Michigan State star Coen Carr not included in early 2026 NBA mock drafts
Michigan State basketball fans who are hoping to see Coen Carr spend a few more years in East Lansing may have gotten some good news on that front on Friday. With the 2025 NBA draft now concluded, with another MSU star, Jase Richardson, going No. 25 to the Orlando Magic, NBA draft analysts now turn their attention to the 2026 NBA draft and early mock drafts are starting to roll in.
While many, including myself, think that Coen Carr will have a chance to be a first-round draft pick next year, thanks to his insane athleticism and rapidly improving defense, that does not appear to be the consensus right now. In fact, in the first mock drafts I have seen for 2026, including ESPN and Bleacher Report, Coen Carr wasn't mentioned at all, which was a little surprising to me.

A lot can change during the year, especially if Carr emerges as MSU's go-to scorer this year, but at least right now, it doesn't seem like he's on draft experts' radars going into the season.
