Thomas Tuchel is back in the dugout as England press on with their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign. The Three Lions are off to Andorra on Saturday, hoping to extend their lead at the top of Group K before hosting a friendly against Senegal on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old has had a perfect start to his international coaching career, having won both his outings to date against Albania and Latvia. England already have a three-point lead in their pool but could end the week even further ahead if things go their way.

Tuchel made a comeback to England last year after a rocky stint at Bayern Munich. This was just another managerial role that ended on a sour note following difficult exits from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, which reportedly impacted his family life.

It was towards the end of his tenure at Stamford Bridge that his 13-year marriage ended, though it seems he has since found new love. Wales Online takes a closer look at the England manager's past and present relationships, along with his net worth as England get back into action.
What is Thomas Tuchel's net worth?
Starting from humble beginnings in the Bundesliga with Augsburg and Mainz, Tuchel has gone on to manage some of Europe's biggest clubs. Despite these roles not always going smoothly, the compensation he has received will likely have eased the pain of any departures.
Finance Monthly recently estimated the seasoned coach is worth approximately £37million as of this year. However, it's evident he accepted the England job at least in part due to his passion for the game given it meant taking a substantial pay cut.

It's understood Tuchel receives an annual salary of £5m in his current post, which is about 66% of the £7.5m per annum he earned in Munich. Clubs typically compensate coaches when they terminate their contracts early, although this doesn't appear to be the case with Bayern and Tuchel, as he continued to receive payment from the club after his departure and was effectively on gardening leave.
The same cannot be said for the end of his tenure at Chelsea, who reportedly paid out £13m to remove him from their payroll in September 2022. Despite securing the Champions League title with the Blues less than 18 months earlier, his exit from Stamford Bridge was rather untidy, resulting in the significant pay-off.

Tuchel also spent two-and-a-half years at the helm at Parc des Princes, where his annual income was believed to be £6m. Each of these amounts are subject to tax and fees in their respective jurisdictions, but it all adds up to one strategist who is certainly not short a bob or two.
Why did Thomas Tuchel get a divorce?
In April 2022, it was revealed that after 13 years of marriage, Tuchel and ex-wife Sissi had parted ways. It's understood the coach's constant travelling played a significant role in their separation as his work took him to France and England.
Sissi, a former journalist the German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung, married Tuchel in 2009 and the pair share two daughters together, Emma and Kim.

Tuchel opened up about the difficulties of managing his work-life balance in a chat with journalists after his first pre-season camp with Chelsea in 2021. He said: "It was a long summer, but it did not feel so long because I was in Paris to help my family move the house and finish school for the kids over there."
Alas, it seems the constant travel eventually took its toll on their relationship. An insider revealed to the Mail on Sunday in 2022 that, despite efforts to keep together, Tuchel and Sissi reached the point where separation appeared to be the only solution.

"It is very sad and now it is all about making sure their daughters are the top priority," they added. "Papers were lodged last week to get the divorce under way."

In the wake of his separation from Sissi, Tuchel was soon linked to Natalie Guerreiro Max, hailing from Brazil and 13 years his junior. Little is known about Guerreiro, except that she too is believed to have two children, hinting at common ground between the pair.
The Sun captured photos of Thomas and Natalie soaking up the sun in Sardinia in July 2022 before he resumed his duties at Chelsea. According to reports, the couple stayed in a luxurious villa costing £20,000 per night, with one onlooker noting that they "held hands at every opportunity and looked really happy."
It's likely business owner Natalie being based in London played a role in Tuchel's decision to take the England job. And he'll be hoping for a more harmonious ending to this stint compared to his previous role in the English capital.

Depay, Dumfries earn Netherlands 2-0 win in Finland

HELSINKI, June 7 (Reuters) - The Netherlands kicked off their World Cup qualification campaign with a comfortable victory as goals from Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries secured a 2-0 away win over Finland on Saturday. Depay profited from a defensive error to give the Dutch the lead inside six minutes, and Dumfries added a second with a neat finish at the back post midway through the first half. The Netherlands moved third in Group G with three points, behind leaders Poland, who have won both their games, and Finland who have four points from three matches. The group winners advance to next year's World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, while the second-placed side will enter a 16-team playoff competition to decide four additional places at the finals.

Thomas Tuchel unhappy with England attitude in laboured victory over Andorra

Boos greeted the final whistle, just as they did at half-time, after the 6,950 travelling fans watched the Euro 2024 runners-up put in a limp performance against the side ranked 173rd in the world. England failed to turn their dominance into a goal as the first half ended scoreless, with Harry Kane finally making the breakthrough when turning in star man Noni Madueke's cross in the 50th minute. A 1-0 win for the #ThreeLions in Barcelona 👊 — England (@England) June 7, 2025 But Tuchel's side failed to kick on in Barcelona and the skipper's third goal in as many games under the German boss proved the difference in an underwhelming win against obdurate Andorra. 'I didn't like the attitude how we ended the game,' Tuchel said after his first away match in charge. 'I liked the attitude how we started the game, the first 25 minutes, but I didn't like the last 25 minutes, the last half an hour. 'I think we lacked the seriousness and the urgency that is needed in a World Cup qualifier. 'We played with fire and I didn't like the attitude in the end. I didn't like the body language and I think it was not what the occasion needed.' England tightened their grip at the top of Group K by continuing their 100 per cent start to World Cup qualification and life under Tuchel. 'In the end we played with fire, honestly,' the head coach reiterated at the RCDE Stadium. 'I felt it almost like in a cup game where the favourite does not smell the danger. 'I didn't feel a team that is aware it's only 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier because we were not happy with ourselves. 'I'm not blaming them, I even feel like (they felt) 'OK, we're not happy and this is stuck today, it will not happen today'. 'Step by step the energy dropped. We needed exactly the opposite but we couldn't deliver and so we got away with a win. 'I think we still deserved the win and we have three wins and three clean sheets. From there we go. 'We will not stop to encourage them and make clear after we have a proper look at the match what we want from them.' 'The booing is OK,' the England head coach said. 'First of all, the support was amazing, unbelievable. They created a fantastic atmosphere for a match like this. 'When I came out, straight away I was excited and they made it a very special atmosphere first of all. Following #EnglandAway 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👏 — England (@England) June 7, 2025 'They were underwhelmed and not happy with our performance, especially how we ended the first half, so I don't think we can blame them for that. 'We cannot even blame them how we ended the match. In the opposite. I thought they were fantastic throughout the whole match. 'I did not hear anything about what you said about abusive songs or chants, so if it happens of course it's not acceptable but I didn't hear it.'
