There were 36 passengers on board at the time of the accident, most of whom belonged to Darlaghat in Solan district.
The locals were the first to reach the accident spot and inform the police and emergency services. They also helped to take out the injured from the bus. A police officer said all the injured were taken to AIIMS Bilaspur and other govt hospitals in Bilaspur. The officer mentioned that the police were inquiring into the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited AIIMS in Bilaspur to enquire about the well-being of the injured . He met the injured and assured them of all possible assistance. The CM directed the hospital administration to ensure prompt and best medical care for the injured.

The last rites of a 19-year-old teacher, whose death will be probed by the CBI, were held in Bhiwani on Thursday (August 21, 2025). The teacher's body was found in a field in Bhiwani on August 13. On Thursday (August 21, 2025), the Haryana government extended the suspension of mobile internet, bulk SMS (excluding banking and mobile recharge) and all dongle services provided on mobile networks except voice calls in the Bhiwani district for 24 hours from 11 a.m. On Wednesday (August 20, 2025), Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had said that based on the demand of the woman teacher's family, the government would hand over the probe into her death to the CBI. After a third autopsy was conducted at AIIMS, Delhi on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) afternoon, her body reached Bhiwani late last evening. Earlier, the post-mortem examinations had been conducted at the Bhiwani Civil Hospital and the PGIMS Hospital in Rohtak. On Thursday (August 21, 2025) morning, her last rites were conducted with a large number of people in her native village Dhani Laxman in Bhiwani attending the cremation. They had urged the government for a probe by the CBI and an autopsy of the deceased at AIIMS, Delhi. It expressed apprehensions that inflammatory content, rumours and misinformation on social media platforms could incite agitation, violence, arson and vandalism. When she failed to return home by evening, her father contacted the police through Dial-112, Haryana's emergency response system. The family alleged that although the police accompanied them to the college, they only questioned three intoxicated men who claimed not to have seen her and stated that the college had closed at 1 PM. Her body was discovered on August 13 in a field near a canal. The initial postmortem was conducted at Bhiwani Civil Hospital, followed by a second examination at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS, Rohtak). However, the family raised serious concerns about the condition of the body, which was reportedly missing vital organs, including the neck, and demanded a third autopsy at AIIMS. The unusual circumstances surrounding her death, and the alleged mishandling of the case, sparked widespread protests across the state, with students and residents joining in. The Opposition also criticised the BJP-led Haryana government, accusing it of a collapse in law and order, even as Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini insisted he had been receiving minute-by-minute updates from the police, and that several people were interrogated in connection with the case. In response to the growing unrest, the Haryana Government transferred the Bhiwani superintendent of police, and suspended some other officers. Meanwhile, the Haryana Police, citing the viscera report and other evidence, suggested the possibility of suicide. This theory was firmly rejected by her family and the villagers, who refused to allow the cremation until their demands for a CBI investigation and an AIIMS autopsy were fulfilled. Tensions escalated in the village as residents blocked roads leading to the cremation ground with tree branches and stones to prevent any attempt at a forcible cremation. The police deployed a JCB machine to clear the route. A heavy police presence was maintained throughout the area to ensure order. Once the demands were met, the cremation was conducted peacefully, with the teacher's younger brother performing the final ritual.
