SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters' brave line-up revealed where stars swim with sharks

Yahoo4 days ago

The brave stars taking the plunge in new reality series SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters have been revealed from Call the Midwife star Helen George to Countdown's Rachel Riley.
Forget SAS: Who Dares Wins and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, celebrities will be confronting their fear of sharks on this new reality series format.
To mark the major milestone of 50 years of the three-time Oscar-winning film Jaws, ocean-phobic celebrities will swim with sharks. Filmed in the shark capital of the world, AKA the Bahamas, the stars will be pushed to their limits.
They will be diving with different sharks and the breeds will get more dangerous each time. The show is filmed on the Bahamas island Bimini where there are 7-10 different breeds of sharks. On the island there are Hammerheads, Bull sharks and Tiger sharks.
The stars must tackle fear inducing challenges head on while learning about the important role of sharks in the ocean.
Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning ITV said: "SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters promises to be a once in a lifetime challenge for some of the bravest celebrities out there."
Karen Plumb, Head of Factual Entertainment, Plimsoll Productions added: "We're constantly looking for innovative approaches to wildlife storytelling and are certain that our fish-out-of-water spin — delivering 50 years after Jaws — will transform the world's perception of these critical predators before it's too late."
So who are the courageous celebrities diving with sharks?
Rachel Riley, 39, is best known as the co-presenter of Channel 4 show Countdown and its spin off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The mathematics graduate has undertaken a totally different challenge by swimming with sharks in the Bahamas.
She teases on Instagram of the experience: "I'll finally be able to talk about what was a completely life changing experience. You'll wish I was still embargoed for how much I'll want to talk about it. One more sleep…!"
Actor Helen George, 40, is best known for her role as Trixie in BBC show Call The Midwife but she has a new unexpected role this year.
She has experimented with reality TV before, having starred on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 but this time she's heading to the Bahamas to swim with sharks.
Of the experience, she says: "One of the most insane experiences of my life, learning about this incredible creatures, with equally incredible humans."
McFly's Dougie Poynter, 37, is putting his bravery to the test once again.
It's been more than a decade since he was crowned the king of the jungle on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2011. Now he's stepping back into the reality TV world with a stint on SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters.
As a supporter of environmental causes, he has previously released a children's book Plastic Sucks! You Can Make A Difference to raise awareness about the small changes we can make to help save the planet.
Sir Lenny Henry, 66, says he keeps saying no to Strictly — so instead he said yes to diving with sharks!
The British-Jamaican comedian, actor and writer has been on our screens since he was 16 years old but he has never done anything as daring as SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters before.
Paralympic medalist and TV presenter Ade Adepitan, 52, has set another huge goal to achieve as he goes diving with sharks.
Of the adventure, he says: "I'm buzzing to announce I'm diving into a brand new show — SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters with these legends!"
Stand-up comedian and actor Ross Noble, 48, has made regular appearances on Have I Got News for You?
No doubt the funnyman will be cracking jokes as he conquers the real-life fears of sharks on the new reality series.
Lucy Punch, 47, is immediately recognisable as Amanda in the BBC sitcoms Motherland and Amandaland.
The actor is back on our TVs soon again with an unforeseen challenge. This time, she is going to be in the water with sharks for real on SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters.
SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters is coming soon to ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

Wake Up With Rooftop Paddleboard Yoga at The Maybourne Beverly Hills Super Swanky Pool

