Bizarre plan revealed in Gold Logies speech
And in the midst of that speech, McGranger revealed a bizarre plan to chop the head off her Gold Logie and put her own ashes inside it.
"I also thought what I could do is in a few years' time when I die, I might chop the head off, scoop it out, and put the ashes in their, and screw the head back on and give it to Clancy, my beautiful daughter, who is here with me tonight, and she can put it on the mantelpiece," she explained.
Even host Sam Pang was taken aback, joking "more speeches should include the revealing of your funeral plans".
Lynne McGranger's Gold Logie promise 'better than Larry Emdur's'
Lynne McGranger has promised to carry the Gold Logie trophy around in her handbag for a year, a promise she says is far better than what last year's winner committed to.
"It's better than bearing my white arse on morning television, Larry!" she said, after Larry Emdur got a tattoo on his backside on live TV the day after his 2024 win.
She heaped praise on her colleagues at Home and Away, and all the people associated with the show, saying they keep it afloat with their "wonderful" work.
"For all of you fans, and those of you who keep free-to-air television alive, please, keep on doing what you're doing, and watching what you watch," she said.
Lynne McGranger wins Gold Logie
And there we have it.
Lynne McGranger has won the Gold Logie.
"Wear a pretty dress they said, you'll be fine they said," she began her speech after Sonia Kruger was left carrying the back of her dress up to the stage.
Apple Cider Vinegar wins first Logie
Apple Cider Vinegar has just won its first Logie, and it may feel bit of a disappointing night for a show nominated eight times across four categories.
The Netflix show won Best Miniseries or Telemovie, with its lack of wins of course down to Fisk's huge success tonight, which has won an astounding five Logies.
Lynne McGranger wins first of the night – is there another to come?
Well after a lengthy delivery, we think Manu Feildel just called Lynne McGranger Lynne McGregor. We'll forgive him, it's getting late.
He was announcing the winner of Best Lead Actress in a Drama, which is a fitting end to what will have been a stellar career on the set of Home and Away for McGranger.
"I am truly overwhelmed. I love my daughter and I love my husband. I asked him to come tonight and he said, 'I would rather swallow a hammer'" she said.
"Thank you, this means the world."
While over the moon, McGranger will undoubtedly have her eyes on the top award of the evening having been identified by many as tonight's favourite.
Fisk lands yet another Logie
Well it's certainly Fisk's night, having just claimed its fifth Logie award.
"I swear to God, this is the last time you will see me tonight, I am so sorry!" Kitty Flanagan joked as she picked up the award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy.
Tough crowd as plenty of jokes fail to land
Well it's been a bit underwhelming with the comedy so far this evening, with Sam Pang and presenters struggling to nail several jokes, hampered at times by several stutters.
But Cheap Seats hosts Melanie Bracewell and Tim McDonald certainly had the audience laughing, nailing the delivery of their gags.
And it was fitting they'd be handing over an award for Aaron Chen, one of the country's funniest comedians. Sadly, he couldn't be there to accept his award for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy for Fisk.
Fisk wins three Logies in a row
It's turning into a great night for ABC comedy Fisk, having just won three Logies in quick succession.
The show claimed the Best Scripted Comedy Program, Julia Zemiro won Best Supporting Actress and Glenn Butcher won Best Supporting Actor.
Magda insists Hall of Fame induction isn't because of her cancer diagnosis
We've just seen the Hall of Fame package for Magda Szubanski and there were endless words of praise for the comedy great.
From Richard E Grant to Rebel Wilson, dozens contributed to the montage, praising her talents and character.
Unable to attend the ceremony, Magda gave her acceptance speech via video.
Despite her recent cancer diagnosis, she insisted her induction was not a sympathy vote and was ultimately down to 40 years of hard work. "Lobbying, bribing, threatening, whatever it took, finally it has all paid off," she joked.
Addressing the outpouring of love she's received from the Australian public since her diagnosis, she broke down in tears.
Wrapping up her speech, she revealed her bald head and joked she had her "hair done specifically so it will match with my Gold Logie". Unsurprisingly, she received a standing ovation.
Logies drag on again
Well you think they would have learnt their lesson, wouldn't you?

Jelena Dokic hails 'massive' win for survivors
Well it's fair to say Jelena Dokic has moved viewers at home. She gave an emotional acceptance speech after Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story won the Best Factual or Documentary Program.
"I just want to thank you all. We have done a massive thing. This is not about winning. This is about a win for victims and survivors, especially of domestic violence and mental health," she said, prompting strong applause from the audience.
The show, which delves into the physical and mental abuse she received at the hands of her father and coach Damir, prompted widespread praise on its release, with Dokic hailed for her courage.

