Celtics' Jrue Holiday wins second Sportsmanship Award
May 1 - Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday won the NBA Sportsmanship Award for the second time on Thursday.
Holiday, 34, previously received the Joe Dumars Trophy with the Milwaukee Bucks for the 2020-21 season.
Presented since 1995-96, the award goes to the player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court.
After each team nominated one player, a panel of league executives selected one finalist from each division. Current NBA players then voted for the winner.
Holiday received a total of 134 first-place votes and 3,046 points in the balloting. Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers (56 first-place votes, 2,704 points) finished second and Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks (93, 2,640) placed third.
Holiday is also a three-time winner of the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year award and is a finalist for the 2024-25 NBA Social Justice Champion Award. He is a two-time All-Star, two-time NBA champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist.
Holiday averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 62 games this season for the Celtics, who are awaiting their opponent in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Sir Chris Hoy shares new update on 'terrifying' cancer 'death sentence'
The cycling legend was told last year he had between two and four years to live. Sir Chris Hoy says he wants to show that "life goes on" following his cancer diagnosis, despite admitting it felt like receiving a "death sentence". The 49-year-old was told he had stage four prostate cancer in 2023, going public with the news in February 2024 when he announced he was undergoing treatment. The six-time Olympic gold medallist had visited a doctor with shoulder pain, but a scan later revealed a tumour. He revealed last October that it had spread to his bones, and had been told he had two to four years to live. However, in a new update on his condition, he shared his experience of racing at the Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational on Friday, June 13, alongside British racing driver and presenter Chris Harris, the Mirror report s. Speaking to TNT Sport, Hoy said: "I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer almost two years ago now, and it shocked me, it rocked my world. "It changed everything in one sentence, you're told that's not curable, but it's treatable. So suddenly, you have this death sentence, and it's terrifying, but I'm here to show that life goes on for many people in that situation." He was part of the Academy Motorsport team, with him and Harris securing a 20th place finish with a total time of 37:34:746, with a best lap time of 4:30:864. Hoy famously took part in Le Mans Proper in 2016, finishing 17th out of 60 drivers and 12th in class. Speaking about the race, he added: "It's always been the endurance event. If you get the chance as an amateur driver, this is the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake, this is the big one. "I still pinch myself that I got to do it, when you watch on TV or come to watch it live, I still can't quite believe I was out there, elbows out with the big boys. It's different to anywhere else I've been to. "Not many people ever get to race on this track or drive on this track. It was an incredible experience, unlike anything else I've ever done in any sport, let alone in motorsport." It comes as he is due to take part in the Tour de 4 in September, a mass-participation bike ride which he organised with the aim of raising £1 million for UK cancer charities while changing the public's perception of a stage four diagnosis. Speaking about the event, he said: "The bike ride is to try and get as many people together as possible, not just people suffering with cancer but anybody, to show we can keep on living, make the most of every day and live in the present, because that's all any of us have." This is about appreciating life and finding joy."

Report: Knicks to interview Mike Brown, Taylor Jenkins for coaching vacancy
June 14 - The New York Knicks plan to interview two head coaches who were fired during the 2024-25 season as they continue to seek a replacement for dismissed coach Tom Thibodeau, ESPN reported Saturday. Set to chat with the Knicks are former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins, who coached the Memphis Grizzlies, per the report. The Knicks have been turned aside in their efforts to talk with current NBA head coaches, with their teams not granting permission. The list includes Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks), Chris Finch (Minnesota Timberwolves), Ime Udoka (Houston Rockets) and Quin Snyder (Atlanta Hawks). The Knicks fired Thibodeau last week after the team lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals -- the first time they'd advanced to that round in 25 years. Brown, 55, was fired 31 games into his third season in Sacramento, where he posted a 107-88 overall record. He previously was the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers (2005-10, 2013-14) and Los Angeles Lakers (2011-12) and has a career record of 454-304 in the regular season. His teams are 50-40 in the postseason, and Brown took the LeBron James-led Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in the 2006-07 season. Cleveland was swept by the San Antonio Spurs. He's been named NBA Coach of the Year twice, first with Cleveland following the 2008-09 season and then with Sacramento in 2022-23, when he led the Kings to their first postseason in 16 seasons. The Grizzlies fired Jenkins, 40, in March with nine games left in the regular season and a 44-29 record. At the time he was ousted. the Grizzlies were tied for fourth place in the standings in the Western Conference. They ended the season 3-6 and fell to the play-in round, capturing the No. 8 seed. They were swept by the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the play-in round. Jenkins had a 250-214 record in nearly six full seasons with the Grizzlies.
