ByteEdge, a New Delhi-based enterprise AI knowledge transfer platform, has raised USD 1.5 million in a funding round led by Japan-based venture capital firm TRTL Ventures, with additional backing from global and Indian angel investors.
The funds will be primarily deployed towards product development and scaling operations within the Indian market.
"The challenge that organisations face today is that all organisational knowledge exists in text documents—PDFs, Word files, PowerPoint, and so on," said Akash Gupt, cofounder of ByteEdge. "Since this knowledge is stored in such formats, when it is delivered to the workforce—especially the frontline, where 70% of employees are deskless—it often goes unread and misunderstood."
Founded in 2022 by Kamal Dutta and Akash Gupt, ByteEdge transforms traditional corporate documents into cinematic, multilingual short videos. Its AI-powered platform enables companies to ensure more effective knowledge transfer, especially for deskless workers who are often left out of conventional training formats.
Currently serving over 30 global enterprises across sectors like financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and ecommerce, ByteEdge generates 80–85% of its business from India. The startup is also expanding into the US and Middle East markets, where it sees immense potential—particularly in offering local language video content.
ByteEdge is planning to raise an additional USD 3 million within the next four to five months to fuel its international growth. "This is a global problem," Gupt noted. "There is no platform in the Middle East that offers Arabic content in video format at scale. The US presents a broader market opportunity."

The Best Pilsners Of 2025—According To The World Beer Cup
Breweries in the U.S. and Japan were honored for their pilsners at this year's World Beer Cup. The best pilsner beers in 5 subcategories of pilsner were recently selected at this year's World Beer Cup. The winning beers were made by breweries across the U.S. and globe, though surprisingly, given the style's European roots, no breweries from Europe took home pilsner medals. The World Beer Cup took place this spring in Indianapolis. The prestigious competition is run by the Brewers Association, a not-for-profit trade association representing American independent craft brewers. This year, judges assessed 8,375 beers and ciders in more than 300 categories submitted by producers from 49 countries. Submissions included hundreds of pilsners—a clean and crisp style of lager that is often referred to as a brewer's handshake because it is considered one of the clearest indicators of a given brewer's skill. For each pilsner category and beer category overall at the competition, only three medals were awarded: gold, silver, and bronze. Forbes previously looked at the pilsner gold medal winners, particularly Haha Pils, the German-style pilsner gold medal winner. Here we're taking a closer look at all the pilsners that took home a medal at this year's World Beer Cup. Gold: Birkebeinerpils, Victor 23, Portland, OR Silver: Hi-Wire Lager, Hi-Wire Brewing, Asheville, NC Bronze: Icicle Premium Pilsner, Icicle Brewing Co., Leavenworth, WA Gold: STS Pils, Russian River Brewing Co., Windsor, CA Silver: Hamburghini, ISM Brewing, Long Beach, CA Bronze: Pivo, Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paso Robles, CA Gold: Haha Pils, Arbeiter Brewing Co., Minneapolis, MN Silver: Kinabik Pilsner, Snake Lake Brewing Co., Sylvan Lake, Canada Bronze: Planks, MadeWest Brewing Co., Ventura, CA Gold: Bay Pilsner, Yokohama Bay Brewing Co., Yokohama, Japan Silver: Pilsner Rešov, Equal Parts Brewing, Houston, TX Bronze: Minoh Beer Pilsner, Minoh Brewery, Minoh-shi, Japan Gold: Highwayman, Roadhouse Brewing, Jackson, WY Silver: Bellevue 1882 Lager, Bellevue Brewing Co., Bellevue, WA Bronze: Gold Country Pilsner, Auburn Alehouse, Auburn, CA The pilsner category has seen increasing interest from brewers and beer fans overall in recent years. All pilsner variants are themselves a type of pale light lager. These beers are generally noted for their crisp, clean flavors, low bitterness, and subtle malt flavors. Hops are important in this style of beer, but they take on a less in-your-face role than they do in an IBA. The differences between types of pilsners can range from subtle to more pronounced. German pilsners tend to have more bitterness than other styles of pilsner and frequently use Tettnang or Hallertau hops. They are also often unfiltered and cloudy in appearance. Czech pilsners tend to be clear in appearance and often use the Saaz hop, which gives them a distinct taste. American pilsners are based upon German pilsners but can incorporate a wider variety of ingredients, including corn and can be described as falling between a Bohemian pilsner and German pilsner in terms of flavor. Meanwhile, Italian pilsners add dry hopping to the traditional pilsner brewing process, adding more hop character to the finished product.

Nordstrom is coming back to San Francisco — but not how you remember it
The move comes nearly two years after the retailer's dramatic departure from downtown San Francisco, where it closed both its flagship store at Westfield Mall and a nearby Nordstrom Rack in 2023. Unlike its full-scale department stores, the upcoming 1,648-square-foot Nordstrom Local, set to open at 1919 Fillmore St., will not carry traditional retail inventory. Instead, it will function as a neighborhood hub offering online order pickups, returns, tailoring and personal styling appointments. The space will feature eight dressing rooms, a styling suite, and customer amenities including same-day delivery — and even a glass of wine or beer during visits. 'We're welcoming Nordstrom back,' said Planning Commission President Lydia So during the hearing. 'And we're welcoming whoever else wants to come back — or those who never considered coming here because things are hard.' After months of debate and outreach, the commission approved the proposal in a 5–2 vote. Still, the decision was not without controversy. Several residents and small business owners voiced concern that the store would worsen traffic congestion and fail to align with the neighborhood's character. 'This will increase traffic and hurt small businesses,' wrote Sharon Esker, who has lived in the neighborhood since 1969. 'It is not a retail store and I would like a better alternative to this space.' Neighbor Ditka Reiner criticized the landlord's decision to lease to a national retailer, noting that 'chain stores typically contribute to rising rents that push out small, local, independent businesses that are the backbone of a city.' The storefront, previously home to Minted, has been vacant since the early days of the pandemic and has become a symbol of the city's broader commercial vacancy crisis. But support for the project also came from a number of Fillmore Street merchants. 'Nordstrom has long been a responsible and engaged member of San Francisco's business landscape,' wrote Molly Leonetti, president of local boutique Clare V. 'Their presence will not only bring new energy to Fillmore Street but also support the success of neighboring businesses, including ours.' Andrew Graham, vice president of sales at San Francisco-based Marine Layer, agreed. 'Their convenient services, from order pickups to alterations, will attract customers who are likely to explore and shop at nearby stores, further strengthening the local economy,' he wrote. The debate around Nordstrom's return underscores ongoing tensions in San Francisco's recovery, between attracting commercial tenants to fill empty storefronts and preserving the unique character of neighborhood retail corridors.
