Aiko Melendez on past rift with Candy Pangilinan: ‘Matagal na kaming OK'

GMA Network09-06-2025

All is well between Aiko Melendez and Candy Pangilinan after their past rift.
In fact, all has long been well between the two actresses.
On Monday's episode of 'Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,' the Quezon City fifth district councilor opened up on her past rift with Candy, saying they have long been on good terms.
'Actually, matagal na kaming OK. One year. We just opted to keep it quiet,' Aiko said.
According to the actress-turned-politician, she and Candy both realized that it was time to show the public they are now on good terms and that there is no longer any animosity between them.
'It happened in San Juan and we were both there. Hindi pa kami nagkikita, first time namin ni Candy na magkita doon and then we were expecting na parang drama, iyakan, but when I saw here I just said 'hi.' Parang walang nangyari, hindi pinag-usapan kung anong ugat,' Aiko recalled, adding their rift was especially painful because she loves Candy.
'Masakit 'yon para sa inyong pareho lalo na apat kami. We call our group The Power Four,' she said, referring to her friend group with Candy, and sisters Gelli and Janice De Belen.
Aiko also said she felt left out when her three friends did the 2024 movie 'Roadtrip' and she was not here.
'Supposedly and originally, i was part of that movie pero watching it sabi ko 'ay parang ako 'yung naiwan,'' she admitted.
When people noticed her absence from the movie, netizens were quick to tag her on social media and spark buzz about a possible feud. That's when she and Candy decided it was time to let the public know they had already patched things up.
'So para just to put an end to it, nagsalita na kami na OK na kami,' Aiko said. — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News
