Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses launched in India with 12MP camera and Meta AI: Price, features and more
Meta has officially introduced its AI-driven smart glasses in India, developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica under the iconic Ray-Ban brand. Dubbed Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, the wearable device blends classic eyewear aesthetics with modern smart features, allowing users to capture photos and videos, enjoy music, communicate hands-free, and even interact with their surroundings using artificial intelligence.
The glasses come equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, open-ear speakers, and a five-microphone array, enabling users to take high-resolution snapshots, record 1080p videos up to 60 seconds, and livestream from a first-person perspective directly to Facebook or Instagram. The companion Meta View app also facilitates sharing content across other platforms.
The Ray-Ban Meta Glasses start at ₹ 29,900 for the Skyler and Wayfarer styles in Shiny Black. A Matte Black Wayfarer is available at ₹ 32,100, while the Chalk Grey Skyler and Matte Black Wayfarer variants are priced at ₹ 35,700. Pre-orders are now open, with sales commencing from 19 May via Ray-Ban's official website and leading eyewear retailers across the country.
The smart glasses are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 chip and offer 32GB of internal storage. According to Meta, users can expect up to four hours of use on a single charge, with an additional 32 hours provided by the charging case. The glasses also carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating, making them suitable for everyday use.
At the heart of the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses is Meta AI, the company's proprietary virtual assistant. Activated by the voice prompt 'Hey Meta,' the assistant supports hands-free tasks like music identification, live translation, and contextual queries based on the user's surroundings.
Notably, the glasses can identify music tracks playing in the background—ideal for public settings like cafés or stores. The real-time translation feature supports English to Spanish, French, or Italian, with the translated speech played through the open-ear speakers. A transcription option is also available.
The AI capabilities go further with the 'Live AI' feature, which monitors the live camera feed to answer location-based queries without requiring a wake command. Users can also send direct messages, place audio and video calls, and receive messages through apps such as Instagram, using simple voice commands.
In addition, music playback via Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music is supported, with voice-enabled search options that allow users to request specific tracks, artists, or playlists.

'Next Victory: H-1B scam': MAGA now rallies behind Steve Bannon after China visa crackdown
US crackdown on Chinese students' visa is seen as a victory of the Bannon camp. Donald Trump's former aide Steve Bannon shot to the centerstage Friday as the Trump administration's recent visa decisions were seen as a victory of the Bannon camp. Bannon, an avid hater of the H-1B visa programs that allows US companies to hire foreign talent, quickly reacted to the accolades, as he wrote, "Next Victory: H1B Visa Scam". A POLITICO report gave the verdict that it was the Bannon camp's win over the tech camp as Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the administration would now revoke the visas of Chinese students. The Silicon Valley camp would definitely not like this decision as 70 per cent of Silicon Valley's highly educated tech employees are from overseas and China supplies more than any country except India, the report said noting how silent the tech industry is on this major policy change -- though very little has been shared by Rubio. Meta, Google, Microsoft and NVidia formally declined to comment to POLITICO and it said Tesla, Amazon and Apple did not respond to its emails. "The visa move looks like another win for the Bannon wing," the report gave its verdict. What Steve Bannon thinks about H-1B Steve Bannon has openly called the H-1B program a scam. Openly declaring a war against Elon Musk, he called for an end to the program. "The number of H-1Bs we need this year is ZERO. Everyone issued one should go home, and every billet should be filled by an American," Bannon said. The recent layoffs announced by companies, including Walmart, have been linked to the H-1B and US tech workers are demanding H-1B ban.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos loses World's Second-Richest man title to..., his net worth is...
Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez wedding is expected to be the most expensive in history. (File) The net worth of the world's wealthiest individuals has been rapidly increasing or decreasing, driven largely by the performance of the stock exchange. With a total net worth of $387B, Tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to retain his position as the world's richest person as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. However, there's been a shake-up in the list of the world's richest: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has now claimed the spot as the second-richest person, overtaking Jeff Bezos, whose net worth is $227 B. In the past month, Meta's stock has jumped over 16%, while Amazon shares have seen a more modest rise of around 6.3%. Earlier on January 7, Zuckerberg announced Meta's decision to replace its fact-checking systems on Facebook and Instagram with a 'community notes' model, similar to the approach taken by Elon Musk's X. He justified the change by stating that Meta's fact-checking had resulted in 'too many mistakes and too much censorship' and was 'too politically biased.' According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mark Zuckerberg's net worth is estimated to be $228 B. Mark Zuckerberg is the only one among the top three billionaires to have gained wealth recently. In 2025 alone, he's added $4.63 billion to his fortune. This surge follows Meta's impressive first-quarter earnings of $42.31 billion, reported on May 1, which surpassed analyst expectations of $41.39 billion. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is a daily ranking of the world's richest people. As of May 30, 2025, Larry Ellison is ranked as the fourth-richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of approximately $189 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Next to Ellison, Bill Gates ranked fifth with $174 B.
