ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — One annual cross-country tradition will make its historic stop at the Patee House Museum this weekend.

Riders relay a mochila carrying commemorative letters across eight states, traveling more than 1,900 miles on horseback, just like they did in 1860.
The Pony Express is one of the most iconic stories of American grit and determination," said Gary Chilcote, the museum director a the Patee House Museum. "We're proud to honor that spirit and invite the community to witness this living history event firsthand.
The St. Joseph community is invited to witness the arrival of the rider, explore the museum's rich history exhibits and learn more about the tradition.
The Patee House Museum is open until 4 p.m. and is located at 1202 Penn St. The rider is expected to arrive at the museum by 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21.

Taylor Swift Revealed Where She Stands With Travis Kelce Amid Marriage Rumors

THE RUNDOWN Taylor Swift subtly shut down secret marriage rumors when she called Travis Kelce her 'boyfriend' during her visit to a children's hospital. Sources have spoken for months about Swift and Kelce's plans to eventually get engaged. The couple was last seen together on Saturday. Last week, Chicago Bears player Cole Kmet's wedding planner, Ellie Nottoli, sparked rumors that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might have secretly tied the knot when she shared a 'Taylor and Travis Kelce' place card for the couple at his nuptials. Swift shut down that chatter firsthand during her visit to a children's hospital in Hollywood, Florida, on Saturday. She spoke to a patient about why she was there, saying, 'My boyfriend is training here, so I just thought I'd come and see how you're doing.' Calling Kelce her boyfriend doubled as a dismissal of any engagement rumors, too. Swift has been with Kelce in Florida, where the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been preparing for his upcoming preseason later this summer. Kelce and Swift will celebrate their two-year anniversary in a matter of weeks. The couple is in it for the long haul, a source told Us Weekly back in December, but they're not rushing into anything. 'Taylor does feel like Travis is The One, but jumping in is not her style,' the source explained. 'That's just not how she does [things]. Marriage is a big deal, and she wants [it to be] forever.' In February, an insider told the outlet that Swift and Kelce were both 'on the same page about taking the next step [and getting engaged]' but were enjoying this period of their love story in private. Two months later, a source told Us Weekly that their engagement plans had not changed but didn't share when Kelce would propose. Swift and Kelce have been keeping things private on purpose. On June 4, a source explained to Us Weekly that 'they are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention, but there isn't trouble in paradise.' Kelce began this week in France, where he and brother Jason Kelce did a panel at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Swift was not seen there with him. She didn't attend the festival last year when he went either, in part due to security concerns. The couple had their last public date night on June 12, to attend the fourth game of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final in Sunrise, Florida. It was easy before kids… You'd throw some stuff in a bag, take off, and figure it out along the way. With kids, all it takes is one missing item, and the drama unfolds, even if it's something why having a summer road trip checklist is a pretty good thing to create. Experts say, whether it's surviving hours or days on the road, pre-planned breaks and things to 'have and do' in between those breaks will save a summer road trip. 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is bringing a business boom to Philadelphia

Philadelphia is on the world stage as the FIFA Club World Cup is underway, and business is booming in the City of Brotherly Love. Jake Joyce, Senior VP of Marketing at Live! Casino in South Philly, said FIFA is bringing the area to life. "What's really, really cool is the diversity of the crowd, a very different set of customers than you are normally seeing during baseball season right now," Joyce said. Even though anticipation is gearing up for next year's World Cup, he said the Club World Cup is still helping the city thrive with tourism. "This is not just a trial run. This is economic activity in the stadium district. So, we are really excited," he said. From the casinos and hotels all the way down to the smaller bars and restaurants, this extra business is helpful, especially on a weekday. "I mean it's amazing to see your Chinese restaurant on Monday night at 9 p.m. full before a Moroccan game next door," Joyce said. "You are getting the pregame celebrations. You are getting the post-game celebrations." Over in Fairmount at The Bishop's Collar, they're also loving the crowds and said they have been busy. "It's a big neighborhood bar. I feel like a lot of people are staying in the area at Airbnb's," said Collin Woolcock, who is a bartender at The Bishop's Collar. They said this boost reminds them of local events and they are happy to host. "Whenever there is an event on the Parkway, the Art Museum is right there, it brings a lot of people in. It kind of feels like that," he said. The fun is just beginning with more games on the horizon.
