Mo Amer returns to Dubai for a double dose of comedy
We have some news that is going to put a smile on your face. Palestinian-American comedian and Netflix favourite Mo Amer will return to the Dubai Comedy Festival for a one-night-only doubleheader at Dubai Opera on Thursday, 9 October 2025.
It's a homecoming of sorts for the sharp-tongued stand-up, who made his Dubai debut at the very same festival in 2020. This time, he's bringing fresh material, deeper stories, and that signature swagger to two back-to-back shows in one of the city's most intimate venues.
Mo Amer is no stranger to the spotlight. Since his last Dubai appearance, he's racked up starring credits in Black Adam alongside The Rock, Ramy on Hulu, and most notably, his semi-autobiographical Netflix series MO, a breakout hit that earned him a Gotham Award, a Peabody, and a place on The New York Times' Best Shows of 2022 list. The show's final season landed earlier this year to even more critical acclaim, offering fans a timely reminder of Amer's fusion of biting social commentary with razor-sharp humour.
His latest stand-up material digs deep into themes of fatherhood, fame, and identity, with the same candid, culturally charged storytelling that has made him a household name. Expect brutally honest observations, unexpected tenderness, and explosive punchlines delivered with charisma and bite.
Presented by Live Nation Middle East, Mo Amer joins a stellar lineup of international talent that includes Tom Segura, Zakir Khan, Joanne McNally, Omid Djalili, Morgan Jay, Akaash Singh, and John Achkar. Now in its fifth edition, the Dubai Comedy Festival has firmly established itself as a global stage for laughs, with performances across English, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, and French, making it one of the most inclusive comedy festivals in the region.
Tickets to see Mo Amer live in Dubai are priced between AED 295 and AED 595.

Best Wednesday night deals and events in Abu Dhabi
Fun isn't on standby until the weekend. Not in Abu Dhabi and definitely not tonight. While most people are waiting for Friday to roll around, there's a handful of locals who've figured out the secret to beating the midweek slump: get out, move your body, and meet people who are just as tired of routine as you are. Wednesday nights in the capital have quietly become the city's best-kept secret. From sweat sessions with strobe lights to dancing in heels and games that feel more like a social club than a sport, these are the things that make the workweek worth it. Whether you're looking to break a sweat, meet new people, or just not eat dinner in front of the TV again, here are three ways to turn your midweek into a full-on vibe. Hit the courts, then hit the dance floor: Padel & Coffee Party This is not your average 'hit a few balls and go home' kind of night. This is where padel meets party and the courts light up with more than just forehands and backhands. You'll play friendly matches with no pressure, no points, just vibes and court-side cocktails with a live DJ spinning tracks that'll get your paddle moving faster than your Spotify playlist ever could. There are dance breaks, surprise cheers, flashing lights, and yes, even friendships formed between serves. It's part game night, part social club, and part dance party. Basically, it's what your Wednesday night's been missing. SKIMS is opening a physical store in Dubai
This is exciting, first a Primark, then an Ulta Beauty and now there's a new development in international stores arriving to Dubai. SKIMS is opening a physical store in Dubai, specifically in the Mall of the Emirates. The American clothing and swimwear brand is making its first physical store debut in the country. Until now, the brand was primarily available through shopping website Ounass, under the Al Tayer Group. Al Tayer Group are the powerhouse behind huge brands in the UAE such as Harvey Nichols, Prada, Bloomingdales and more. SKIMS is famously co-owned by Kim Kardashian and promotes a body positive outlook. The brand was originally founded in 2019 and many products have gone viral on social media since. You can now try them before you buy them in store in the Mall of the Emirates. From iconic sculpting bodysuits to comfy loungewear, we're expecting the store to have a full range of products. While there's been no formal announcement, our What's On sources have spotted boards up in the mall with the unmistakeable SKIMS logo and even though we're not sure exactly when it will open, we're thinking it's soon. Now Al Tayer is helping to bring the brick-and-mortar version of SKIMS to the UAE. Images: Instagram > Sign up for FREE to get exclusive updates that you are interested in
