'Predatory and remorseless' Norfolk NHS worker jailed for 12 years for raping and assaulting women
A 'predatory and remorseless' NHS worker who posed as a paramedic on an online dating website has been jailed for 12 years for raping and sexually assaulting women.
Jamie Kadolski's three victims fought back tears as they told Norwich Crown Court how his attacks had left them suicidal, humiliated, ashamed, and terrified of ambulance workers.
One of his victims said: 'I didn't think I would be alive to speak today. I attempted suicide twice. By ending my life I would be free of so much pain.'
Another told the court she overdosed three days after being sexually assaulted by Kadolski and had tattoos to cover up scars from her self-harm.
Kadolski, 24, of Ladysmith Road, Norwich, was found guilty of nine sexual offences over an 18-month-period, including rape, sexual assault and assault by penetration during a trial last November.
The trial heard that Kadolski, a former call handler at the East of England Ambulance Service, had used stickers on his work ID badge to conceal his more junior role.
He met victims through the dating website Tinder, telling them he was a paramedic before going on to rape and sexually assault them.
One told the court she now refused to use any dating apps.
'The joy of being in a relationship has been ripped away from me,' she said.
The court heard that Kadolski would wear police and paramedic uniforms as part of an 'internal fantasy world that he wished he was living in'.
A psychological report said this was an attempt to try and relieve 'low mood and low self-worth' as well as to 'attract a partner' and 'boost his fragile ego'.
After the sentencing, an East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said they were "appalled at the crimes".
'Kadolski was immediately suspended when we were alerted of his arrest," they said.
'Our thoughts are with the victims and all those affected by these horrific crimes. We recognise the courage it takes to come forward and speak out.'
Kadolski will serve 12 years in jail and three years on extended licence. He was also made the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Man from Newton Mearns raped woman and fractured her skull
Christopher McDonald repeatedly tormented his victim leaving her traumatised by her ordeal. The attacks included the 45 year-old raping her and also fracturing her skull when he discovered she was in a new relationship. The woman was known to McDonald. The crimes mainly occurred in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire. The first offender had denied the accusations during a trial at the High Court in Glasgow. But, jurors found him guilty of a total of three charges. READ MORE: Thug knocked out three of teen's teeth with one punch He was convicted of engaging in a course of abusive behaviour which included violently having sex with the woman "without her consent" in August 2022 and punching her on the face the same day. The other charges were two counts of acting in a threatening manner. Describing the most serious incidents, Judge Douglas Brown today told McDonald: "In the early hours, you awoke her from her sleep and got into bed beside her. "She got out and tried to get out the room, but you grabbed her. "You pinned her down on the bed and raped her." The hearing was told McDonald, of Newton Mearns, also East Renfrewshire, flew into a rage again later that day when he found out the woman was seeing someone else. READ MORE: Serial sex attacker raped woman he met on Tinder Judge Brown: "You punched her in the face with such force it caused severe injury in form of fractured skull and facial bones." He added the victim had been abused in her own home "where she was entitled to feel safe". The judge told McDonald: "Your behaviour has caused her substantial and enduring psychological harm. McDonald was put on the sex offenders list and banned from going near the woman - both for an indefinite period. Gary Allan KC, defending, said the attacker maintained his innocence. A clutch of testimonials from those who knew McDonald had earlier been given to Judge Brown. The advocate added McDonald's life was also in "tatters" whatever the jail-term would be.

Migrants cross English Channel ahead of spending review announcement
Migrants have arrived in the UK after crossing the English Channel as Chancellor Rachel Reeves is set to unveil her spending review. Pictures show new arrivals wearing life jackets being brought to shore in a Border Force boat in Dover, Kent, on Wednesday. They are the first to make the journey to the UK so far this month after a record first five months of the year bringing the provisional total so far to 14,812 arrivals. This has also surpassed the highest total recorded for the first six months of the year, which was previously 13,489 on June 30 last year. In 2024, the number of arrivals did not reach more than 14,000 until July 9 (14,058). The arrivals come as the Chancellor will set out spending plans for the coming years, with big rises expected for the NHS, defence and schools. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper was the last minister to reach a deal with the Treasury, with reports suggesting greater police spending would mean a squeeze on other areas of her department's budget. But the Home Office will also receive a £680 million cash boost for border security, according to the Sun newspaper. The paper reported Ms Cooper has gained £100 million to spend on tackling illegal migration this year and a further £580 million over the next three years for border police and surveillance, including more drones. The Government has vowed to crack down on people-smuggling and Channel crossings since coming to power in July last year. This includes by funding elite officers to increase patrols along the northern French coastline and launching a specialist intelligence unit in Dunkirk to track down people smugglers. It has also established a Border Security Command to lead strategy and its Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill, currently going through Parliament, seeks to introduce new criminal offences and hand counter terror-style powers to law enforcement agencies to target smuggling gangs.
