Bayern a quality replacement for Germany forward Jamal Musiala, who has been ruled out for a "long period" after he suffered a broken leg and dislocated ankle at the Club World Cup this month. Liverpool have been busy in the transfer window, bolstering their attacking options with expensive swoops for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz and Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike. Defenders Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez arrived from Leverkusen and Bournemouth respectively, while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili joined from Valencia. The Reds are also believed to be interested in making a bid for Newcastle's £150 million-rated striker Alexander Isak. smg/gj

When an extraordinary talent comes around, you have to make sure to not block their pathway. Ngumoha needs a chance in Arne Slot's side this season In 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha, Liverpool have a potential generational player, who is already delivering at levels far beyond his age. Liverpool need to have different dynamics in the side and a piece of individual brilliance can sometimes be enough to crack open a game. Ngumoha is very much capable of delivering that.
