Msheireb Downtown Doha launches ‘Checklist V3: Back to School 2025'

Following a successful summer of programming at Msheireb Downtown Doha—featuring acclaimed Msheireb Museums workshops and popular Msheireb Galleria activations—there is a new scheme on offer. 'Checklist V3: Back to School 2025', Msheireb Downtown Doha's new programme, introducing the innovative Academy concept. This comprehensive, family-friendly indoor experience will run from August 14 to 30 at Msheireb Galleria.
The 17-day seasonal activation will debut the 'MDD Academy' concept, transforming Msheireb Galleria into an interactive educational environment. Building on the success of its two previous editions, this year's programme expands stakeholder engagement to include the Ministry of Culture, alongside the continued support of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, as well as various governmental and private partners such as Karwa Academy, Sports Beat, Jamm Studio, and Logischool.
The activation features:
• Themed Learning Zones: Interactive classrooms with educational technology and hands-on workshops
• Specialised Activity Areas: Learning, reading, safety education, sports, music, and logic-based experiences
• School Preparation Hub: Educational activities and school supply retail opportunities
• Interactive Arcade: 'The Hangout' is an arcade zone featuring gaming machines and interactive entertainment, accessible with a QR 25 ticket that also includes entry to the activation area
• Stage Shows: Families can enjoy lively kids' entertainment with stage shows, quizzes, and an interactive theatrical experience
The activation will run daily from 3 pm to 10 pm, with an entrance fee of QR 25, offering families a comprehensive back-to-school preparation experience that blends education, culture, and entertainment in a welcoming environment.
This seasonal programme reflects Msheireb Properties' commitment to delivering meaningful, community-driven experiences that create memorable moments for all age groups, while supporting families during the academic preparation period.

Qatar Photography Center opens entries for inaugural Doha Photography Award
QNA Doha The Qatar Photography Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, has announced the launch of submissions for the inaugural Doha Photography Award — a landmark cultural and artistic initiative aimed at supporting visual creativity and promoting Qatar's photographic identity. Entries will be accepted fromAugust 10 to October 2. The award offers a professional platform for photographers from within Qatar and abroad, regardless of age or experience, across six main categories: the Qatar category, which highlights the country's landmarks; General – Colour; General – Black and White; Special Theme – Emotions; Storytelling, for a series of photographs narrating a complete visual story; and a Special Theme category dedicated to emerging Qatari photographers under the age of 18. The total prize pool exceeds QR 2 million, with a grand prize of up to QR 300,000 awarded for first place in the Qatar category. Other categories will offer prizes of QR 150,000 for first place, QR 100,000 for second, and QR 75,000 for third. All submissions must be taken with professional cameras and must not be generated using artificial intelligence technologies. The use of logos or watermarks is prohibited, and entries must meet technical standards that ensure the quality of the submitted work. On this occasion, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain, director of the Qatar Photography Center, expressed pride in launching the first edition of the Doha Photography Award, noting that the centre aims to provide a global platform that embraces both local and international talent, giving photographers the opportunity to showcase their creativity and document moments that reflect the beauty of Qatar.
