Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man might swing back into Marvel. But it would be 'stranger' than what fans expect

Andrew Garfield
has once again addressed the possibility of reprising his role as Spider-Man, emphasizing that any potential return would have to be 'very weird.' Speaking at the Middle East Film & Comic Con, the actor stated that he would only consider revisiting the character under conditions that allow for a unique and creatively offbeat direction. His comments have reignited fan interest, especially after his surprise appearance alongside Tobey Maguire and
Tom Holland
in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Garfield expressed a clear preference for creative freedom in any future projects. He referenced the animated Spider-Verse films, which are known for their experimental style and multiversal storytelling. 'It would have to be very weird. I would like to do something very strange. Something very unique, and offbeat and surprising, kind of like the creative freedom they have with the animated Spider-Verse movies,' he said.

Garfield's portrayal of Spider-Man began in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and continued in the 2014 sequel. Although both films performed well at the box office, plans for a third installment were scrapped after a new agreement between Sony and Marvel led to Tom Holland taking over the role in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). Reflecting on that period in an interview with Esquire, Garfield revealed he felt 'left dangling' when his time as Spider-Man ended abruptly following the second film's underperformance.

Despite his initial departure, Garfield's return in No Way Home was met with enthusiasm. Rumors had circulated before the film's release, but the actor consistently denied involvement to preserve the film's surprises. His reappearance, alongside Tobey Maguire, played a major role in the movie's global success.
The Future of Spider-Man: Holland Leads, Garfield Speculated
With speculation ongoing, Garfield has not confirmed any involvement in future live-action or animated projects. However, his remarks have led fans to hope for another appearance — potentially in a multiverse narrative, where various versions of Spider-Man can coexist.
Meanwhile, Tom Holland is set to reprise his role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony officially announced the film at CinemaCon, revealing a July 31, 2026, release date. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie draws inspiration from a 2008 comic storyline in which Peter Parker's identity is erased from public memory — a development that aligns with the ending of No Way Home. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, the writers of No Way Home, return to write this next installment.
While Garfield has ruled out involvement in Holland's next chapter, fan theories persist, particularly around a possible cameo. Some fans also speculate about his appearance in Beyond the Spider-Verse, though the film's uncertain release date makes any connection purely theoretical for now.
Despite not completing a trilogy, Garfield's version of Spider-Man remains beloved by many. His thoughtful and emotionally resonant performance has only grown in appreciation over time. Speaking on The A24 Podcast, Garfield discussed his initial reluctance with fame and the pressure of portraying a cultural icon. 'I know I'm not ready for this level of scrutiny,' he said, adding that he feared losing his sense of self during the peak of his Spider-Man years.
With his renewed openness to return under the right conditions, Garfield has left the door ajar. Whether through a live-action film, an animated multiverse tale, or an entirely new format, the possibility of seeing his Spider-Man again remains an exciting, if uncertain, prospect for fans worldwide.

Can you get Lies of P on Xbox Game Pass?

Lies of P Overture (Image via Neowiz). Lies of P , the soulslike action RPG that reimagines the Pinocchio tale in a dark Belle Époque setting, is no longer available on Xbox Game Pass . The game was removed from the subscription service on March 15, 2025, shortly before the launch of its first major DLC, Overture. Initially, Lies of P was a Day One release on Xbox Game Pass in 2023, allowing subscribers to play it at no extra cost. However, Microsoft's decision to rotate it out means players now need to purchase the game separately if they want to experience its challenging combat and twisted narrative. Why was Lies of P removed from Xbox Game Pass? Lies of P Overture - Let's Play Part 1: Krat Zoo Microsoft regularly updates its Xbox Game Pass library, adding and removing titles to keep the lineup fresh. Lies of P was part of a wave of removals that also included: - Yakuza 5 Remastered - Evil West This rotation strategy ensures new games are introduced but can disappoint players who relied on the service for access. How to play Lies of P now Since the game is no longer on Xbox Game Pass, players have two options: 1. Purchase the base game – Lies of P is still available on Xbox and PC via digital stores. 2. Buy the DLC separately – The Overture expansion, released in June 2025, requires the base game. Owning the game outright guarantees uninterrupted access to all future updates and expansions. What the Overture DLC adds to the Lies of P experience The Overture DLC serves as a prequel, expanding the lore of Krat and introducing new story elements. Key features include: - A deeper dive into the game's steampunk world - New weapons and enemies - Additional narrative layers to the main story Players who enjoyed the base game will find this expansion a worthwhile addition. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 오스템 임플란트 받아가세요 임플란터 더 알아보기 Undo While Lies of P is no longer on Xbox Game Pass, it remains a compelling experience for fans of challenging action RPGs. Nintendo sets new record with 3.5 million Switch 2 units sold on opening weekend

