Hyperbots, which builds agentic AI co-pilots for finance and accounting operations, has raised $6.5 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Arkam Ventures and Athera Venture Partners.New investor JSW Ventures and existing backers Kalaari Capital, Sunicon Ventures, and Darashaw & Company also participated in the round.
The Bengaluru- and US-based startup will use the funds to expand its presence in the US, build new co-pilots, and launch HyperLM—a proprietary large language model pre-trained on vast amounts of finance and accounting data.
Founded in 2023 by Niyati Chhaya, Ram Jayaraman, and Rajeev Pathak, Hyperbots offers AI-powered tools that automate key finance and accounting tasks such as processing invoices, matching and reconciling entries, managing accruals, validating taxes and checking payment terms. 'There are use cases in finance and accounting where an AI agent can achieve straight through tasks with no human touch. We are transforming finance operations and freeing human bandwidths for doing higher order tasks,' said Rajeev Pathak, cofounder and CEO of Hyperbots.
The startup currently employs around 55 people, with the majority based in its engineering team in Bengaluru.
Hyperbots' platform, which he says has been trained on over 30 million finance-specific data points, is tailored for mid-market enterprises in the US. The company noted that while finance teams globally have embraced digitisation, many still depend on manual processes, siloed systems, and outdated reporting cycles. The startup claims its AI co-pilots can reduce manual effort by up to 80% and deliver 99.8% accuracy in document processing, resulting in faster turnarounds and significant cost savings.Hyperbots currently serves clients across sectors such as healthcare, media, EV infrastructure and retail, and is on track to onboard over 100 customers this fiscal year.'We were impressed by the accuracy and product breadth of the Hyperbots agentic AI suite for such a young company. We are excited to back the Hyperbots team that combines deep AI expertise with a relentless focus on customer value and satisfaction,' said Bala Srinivasa, managing director, Arkam Ventures.

Singapore, KL routes keep Trichy in India's top 6 Southeast Asia hubs

Trichy: A surge in passenger traffic has helped Trichy International Airport retain its sixth position as the busiest international airport connecting India with Southeast Asian countries in the financial year 2024-25. In this category, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata airports ranked higher than Trichy. According to air traffic data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Trichy airport handled 9.4 lakh passengers flying between Trichy and Southeast Asian countries in 2024-25, compared to nine lakh in 2023-24. Although the number of flight services (62 per week) between Trichy and Southeast Asia has remained unchanged, a higher occupancy rate accounted for the 4.5% surge in passenger traffic. In the last financial year, Trichy was connected to only three destinations in Southeast Asia, namely Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, and Bangkok (Thailand). Of the total 9.4 lakh passengers handled, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur routes contributed 58% and 40%, respectively, while Bangkok accounted for 2%. Despite offering services only to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore after the Bangkok service was suspended, Trichy outperformed major international airports like Hyderabad and Kochi in Southeast Asia-bound traffic. "Occupancy of the services has improved significantly. Still, there is demand for additional and premium flight services. Indian air carriers continue to ignore this sector, leaving it to foreign carriers to connect Trichy with Southeast Asia," H Ubaidullah, an independent aviation analyst, said. Meanwhile, beyond Malaysia and Singapore, demand is rising for connections to other Southeast Asian destinations such as Thailand and Vietnam. Experts have urged the restoration of services between Ho Chi Minh City and Trichy, which were once in operation, as Vietnam-based industries are increasingly investing in non-leather footwear and automobile manufacturing sectors across Tamil Nadu. "We must look beyond Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to strengthen Trichy airport as a hub to reach Southeast Asia. Indian airline operators will be approached to launch new flight services and capitalise on the growing demand from Trichy," Durai Vaiko, MP and chairman of the Trichy Airport Advisory Committee, told TOI. Grounded Foods: Five Years of Quiet Revolution The arrival of their child in 2010 opened Anil and Lalitha's eyes to the uncomfortable truth about food safety. Today, many experience what Grounded calls "post-meal syndrome" -- an unnecessary stress on the mind and gut caused by modern, compromised food. Hailing from farming families and rooted in real food traditions, they began making clean staples for their own family, then decided to extend the same to others. Combining Anil's 25 years of experience in sales and marketing with Lalitha's technological expertise, they built Grounded Foods -- a transparent brand committed to clean and safe ingredients. Operating from Bengaluru, the couple built something extraordinary without spending on advertisements or PR. Through pure word-of-mouth, over 8,000 families discovered their LiveMilled™ made-to-order approach, fresh CultureCraft™ Batters, AirMilled™ Flours, LegacyBlends™ Masalas, and WoodBorn™ Oils. Their GutPriority™ nutrition philosophy combines traditional Indian food wisdom with modern health science, creating preservative-free staples that honor both heritage and wellness. Five years later, Grounded represents more than a food brand -- it's proof that authentic quality still finds its audience. For more information, visit: 4. Jupiter to set up solar cell unit in Butibori

Nagpur: The Vidarbha region is steadily emerging as a sustainable energy hub, with more companies showing interest in setting up units—particularly in Nagpur. After Avadaa and Waaree, West Bengal-based Jupiter International Limited is planning to establish a manufacturing facility in the additional Butibori industrial area. The company is looking to invest ₹15,000 crore in the sustainable energy sector, and its Nagpur unit is expected to further accelerate the region's growth. Apart from Jupiter, JSW Group and Anil Ambani-led Reliance Industries are also exploring solar panel manufacturing facilities in Nagpur, according to sources. The state industries department is already in talks with Jupiter International to set up a solar cell manufacturing unit, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) is likely to be signed soon. If finalised, this will be the company's first plant in Maharashtra. While Avadaa Group has begun operations, Waaree Group is set to hold a groundbreaking ceremony within the next fortnight. Jupiter International, meanwhile, already operates a solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing unit at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, with an overall capacity of 800 MW, including a 500 MW mono PERC solar cell facility. As per its website, the company aims to become a 10 GW vertically integrated solar power entity. In Nagpur, the company is expected to be allotted 250 acres of land by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). At the same time, the state government is in discussions with a defence manufacturer planning to invest ₹12,000 crore in a drone manufacturing facility. An MoU with the company is also expected soon, sources added. Much like renewable energy, Vidarbha is also emerging as an aviation hub. Reliance Infrastructure Limited (RAL), led by Anil Ambani, has announced plans to manufacture Falcon Jets at its joint venture facility with France's Dassault. Ammunition maker Solar Group has also proposed setting up a unit to produce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). "The influx of multiple industries in the region is expected to boost ancillarisation, ultimately benefiting local MSMEs," said Nitin Lonkar, president of the Butibori Manufacturers Association (BMA).