Wake Up With Rooftop Paddleboard Yoga at The Maybourne Beverly Hills Super Swanky Pool originally appeared on L.A. Mag. Paddleboard yoga has long been a craze in Los Angeles. But for those of us who are terrified of the pounding waves of the Pacific Ocean, or hear the theme from Jaws when venturing too far from the shore, the floating yoga studio at The Maybourne Beverly Hills is a great way to jump into the aquatic workout. This month, The Maybourne Beverly Hills began offering YOGAqua classes in the stunning pool in the picturesque pool on the hotel's ninth floor led by the technique's founder Sarah Tiefenthaler, who started her SUP [standup paddleboard] business on Mother's Beach in Marina del Rey in 2011. The class promises participants a 60-minute, Vinyasa-style session that is accessible for any level, seasoned yogis or terrified beginners (like me). "No previous yoga or SUP experience is required—just a willingness to try something new and embrace a little wobble," the hotel promises. With a class costing just $30 bucks - which includes a complimentary juice from The Maybourne Café after the practice - it's a steal for anyone who wants to learn the practice in calm, still waters without the fear of jellyfish or sharks. The partnership with YOGAqua is part of a trend that multiple luxury hotels are leaning into: inviting residents of their areas to participate in the spa or pool offerings. The Shay in Culver City has teamed up with ResortPass for a $25 dollar entry deal for its rooftop pool, one of the many boutique hotels who are swinging open its doors to Angelenos for staycations. Next Thursday, The Maybourne Beverly Hills will be the site for the pride party celebration hosted by Los Angeles that will include a slew of special guests including our June cover star Matt Bomer. This story was originally reported by L.A. Mag on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Through the Lens: Nikk Martin for Paul & Shark

'I didn't grow up wanting to be a photographer,'Nikk Martinbegins telling Hypebeast. 'But at some point, I realized the camera gave me permission to slow down, to look at people more closely, to connect. And I think I've been chasing that feeling ever since.' Known for his evocative photography style, the Berlin-based visual artist boasts a rich portfolio that focuses on framing intimate moments between the camera and his subjects. Garnering widespread acclaim for his images' unique color palette, highlighted by the use of analogue photography and often arduous film developing processing, which permeates his images that occupy multiple disciplines from still life, environmental landscapes, dynamic visuals, and many more. Approaching his process with a natural flair, it's all about being in the moment and paying attention to his surroundings that helps Martin capture the perfect shot, explaining, 'Some of my best moments have come from letting go, just being present and reacting to what's really happening.' For the latest installment of theThrough the Lensvideo series, Hypebeast enlists Martin to capturePaul & Shark's RivieraSpring/Summer 2025capsule collection through his distinct visual aesthetic. Officially founded in 1976 by Paolo Dini, Paul & Shark is a family-run Italian label with a rich legacy in garment craftsmanship, production and fabric sourcing. Now spearheaded by his son, CEO Andrea Dini, who represents the third generation to carry the family business, the brand draws inspiration from the infinite allure of the ocean to find synergy between aesthetics, technical innovation, and commitment to quality. Heading to Capri, a scenic Italian island off the Gulf of Naples, where the new capsule collection takes its inspiration from, it's immediately clear that Martin is truly in his creative element. 'Water has this ability to mirror emotion. It's soft, wild, still, restless, all at once,' he says as he approaches the beach looking out into the horizon. 'And that's how I want my work to feel, too.' As he returns to land, weaving through the narrow streets of the old town, capturing candid images of the public, he explains, 'Photography still feels pure to me when it's about connection. When you're not trying to create a moment, but to witness it.' And despite photography partly being about engaging with your subject and directing their movements that fit in line with the vision, the craft is mainly about possessing the eye to achieve the most visually engaging shot, which can come at any time. 'I don't really direct, I observe, I wait, and I try to create a space where something real can happen,' Martin says. 'I feel into the light, the emotion in the room, the energy of the person in front of me. It's instinctual.' Inspired by the island's atmosphere, bustling energy, and iconic architecture, the Paul & Shark SS25 capsule collection embraces the spirit of the Mediterranean summer. As well as iconic patterns, silhouettes, and garment types reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, the refined capsule comprises sweaters, a selection of button-up shirts, and quick-dry swimwear that embrace a minimalist aesthetic which pays tribute to Capri. Boasting a complete segment that spans various shades of 'Azure' to more intense blues, the range's diverse color palette draws upon the sea's vast hues. Elsewhere, summery tones of beiges and whites, fused with touches of colour, complete the capsule's makeover. While the ocean influence is evident across its offering, it is experimentation that forms the foundation of the new range, marking the brand's renewed focus on quality. This includes masterfully weaving its Typhoon membrane – an innovative technology that incorporates both wind and waterproof qualities – on a selection of delicate fabrics such as silk, linen, and cashmere, as well as bringing forth its meticulous attention to detail to each garment.
