"We're giving teams instant access to reliable background checks, ID verifications, and MVRs in the format that is becoming standard for AI systems.'
The MCP Server format—used by widely adopted, developer-first platforms like Stripe, Plaid, and Twilio—allows AI systems and agents to securely interact with critical verification tools through simple, prompt-based instructions.
As the first-of-its-kind agentic interface for verifying users' identities and records, KarmaCheck MCP empowers customers to integrate a comprehensive trust and safety infrastructure without complex specs, custom code, or long deployment timelines for teams of all sizes across industries.
'We're at a turning point where AI systems are making real-world decisions,' said Eric Ly, Co-founder and CEO of KarmaCheck. 'Trust infrastructure must evolve to meet that speed, and our MCP Server does just that. We're giving teams instant access to reliable background checks, ID verifications, and MVRs in the format that is becoming standard for AI systems.'
Infusing Identity and Trust Into Use Cases Across Industries
The KarmaCheck MCP Server adapts to any workflow where trust and speed of onboarding are critical, particularly when verifying identity, criminal history, or driving eligibility in dynamic, high-scale environments. Key examples include:
On-Demand Service Platforms
Nearly 24% of Americans have been victims of fraud or identity theft while using gig economy platforms, according to a study by TransUnion. With the KarmaCheck MCP Server, service and gig platforms can verify a candidate's identity, review their driving record, and screen for criminal offenses, all automatically and without engineering support.
Example Prompts:
Verify ID, motor vehicle records, and criminal background checks for onboarding new [role] in [state/region] — reuse for all similar flows.
Create a case for [name] at [email address] and only run a motor vehicle records check.
Professional and Creative Platforms
Upwork reports that 51% of hiring managers are concerned about talent credibility in marketplaces for hiring freelancers, tutors, and creators. KarmaCheck's MCP works in concert with AI workflows to instantly start screening high-risk or high-touch roles with reusable prompts that can be initiated during signup, upon profile approval, before large payouts, or other events.
Example Prompts:
Run ID verification and criminal background checks for [name] at [email address] before verifying them as a professional coach.
When [financial software] recognizes a new user has requested >$5,000 in payouts, run a new ID verification and criminal background checks. If the records are clean, allow [financial software] to authorize payouts.
Mobility and Delivery Apps
Cambridge Mobile Telematics found that lawsuits for crashes involving gig drivers can cost platforms up to $4 million per incident. MCP capabilities enable ongoing compliance, operational flexibility, and faster onboarding cycles by region and/or role for both commercial fleet operators and consumer-facing delivery platforms.
Example Prompts:
Run motor vehicle records checks only for candidates with commercial drivers licenses whose last check was more than 90 days ago.
Run a motor vehicle records check on all drivers who have not been checked in the last 30 days.
Fintech Platforms and Know Your Customer (KYC) Requirements
Identity fraud in fintech rose 73% between 2021 and 2023, according to Sumsub's Identity Fraud Report. KarmaCheck's MCP Server enables flexible, event-triggered trust checks orchestrated across a customer's tech stack. Checks and verifications can be tied to account creation, payout thresholds, transaction velocity, or other key events — and they can be used consistently in multiple products.
Example Prompts:
When [financial software] indicates [user] at [email address] has linked a new bank account, run ID verification.
[User] has requested more than three payouts in a 30-day period. Run a criminal background check on [user] and alert [email address] if any new offenses have been reported.
KarmaCheck's Commitment to Ongoing AI Innovation
Regardless of use case, the MCP Server supports faster implementation and more responsive trust decisions spanning industries. It is designed to work in production AI environments that use agentic orchestration and workflow tools that support MCP standards, such as LangChain, AWS Bedrock, n8n, and Microsoft Autogen.
'The KarmaCheck MCP Server gives developers and AI builders a faster, leaner path to trust,' said Mark Lieberwitz, Chief Product Officer and Co-founder of KarmaCheck. 'It's not just reliable. AI startup Cohere valued at $6.8 billion in latest fundraise, appoints new executives
(Reuters) -Cohere was valued at $6.8 billion after its latest $500 million funding round, as the artificial intelligence startup moves to expand its market share in a highly competitive industry. The funding round was led by Radical Ventures and Inovia Capital, with participation from existing investors AMD Ventures, NVIDIA, PSP Investments, and Salesforce Ventures, among others. Unlike most AI companies like OpenAI and Meta's Llama, which are focused on broad foundational models, Cohere builds enterprise-specific AI models. In January, it launched North, a ChatGPT-style tool designed to help knowledge workers with tasks such as document summarization. The company said it will use the new funding to advance agentic AI that can help businesses and governments operate more efficiently. Alongside the fundraise, Cohere appointed Joelle Pineau, former Vice President of AI Research at Meta, as Chief AI Officer, and Francois Chadwick, former CFO at Uber and Shield AI, as Chief Financial Officer. The fundraise comes amid a broader surge in AI financing, as private equity and Big Tech channel capital into startups in pursuit of strong returns from innovative AI products. Why AI Robotics Stock Symbotic Surged 38.9% in July
