KTM has expanded its Duke family with the introduction of the all-new 160 Duke, marking its entry into the competitive 160cc performance bike segment. This new streetfighter becomes the entry point into KTM's lineup, replacing the now-discontinued 125 Duke, and makes the Austrian brand's 'ready to race' DNA more accessible to India's growing base of sport bike enthusiasts.
advertisementPowered by a lightweight 164.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, the KTM 160 Duke delivers a class-leading 19bhp at 9,500rpm and 15.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm, making it the most powerful motorcycle in its category.
Built on KTM's signature split trellis frame with an engineered swingarm, the Duke 160 promises agility, stability, and superior cornering performance. The use of bionic light wheels, a lighter hugger tube, and specially-casted subframes reduces weight without compromising strength, improving handling and the power-to-weight ratio. The bike also features an optimised WP Apex USD front fork with hollow axle for improved rigidity, while the casted pillion step holder and sleek grab rail enhance both aesthetics and ergonomics.
Suspension duties are handled by WP USD front forks (138mm travel) and a WP monoshock (161mm travel), ensuring class-leading ride comfort and precision. Braking confidence comes from a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, paired with dual-channel ABS and off-road ABS for added safety.
On the tech front, the 160 Duke gets a 5-inch LCD display, smartphone connectivity with call and music control, turn-by-turn navigation, microswitch controls, and KTM's connected app support. With a 1,357mm wheelbase and aggressive streetfighter styling, the KTM Duke 160 blends sharp aesthetics with everyday usability. It will be available in Electronic Orange, Atlantic Blue, and Silver Metallic Matte colour options.
According to KTM, the Duke 160 opens a new gateway for young riders aspiring to own their first premium sport motorcycle, joining the naked street portfolio that now spans 160cc to 400cc. In a matter of weeks, the RC 160 will also join the lineup.advertisementThe KTM Duke 160 is priced at Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), comes with a 10-year extended warranty, and will start shipping to dealerships in the next 3–4 days. Bookings are open at KTM dealerships nationwide and on www.ktmindia.com.
KTM India President, Probiking, Manik Nangia, said, "Inside every one of us is a racer. We all have that instinct to compete and push limits. For over a decade, KTM has given that instinct expression — defining India's premium sport motorcycle category with an uncompromising 'Ready to Race' mindset and thrilling generations of young riders. With the new KTM 160 Duke, we've distilled KTM's legendary DNA into performance motorcycles that are more accessible than ever — without sacrificing the performance, precision, and attitude that define every KTM."Subscribe to Auto Today Magazine- Ends

2026 KTM 690 Enduro R And 690 SMC R Break Cover

KTM has unveiled the latest 2026 versions of the 690 Enduro R and the 690 SMC R. These motorcycles employ the brand's well-known LC4 engine, but in a heavily reworked form. Along with this, the bike gets revisions in ergonomics, aesthetics, and changes in the electronics suite to improve its capabilities. All while maintaining the off-road style. Starting with the heart of the bikes, the KTM 690 SMC R and the Enduro R both get the 690 cc LC4 motor, famed for being the most powerful single-cylinder on the market. It has been reworked using a new crankcase, oil delivery system, fuel pump, clutch, and revised valve timing to kick out 79 hp of power and 73 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, the secondary air system has been eliminated for a more straightforward intake configuration, and the exhaust system has been redesigned with a more compact muffler. Throttle response has been enhanced due to a new 65 degree twist grip, and KTM has increased maintenance intervals. Along with all of the aforementioned changes, the KTM 690 Enduro R features revised bodywork with LED lighting, accompanied by mold-in graphics, and a relocated centre-stand mount. Meanwhile, both bikes continue to be supported by WP suspensions tuned for off-road duties. In terms of features, the upgrades can be seen in the form of a new 4.2-inch color TFT screen instead of the old LCD dash featuring KTMconnect smartphone integration, USB-C charging, controls for music and calls, and turn-by-turn navigation, along with new backlit switchgear and a specific button to disable ABS. Rider assistance features now include lean-sensitive cornering ABS and cornering MTC as standard, with the Enduro R offering a Rally mode that provides adjustable traction and motor slip regulation, while the SMC R features a Track mode with launch control, a five-stage anti-wheelie system, a slip adjuster, and Supermoto-specific ABS configurations.
