Hairy Biker Si King reveals hidden talent that drove best mate Dave Myers mad
Si King is a familiar face in the culinary industry and best known as one half of the Hairy Bikers along with his best mate, the late Dave Myers.
The pair have toured the UK, showing audiences how to cook great food, they've released cookbooks and certainly made a mark on the industry.
But did you know about King's hidden talent that's got nothing to do with cooking?
A long time before he became part of the iconic cooking duo with Myers, King played in various bands and toured with them, playing the drums, reports The Metro.
While his cooking became his main focus, touring took a backseat but this didn't stop him getting on Myers' nerves as he'd tap on surfaces instead.
King told The Metro jokily: ''Oh he loved it'' before adding: 'I used to drive him mad, he'd go: 'For god sake man, will you stop tapping? Can we just listen to the track? Do you have to sing it as well?'
'I'd go 'Alright, fair enough' and then do it anyway. He'd just put up with it.'
Now that the Hairy Bikers are no more, King is embracing his musical side and he'll perform a set with Groovetrain at London's The Water Rats on Saturday, March 29.
The band's set list will include covers and original songs.
Myers found fame alongside King as part of the motorcycle-riding cooking duo and died at age 66 in February 2024 after being diagnosed with cancer.
King said it was 'tough' but also 'very cathartic' to put together a Hairy Bikers cookbook while grieving his co-star and friend Dave Myers.
King, 58, released a new cookbook titled The Best Of The Hairy Bikers: Timeless Recipes That Everyone Loves, published on March 13.
He reflected on the difficulties of knowing what recipes to include after years of cooking with Myers.
Speaking to Kate Garraway and Robert Rinder on ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB), he said: 'The whole process, Rob, was really evocative and nostalgic. It was lovely.
'It was really difficult. So we've produced around about 30 cookbooks, so that's a significant amount of recipes.

'So we kept going backwards and forwards to the publishers, going, 'Can we have 250?' They were like, 'No, you can't. You can have 150. Actually, no, you can't even have 120′.

The trailer, released Tuesday, follows features Joe Freeman as Luke Ellis, a teen genius who is kidnapped into a facility called The Institute, where he finds himself among other abducted children with special abilities. "In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Ben Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won't last, as his story and Luke's are destined to collide," the official synopsis reads. The Institute is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, who also serves as executive producer alongside Jack Bender. The cast also includes Mary-Louise Parker, Simone Miller, Fionn Laird, Hannah Galway, Julian Richings, Robert Joy and Martin Roach. The first two episodes of The Institute premiere July 13 on MGM+.

The inclusion of the co-ed school was to recruit a smaller group of boys for comparison, explained the study's lead investigator, Dr Jacqueline Lee Tilley. Researchers have defined a top school as as schools where students consistently perform well in national exams or co-curricular activities. This study is the first of its kind in Singapore and will be conducted over three years, from 2025 to 2028.
