IMN head announces the success of the Arab Media Conference

Karim Hammadi, head of the Iraqi Media Network (IMN), announced the success of the Fourth Arab Media Conference on Friday.
In his speech announcing the conference's closing statement, attended by a correspondent for the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Karim Hammadi, head of the Iraqi Media Network, said, "Thank you for organizing this successful conference, and thanks and appreciation to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for his unlimited support for this conference and all initiatives that bring Arabs together in Iraq and Baghdad, as well as for their unlimited support for the Iraqi Media Network."
He added: "Thanks and appreciation to the Arab League and the Arab States Broadcasting Union for their participation and support in holding this conference. We also thank all members of the Iraqi Media Network, including its Board of Trustees and all its affiliates, for the success of this conference, we also thank the distinguished attendees who took the trouble to come to Iraq and participate with us in the sessions of this conference with unparalleled success and activity, Thank you again."

Baghdad Airport Development progresses with Public-Private Partnership

The Prime Minister emphasised that the project must reflect Baghdad's status and meet rising passenger demand, in line with international standards. He called for guarantees to protect current employees and enhance their skills, while ensuring commercial management to improve state revenues. Plans include a new terminal with an annual capacity of 8.5 million passengers-expected to rise to 15 million by 2040-along with runway upgrades, VIP terminal unification, and investment in commercial activities around the airport. The IFC, which has supported similar airport projects in 11 airports across nine countries, is advising the government on feasibility, technical scope, and private sector engagement. While security and core sovereign functions will remain under government control, private investors will manage passenger services, ground handling, and air cargo within the terminals. Iraq reaffirms commitment to supporting Lebanon
Baghdad ( – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, reaffirmed on Sunday Iraq's continued support for the Lebanese people as well as Lebanon's internal political consensus. In a joint press conference held with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's commitment to achieving Arab integration, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). Aoun's visit to Iraq represents an important opportunity to enhance relations at security, economic, and social levels and to confront regional challenges, according to Al-Sudani. The Iraqi prime minister highlighted that Iraq's chair of the Arab Summit will seek to promote Lebanon's unity, state institutions, and territorial sovereignty. The two leaders discussed potential collaborative prospects in energy, communications, and commerce, as well as integration that would benefit the people of both countries. Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq's condemnation of Israel's continuous attacks on Lebanese sovereignty, which are deemed a violation of international law. Additionally, Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq's support for Syria's sovereignty and independence, denouncing Israeli strikes on Syrian territory and policies that exacerbate sectarian unrest. The Iraqi prime minister stated that Iraq seeks to put an end to Israel's cruel aggression, genocide, and starvation policies in Gaza, which target innocent civilians. Al-Sudani announced in mid-May that Iraq will donate $40 million to support the reconstruction of Lebanon and Gaza, both of which have suffered significant damage in recent conflicts with Israel.

Baghdad-INA Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed on Sunday the necessity of cooperation between Iraq and the United States in accordance with the Strategic Framework Agreement. The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy, Steven Fagin, on the occasion of his assumption of his duties in Iraq. The Prime Minister extended his congratulations to Mr. Fagin, wishing him success in his mission and in efforts to advance relations in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries. Prime Minister Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of cooperation between Iraq and the United States, based on the Strategic Framework Agreement, memoranda of understanding, and ongoing coordination and consultation. He particularly highlighted key areas of collaboration, including the economy, investment, security, energy, education, and private sector activities. Mr. Fagin underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship and the United States' support for its partnership with Iraq across various sectors.