Nintendo announced Wednesday that 3.5 million Switch 2 consoles were sold worldwide during the opening weekend, selling out and surpassing its predecessor. This marks a successful debut for the Switch 2, which had been expected to perform well due to pent-up demand for Nintendo's next-generation console, released eight years after the original Switch. The numbers released directly by Nintendo show strong consumer sentiment for the Switch 2. The Kyoto-based company says the Switch 2's sales figures marked the highest global sales for any Nintendo hardware within the first four days of release. The Switch 2 was released last Thursday in Nintendo's major markets, including the US, where gamers lined up at midnight to buy the console. Although Nintendo's new systems often debut with groundbreaking features—like the Wii's motion controls or the DS's touch screen—the Switch 2 marks a more iterative update to the original Switch. Released in 2017, the original Switch was wildly popular, selling 15 million units in its first year and introducing the hybrid form factor, allowing players to enjoy games both on the go and at home. Nintendo has sold 152 million units of Switch since its debut. That makes it the third best-selling console of all time, only behind Sony's PlayStation 2 and Nintendo's DS With the Switch 2, Nintendo hasn't changed the successful formula but has added a larger and better screen, improved performance, better Joy-Con controller and a higher price tag of $450. The Japanese gaming giant hopes the Switch 2 will attract new users, especially those unfamiliar with Nintendo's iconic characters like Mario and Zelda. The company is betting on familiar titles such as Mario Kart World, a brand-new entry in the Mario Kart franchise, which it hopes will drive sales of the Switch 2. Last month, Nintendo said it expects to sell 15 million units of the Switch 2 console in the fiscal year ending March 2026. However, analysts have called that estimate conservative. Dr. Serkan Toto of Kantan Games said he is forecasting sales of 20 million units in the first year. The success of the Switch 2 is critical for Nintendo and its broader ambition to evolve into an entertainment company akin to Disney. In recent years, Nintendo has diversified its business, expanding into theme parks and movies, though 90 percent of its revenue still comes from hardware. Analysts expect the Switch 2 to surpass the lifetime sales of the original Switch, giving Nintendo a new high. The strong reception and fandom surrounding the Switch 2 are already being compared to the early years of the iPhone. However, US tariffs remain a major concern for Nintendo, which manufactures its consoles in Asia.

Mom's passing is a void that nothing can ever fill: Niilam Paanchal

Niilam Paanchal with her mom Vasantiben Panchal Niilam Paanchal, who lost her mom Vasantiben Panchal in March, has resumed working. The actress, currently seen in the Hindi TV show Saru , shares, 'Her death is a void that nothing can fill. I miss mom every day.' 'I think I got my new show due to mom's blessings' Recalling the day when she got a call to audition for Saru, Niilam, who lives in Mumbai, shares, 'My mom was in hospital and I was with her 24*7. So, I was not keen to audition for the project, but my mother told me, 'You must do it, you will get this show.' I had to go for a mock shoot in Naigaon and when I returned, mom's condition had deteriorated. The day we lost her, I got a call confirming that I had been selected. I was not in a state to process that information. ' Niilam adds, 'I started shooting for the show barely a week after my mom's death, and it was a very difficult time for me. But my co-actors have been supportive and understanding. In a way, it is good that I started working because otherwise, I really don't know what I would have done. The show went on air on mom's birthday. I feel I got it due to her blessings.' 'I am keen to do more Gujarati films ' Before Saru, Niilam was seen in the TV show Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua, which went off air in February. She shares, 'Be it Ishqbaaaz , Hamari Devrani , Lajwanti or other shows, I have always played negative roles on TV. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Thousands Are Saving Money Using This Wall Plug elecTrick - Save upto 80% on Power Bill Click Here Undo In Saru, I am playing a positive character on the small screen for the first time and it's a great feeling.' In D-Town, she was last seen in the film Nasoor (2024). In an earlier interview, the Hellaro, 21mu Tiffin and Vash actress had told us, 'I was being offered mother's roles but don't want to play moms to 40-year-olds on screen.' Asked about her plans of making a D-Town comeback, she says, 'I am very keen to do more Gujarati films. It's refreshing to see that age-appropriate roles are being written now for women in Gujarati films too. In my TV show contract, it is mentioned that I will take a break and shoot for Gujarati films if I get one. But surprisingly, while I used to be offered a lot of Gujarati films earlier, I have not been offered any in recent times. My husband (Mihir Rajda) is a terrific actor and I am glad he made a successful debut in Gujarati films with Mithada Maheman . I hope we get to see more of him in Gujarati films.' 'I start crying whenever I remember mom during little moments' Talking about her mom's contribution in her journey, Niilam says, 'I lost my dad when I was just four-and-a-half years old. We are four sisters and mom struggled a lot to bring us up so beautifully. Our financial condition wasn't great, and she had to sell her jewellery. Woh silaai ka bhi kaam karti thi. Back then, a lot of people would say that there was no need to send girls to college, but mom made sure that I completed my graduation. When I started getting acting offers and shifted to Mumbai in 2008, I told her that I wanted to pursue it and she supported me. I had promised her that I would make her proud and when I won the National Award for Hellaro, it was a huge win for both of us. I could fulfil my dreams only because of her.' She adds, 'During her last moments, mom told me, 'Mere jaane ke baad tum logon ka kya hoga? Mann laga ke kaam karna, aur tumhari beti ko khoob padhana.' I still start crying when I remember her during little moments, and there are times I can't sleep at night. However, the show must go on. I hope I continue to do good work so that up there, she can be proud of me.'