Key Points More analysts are turning bullish on Symbotic after its Walmart deal. The stock has more than doubled in just six months. Symbotic shares could cool off a bit from here, but there's nothing to worry about. 10 stocks we like better than Symbotic › Symbotic (NASDAQ: SYM) stock has gone ballistic. A stunning rally of 38.9% in July drove the stock's half-yearly performance to a staggering 127.5%, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. On Aug. 5, Symbotic hit a 52-week high of $64.16 per share. Symbotic automates warehouses and distribution centers with its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered robots and software. Symbotic's deal with Walmart (NYSE: WMT), in particular, has spurred massive investor interest in its stock, with several analysts upgrading their price targets in recent weeks. Why are analysts turning bullish on Symbotic stock? Analysts from Citi, Arete, Northland, and Oppenheimer were among those that initiated coverage or upgraded their price targets on Symbotic stock in July. While Arete has a price target of $50 per share on Symbotic, analysts from Northland raised their price target on the AI stock to $56 per share from $35 a share. Citi analyst Andrew Kaplowitz upped the stock's price target to $60 from $29 per share. Oppenheimer analyst Colin Rusch, meanwhile, raised Symbotic's price target from $35 per share to $54 a share in July, and then by another $5 in early August. In January, Symbotic acquired Walmart's advanced systems and robotics (ASR) business and signed a commercial agreement with the retail giant to deploy robotics automation systems for up to 400 accelerated pickup and delivery (APD) centers at Walmart stores over the next few years. Symbotic estimates incremental backlog of $5 billion from the deal. As news of Walmart testing "dark stores" to fulfill online orders hit the headlines in late June and through July, investors analysts bumped up their expectations from Symbotic stock and drove its price higher. Shares hit a new 52-week high of $64.16 ahead of earnings on Aug. 5. Could Symbotic stock lose momentum from here? Symbotic beat estimates with 26% year-over-year growth in revenue for its third quarter. Its net loss, however, widened to $32 million from $21 million a year ago because of restructuring charges. Moreover, the company's Q4 revenue guidance of $590 million to $610 million would mean only 4% year-over-year growth at the midpoint. Investors don't want to see a deceleration in sales from a growth stock that's yet to turn profitable. Yet investors should also look beyond the headlines. Symbotic is ready to deploy a next-generation storage system at warehouses that should significantly improve storage capacity and handling. The company, however, is facing startup problems, but expects them to be a temporary blip. Management insisted that none of it affects the company's backlog, which stands at a solid $22.4 billion today. To put that number into perspective, Symbotic generated revenue worth $1.8 billion last year. Long story short, Symbotic could face some quarters of slow revenue growth, but that shouldn't hurt the long-term growth potential of this AI and robotics stock. Grafana Labs Launches Public Preview of AI Assistant for Observability and Monitoring
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grafana Labs, the open observability cloud, today announced the public preview of Grafana Assistant, an AI-powered observability tool that allows users to interact with logs, metrics, and traces using natural language. Now available to all Grafana Cloud users, Grafana Assistant helps accelerate root cause analysis, automate query creation, and make monitoring workflows more accessible to developers, SREs, and IT teams at every skill level. "Grafana Assistant has transformed how we tackle observability data, acting like a seasoned expert woven into the interface." As AI transforms how teams build and operate software, observability tools must evolve to match the speed, scale, and complexity of modern systems. This is backed by the 2025 Observability Survey from Grafana Labs, which found that complexity and signal-to-noise ratio are the two biggest challenges with observability. Grafana Assistant was purpose-built to meet this demand. It bridges the gap between traditional observability tools and the new demands of today by making observability data more accessible, actionable, and conversational. 'There's no doubt that AI is accelerating the pace of innovation. As more organizations adopt a software-driven mindset, they're using AI to rewire how they operate, from revenue and operations to reliability and customer experience,' said Tom Wilkie, Grafana Labs CTO. 'That's why we built Grafana Assistant: a context-aware AI agent that helps teams move from signal to action faster, right inside the tools they already use. Tools like this – along with other AI-powered capabilities in our open observability cloud, like Asserts knowledge graph and Adaptive Telemetry – are helping companies navigate growing digital complexity and act with greater clarity and speed.' Grafana Assistant introduces a context-aware AI agent directly into the Grafana UI, enabling real-time collaboration, investigation, and dashboard creation – all through natural language. Instead of writing complex queries or jumping between tools, users can simply ask questions to: Understand their observability data and environment with in-context guidance and best practices drawn from Grafana's extensive documentation, blog content, and community knowledge. Follow logical paths of inquiry during incidents, supported by AI trained on real-world SRE workflows. Users can even run multiple multi-step investigations in parallel. Create and modify dashboards and panels using natural language, speeding up common tasks and reducing friction. Navigate across Grafana apps and views effortlessly, with the Assistant understanding Grafana URLs and workflows, from querying metrics, logs, traces, and profiles to declaring incidents, creating SLOs, or setting up alerts. This means users don't need to be observability experts to troubleshoot faster, collaborate more effectively, and stay in control of even the most dynamic, AI-driven systems. It's already making an impact with early adopters: "Grafana Assistant has transformed how we tackle observability data, acting like a seasoned expert woven into the interface,' said Mikhail Volkov, Founder and CEO of Volkov Labs. 'It empowers non-technical users, who might find Grafana's technical complexities daunting, to swiftly investigate incidents, craft intuitive dashboards, and explore Grafana Cloud with remarkable ease and confidence." Grafana Assistant is available now in public preview in Grafana Cloud. About Grafana Labs Grafana Labs is the open observability cloud helping organizations understand their systems at scale and turn data into action.
