A video of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actor Achint Kaur asking for work went viral on social media.
Achint Kaur, known for her roles in shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, Jamai Raja, and others, recently shared a video on Instagram asking for work. The video went viral on social media, and the actress received a positive response, with many people reaching out to her. Now, the actress opened up about why she posted the video, and also shared what kept her away from the screen for the last few years. She revealed that her mother was battling cancer, and Achint couldn't work even when she wanted to.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Achint Kaur talked about the pause in her acting career and said, 'It was like a storm that lasted four years." She added, 'It's not like I didn't want to work, I couldn't. My mother was battling cancer, and for almost five years, my life became a routine of hospitals, treatments, and caretaking. I couldn't act even when I wanted to. I even tried giving auditions from my mother's hospital room, but nothing came of it." Achint revealed that she lost her mother last October.
She explained that even when work opportunities came her way, she often had to refuse as she couldn't commit fully. 'There were times I said yes to projects, but things didn't materialise. And other times, because of my mother's health, I just couldn't say yes. It was a mix of both — not always about not getting work but not being in a place to take it up," she explained. She also added that the industry shift made things harder. While she has connections in television, she didn't know who to contact for web series and OTT content.
Achint Kaur said that putting out the video on Instagram, asking for work, helped. 'I'm not ashamed to ask. Sometimes, you just have to let people know you're ready," she said.
Kaur made her acting debut in 1994 with television show 'Banegi Apni Baat'. She was last seen on television in Ravie Dubey and Nia Sharma's Jamai Raja 2.0, in 2020. She was also seen in the film 'Ghudchadi' which released in 2024.

Revathi Kamath, mother of Zerodha co-founders, takes Bengaluru Metro: Check her Instagram post

Revathi Kamath, the mother of Zerodha co-founders Nikhil and Nithin Kamath, praised Bengaluru Metro in an Instagram post. The environmentalist shared a photo in a pink saree, standing in the women's coach. 'Travelling in Metro is so much convenient and that too in female compartment!!!' she wrote. In her Instagram bio, she calls herself an 'environmentalist and Veena player'. There is no mention of her remarkably-accomplished sons. However, in an earlier interview, she praised her sons. 'I have brought them up to contribute. My sons, especially Nithin, tell me – 'You do it with your own money and don't depend on any organisations, only then people will recognise you.' Nikhil at times will transfer money for a project to me without asking anything,' she told Indian Express. Social media users reacted to her Bengaluru Metro post. One of them wrote, 'Looks like you really enjoyed your metro ride, Revathi.' 'Are u planning to buy Bangalore Metro,' quipped another. Balancing home life and motherhood, she slowly built her name. She opened a small flower shop in Jayanagar, which grew quickly. She later started Calyx, an event company that handled weddings and big corporate events. When Bosch asked her to do landscaping, she self-studied the subject and bagged her first ₹ 4.5 lakh project. Soon, she became a top landscape expert and handled projects for prestigious companies like Tata Steel.
