Controversial ‘Family Feud' Episode Lands Host Steve Harvey and Game Show's Team in Hot Water

Fans of Family Feud are furious about a recent episode that featured an all-trans team who was raising money for sex workers, spurring plans to radically shake up the game show franchise, sources tell the National Enquirer. Insiders say the game show has been pushing the envelope for years, but this latest uproar has landed longtime host Steve Harvey in the hot seat. On the July 31 episode of Celebrity Family Feud, which airs on Disney-owned ABC, actress Laverne Cox led the all-transgender team featuring singer Mila Jam, actress Joslyn De Freece, actress and singer Peppermint and TV personality Ts Madison. They were playing to raise money for the latter's charity, the Ts Madison Starter House, per Daily Mail. 'The show has been under fire for years for pushing boundaries, but this is one of the most controversial scenarios they've had in a long time,' says an insider. Viewers' eyebrows shot up when jokes about 'free balling' and other crude innuendos peppered the dialogue, which kicked off when Steve asked Ts if he could call her Ts. 'Of course. Listen, I take it short or long,' Madison cooed suggestively. Harvey, 68, looked straight at the camera, feigning a look of shock. 'Steve Harvey, it's okay to free ball, we're free balling today,' Ts purred, alluding to men who don't wear underwear. Fans were quick to vent their anger on social media. 'Whatever individuals that 'green lighted' this show need to be fired. Another notch in Disney's decline,' one fumed. 'Well that's one show I won't be watching,' another chimed in. Show insiders agreed, griping, 'Being tacky and obnoxious to get ratings — it's blown the roof open.' 'Even Steve is getting caught in the crossfire and he's used to being the jovial guy who everyone likes, but not anymore. People are accusing him of pandering to the contestants, no matter how over the top and inappropriate they get,' says the insider. So now bosses are discussing the show's future, 'but there's a difference of opinion on how far the jokes should go and whether they should take a totally different route,' says the source. 'There's an inquest going on with people asking how it happened in the first place and what they're going to do going forward to avoid these catastrophes.' Adds the insider, 'The powers that be don't want to lose Steve, but they've got to clean up and do better!' Solve the daily Crossword

The 13 Best Opening Night Live Trailers at Gamescom 2025

Europe's big gaming event of the year, Gamescom 2025, has kicked off with Opening Night Live, an extensive trailer showcase giving early looks at the biggest games coming later this year and into 2026. Last year's Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live had a ton of reveals, including Mafia: The Old Country and trailers for then-upcoming games like Marvel Rivals, Dune Awakening and more. This year's showcase had some big reveals and some tantalizingly short teases -- like around 20 seconds of Silksong, the long-awaited sequel/spinoff to indie darling Hollow Night. Below are the biggest trailers for the two-hour Opening Night Live event. Fallout: Season 2 Amazon's Fallout show was a delightful surprise, faithfully adapting a beloved gaming franchise -- and just being pretty darn good. Gamescom 2025 features the debut trailer of the second season, which arrives Dec. 17, as well as an on-stage chat with the showrunners and stars Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 We got our first long look at the story, which mixes cerebral mindscapes with your typical fast-paced Call of Duty combat. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice anime Yes, FromSoftware's cult favorite samurai game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting an anime adaptation called Sekiro: No Defeat. The trailer shows the game's protagonist, swordsman Wolf, both before and after he receives his prosthetic arm -- suggesting we could see things both before and during the course of the original game. The anime will debut on Crunchyroll at an unstated date. Resident Evil: Requiem We got a brief look at Resident Evil: Requiem (aka Resident Evil 9) at Summer Game Fest, but this trailer shows a peek at player character Grace Ashcroft and her mother -- before things get bad. Details are scarce about the story, though Capcom has insisted that the game will lean way more into horror and terror than other recent entries in the series, like the run-and-gun Resident Evil 8. Black Myth Wukong sequel revealed Chinese developer Game Science wowed the games world with Black Myth Wukong, and Gamescom 2025 featured the reveal trailer of the next game in its series, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, which will be another action-adventure game based on Chinese myth -- in this case, the ghost-catching god Zhong Kui. Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14 Well this is fun: a crossover between two of the biggest games in the world, Monster Hunter Wilds, which was released earlier this year, and perennial MMORPG Final Fantasy 14. Both games will get content from each other -- here's the trailer for the Monster Hunter Wilds portion coming late October and here's one for the Final Fantasy 14 portion coming late September. Silent Hill F The next big Silent Hill game got another trailer and plenty of teases for the lore of the title, which is set in the 1960s in Japan. Onimusha: Way of the Sword It's been nearly 20 years since the last new Onimusha game came out, and now we've got another look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword -- which looks to preserve the originals' sword-and-parry combat with other magical weapons. Demons, bosses and brutal executions abound in the Onimusha trailer. Cronos: The New Dawn Bloober Team's follow-up to last year's Silent Hill 2 remake, we got another look at Cronos: The New Dawn. This peek showed some of the gameplay for its third-person shooter combat as well as a ton of the hideous monsters you'll encounter in the game, which launches soon, on Sept. 5. Outer Worlds 2 Obsidian's sequel to the space action RPG Outer Worlds got a trailer showcasing the companions you'll meet and fight alongside in the game. "And no, you can't sleep with them," the trailer voiceover cheekily pointed out. Boooo. Ninja Gaiden 4 The next trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4 includes looks at boss fights, including giant robots and futuristic samurai with stylized armor. While demons and ninja fights are still in the game, the futuristic setting looks more prominent than we'd previously seen. Ghost of Yotei Another trailer from the upcoming sequel to Ghost of Tsushima has dropped, showing more gameplay, from traversal across beautiful lands to swordfights in the snow. The beautiful tale of revenge is coming Oct. 2 -- and the DLC, Ghost of Yotei Legends, is coming in 2026. World of Warcraft: Midnight The next big expansion to the long-running MMORPG World of Warcraft, titled Midnight, is coming soon -- and Blizzard Entertainment has, in its grand tradition, unveiled a riveting story trailer to set the stage for the next chapter in Azeroth's story.
