Wynne Evans confirms he's been AXED by the BBC after probe as he shares emotional statement
HEARTBROKEN Strictly star Wynne Evans has been dropped by the BBC, he has revealed.
The opera singer has confirmed the corporation will not be renewing his one year rolling contract following a four-month investigation.

However, The Sun can reveal Wynne has secretly patented the name of his BBC Wales radio programme and is launching his own eponymous breakfast show next month in a move sure to infuriate Beeb execs.
In an Instagram statement the Welshman, 53, wrote: "My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart — thank you.
"These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know.
'It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won't be returning to my radio show. I'm gutted.
"That show wasn't just work — it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family.
"But here's what I believe with everything I've got: what we built cannot end here. So — deep breath — here goes... We're getting the band back together.
"The Wynne Evans Show is coming back, live every day from 9am–12pm on a new app, on Alexa and Google (we don't have to say 'smart speaker' anymore!) and at www.wynneevansshow.co.uk.
'This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever. We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again."
News of Wynne's axing comes four months after he was dropped from the Strictly tour for using the word 'spitroast ' at the official media photocall.
Fresh twist in Strictly row as furious Wynne Evans sues producers after he broke foot & was told to keeping dancing
Whilst the star insisted he used it in reference to fellow contestant Jamie Borthwick - in reference to his ability to contort his legs over his head like a chicken - the BBC insist he brought the organisation into disrepute.
It is understood Wynne, who has fronted the Go Compare ads since 2009, was informed of the corporation's decision by email on Thursday.
It comes just days after he gave an emotional interview to the Sun on Sunday detailing the extent of his mental health battles following the scandal.
Asked if he had been made a scapegoat following previous BBC controversies, he said: 'I wouldn't use that word and it's very difficult for the BBC because, historically, and by their own admission they've got it very, very wrong.
"So now they have to investigate everything, and they have to be seen to investigate everything. Personally I don't think I was due an investigation but I understand why they've had to go through this process.
'I loved the dancing part, and I did do really well but the rest of it wasn't right for me with my personality and with depression. It wasn't the right thing.
'But I can see other people who have thrived on it, but for me it's not something I would do again. I wish I hadn't done it.'
Last night a source close to Wynne said: "He is obviously gutted but deep down, he knew this verdict was probably coming.
'Wynne has been overwhelmed with support from friends, family and celebrities and has already had a couple of exciting TV objects mooted.
'He is now super-excited to get going on his radio show - he has an exciting couple of big name guests already lined up, and cannot wait to see what lies ahead."

Celebrity Race Across the World 'signs up' beloved Strictly duo
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestants Molly Rainford and Tyler West have reportedly 'signed up' for Celebrity Race Across the World. Singer and actress Molly, 24, and radio presenter Tyler, 29, both appeared on the BBC dance competition in 2022 – and announced news of their relationship a year later. Following her stint on the show, Britain's Got Talent finalist and famous footballer's daughter Molly went on to secure the role of Anna Knight in EastEnders. Former CBBC presenter Tyler, meanwhile, currently presents a slot on weekday afternoons for Kiss FM. The couple confirmed their relationship in March 2023, and moved in together a year later. According to sources, Molly and Tyler are about to return to reality TV -racing against five other celebrity duos in an upcoming series of the hit BBC travel competition. The Sun reported news of Molly and Tyler's casting this weekend, with a source saying: 'Molly and Tyler are a huge coup for the show.' 'They're popular with millions of viewers from their stints on Strictly, and Molly will bring in loads of EastEnders fans too. 'They are a very adventurous pair and have brilliant chemistry, so bosses are confident they will become huge fan favourites.' The tabloid also reports that the series has already finished filming, meaning that we shouldn't have to wait too long for the next celebrity edition of the show. As per the regular version of the competition – still airing now on BBC One and iPlayer – Celebrity Race Across the World sees five duos travel across a series of pre-determined checkpoints with limited funds and a ban on airline travel. Previous celebrity contestants have included Jeff Brazier and son Freddy, Harry Judd and mum Emma, and Kelly Brook and husband Jeremy Parisi. The most recent celebrity series aired last August, sending its famous racers on a long and often exhausting journey across South Africa. Former child star Molly is no stranger to the world of reality TV, having first auditioned for Britain's Got Talent in 2012. Aged only 11, she made it through to the semi-finals, where she finished in sixth place – losing out to winner Ashleigh Butler and her performing dog. After attending theatre school, she became a presenter on the CBBC entertainment series Friday Download from 2014 to 2016. She then starred as Nova Jones in the comedy-drama series of the same name, before appearing as a contestant on the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing. She was partnered with professional dancer Carlos Gu, while DJ Tyler danced with Dianne Buswell. While Tyler was 7th to leave the competition, Molly once again made it all the way through to the finals, only to lose out to CBeebies presenter and cameraman Hamza Yassin. They may have missed out on the Glitterball trophy, but Molly and Tyler walked away with a new relationship – despite reports she'd been 'banned' from dating while on the show. Last year, the couple celebrated their first anniversary with some loved-up posts on Instagram, each sharing a series of pictures from their relationship. 'Happy anniversary baby, 1 year, but it feels like forever! I love you,' Molly wrote, with a white love heart emoji, adding: 'you know that'. 'Everything I could ever wish for. Happy 1 year anniversary mols,' said Tyler. In the comments below their posts, Molly's EastEnders colleagues were quick to congratulate the pair on their anniversary. More Trending 'Ah! You two!' wrote her on-screen mum, Michelle Collins. Sonia Fowler actress Natalie Cassidy described the couple as 'so gorgeous', while Elaine Peacock actress Harriet Thorpe left a series of emojis. View More » Meanwhile, fellow Strictly competitor Fleur East reminisced on their time together, saying: 'Wow! It's been a whole year???!!! Love you both! Happy Anniversary'. Got a story? Chelsea to give Liam Delap major dilemma with £30million striker at risk of being in middle of club vs country row
LIAM DELAP'S first major test at Chelsea won't be on the pitch – it'll be navigating a club versus country row. Chelsea are closing in on the £30million striker having already agreed personal terms. 3 3 3 And they want him available for the Fifa Club World Cup this summer. But that tournament clashes with England's plans to include him in their squad for the Uefa Under-21 European Championship, which kicks off on June 12. Delap scored 12 goals and provided two assists for relegated Ipswich last season and his performances look to have secured a move to the capital. But he's about to get mixed up in some of the unwanted politics of the Beautiful Game. Delap reportedly had offers from Manchester United, Everton, and Chelsea. But journalist Ben Jacobs is reporting that that Thomas Tuchel convinced him a Champions League platform would boost his chances of making England's 2026 World Cup squad. Chelsea, fresh off winning the Europa Conference League, have wasted no time splashing the cash on Delap. United were believed to be front-runners to land the England Under-21 star. But a disastrous end to their season – in contrast to Chelsea's strong finish – is understood to have tipped the balance. Delap was also coached by Enzo Maresca during his time at Manchester City's academy, while Joe Shields – now at Chelsea – played a key role in bringing him from Derby to City back in 2019. SunSport understands all these factors played a key role in convincing one of England's brightest young talents to join Chelsea. But, as with every top club, Delap will need to get used to being at the heart of club vs country tug-of-wars whenever international and domestic duties overlap. Chelsea have had Nicolas Jackson leading the line over the last two seasons but he has failed to fully convince fans he is the man to take them forward.