No surprises in the Children's Program category

Being one of the biggest success stories coming out of Australia in recent years, Bluey has, as expected by many, won Best Children's Program.
Hamish Blake addresses 'elephant in the room'
Hamish Blake has addressed the "elephant in the room", saying he actually "fears" winning the Gold Logie tonight.
The two-time winner said it was pretty obvious the masses didn't want another "middle-aged white guy" winning the top award, saying he felt like the drunk uncle in the room.
It's the first time ever six women are nominated for the award, with Blake the only man.

And looking for Gold Logie nominee Poh Ling Yeow, he took a swipe at diversity in the industry.
"You should be easy to find in this room," he quipped. That's a wrap

Lynne McGranger's Gold Logie promise 'better than Larry Emdur's'
Lynne McGranger has promised to carry the Gold Logie trophy around in her handbag for a year, a promise she says is far better than what last year's winner committed to.

A Breaking Musical Is a Fringe Hit. Just Don't Mention Raygun.
It was Saturday night at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and a woman dressed in the green and gold of an Australian Olympian was belting out a number about her journey to becoming the world's most notorious break dancer. 'I wanna achieve all my dreams,' she sang, 'I wanna dance like no one's watching.' Her story, told through silly songs, was remarkably similar to that of Rachel Gunn, better known as B-girl Raygun, the breaker whose unconventional routines at last summer's Paris Olympics — including a kangaroo impersonation — spawned mockery, memes and Halloween costumes. Yet at the start of 'Breaking: The Musical,' running at the Pleasance King Dome through Aug. 24, a disclaimer on a screen at the back of the stage had insisted that the musical wasn't about Raygun at all: It was actually about a 'completely fictional breakdancer from Australia' … called Spraygun. The disclaimer was essential. Last year, Gunn tried to shutter 'Breaking: The Musical,' saying that it would damage her brand. A promise not to use the name Raygun was part of a legal agreement that allowed the show to go on. Steph Broadbridge, the Australian comedian behind the musical, said in an interview that she had assumed Raygun would have wanted to 'be in on the joke' and give her Olympic saga a happy ending. The musical, added Broadbridge, 42, was 'nicer' to the dancer before the legal action. Since then, she added, 'There's been a few rewrites.' Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Classic hobby set to disappear as Australia goes cashless
For generations, savvy young Aussies have delighted in searching for lost coins and using them to buy little things like a haul of lollies, a feed of fish and chips, or a brand new Star Wars figurine. The best places were traditionally footy grounds at the end of a weekend game, festivals or beaches after a hot summer's day. Prospector Angus James loved finding old change as a kid, and now he works full-time searching for gold and other treasures. He still likes to take his own two children out looking for lost 20-cent pieces and the odd $2 coin, but finding any newly lost change is becoming rare. The reason is a simple one — people seldom carry cash in Australia these days. Around 30 years ago, when Angus was young, he'd head to empty paddocks after a festival and take home at least $200. 'Now, when people go out and do it, they'd be lucky to find $5 each. Everything is cashless, so it's making it hard to find the $1 and $2 coins,' he said. Related: Aussie prospector reveals secret maps to find fortune When Angus goes to footy ovals that have been in use for generations, he often finds pre-decimal currency under trees. People would sit down to have a rest in the shade and lose a coin or two. Gold rush-era campsites are another great place to find old treasures, and he regularly shares his finds on his Gold Coins and Relics Australia social media page. Last month, Angus even found an old Mexican reales coin, often referred to as 'pieces of eight' or silver dollars, and associated with pirate folklore. Little-known rule about old Australian coins The Royal Australian Mint told Yahoo News it's impossible to know how many old coins have been lost. While you're less likely to come across a newer coin lost in the grass, there's a little-known rule about pre-decimal currency that's still in place. 'Pre-decimal Australian currency can be exchanged for its face value at most commercial banks,' a Mint spokesperson told Yahoo. 😳 Strange backyard phenomenon worsens in tropical Australia ✈️ Rare animals were placed in backpacks and flown 570km to secure location 🎞️ Incredible Australian footage reveals native predator killing city rats Finding old coins isn't just about finding something of value. Many of the coins Angus unearths are relatively worthless, but they tell a story about early Australia and the people who lived here. 'Searching for newer coins is a bit of a lost cause. The good thing about finding old coins is you get a date, and you can have a think back to what it was like then,' he said. 'Now, you just don't get that history with dropped coins.'
