Poonam Soni started the concept of bespoke jewels in 1989. Thirty-six years later, she is a pioneer in the field. Now, Soni and her daughter, Kriti, bring to you the many styles of craftsmanship in jewelry from different states of India under one roof—reviving the rich heritage of the Indian legacy for the jewelry consumer.
'The Treasures of India' is being launched on 13th and 14th of August for jewelry lovers of Indian heritage. The pieces have been produced in eight different cities. The collection will showcase gold in its tribal glory, diamonds in different cuts of flats, precision rose cuts, and full shimmers studded in different styles unique to their cities. Large carved emeralds, along with cabochons and cuts have been mounted in traditional settings of 'nakshis' and enamels. The focus is on India's rich legacy of artisanship.
'We have gone into the interiors to unravel and create jewelled treasures for you,' says Poonam Soni. The luxury designer now focuses on crafts and plans to take this collection to New York next year.
Always ahead of her time, Soni was one of the early designers of luxury jewelry in India in 1989. Now she creates a melange of Indian crafts under her new venture: Jewels Eleven.

Magic Moments maker ties up with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to launch premium tequila

By Chandini Monnappa and Hritam Mukherjee (Reuters) -Radico Khaitan, the maker of "Magic Moments" vodka, will invest up to $4.56 million and team up with Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath to launch a premium tequila brand, marking its foray into the category. The Indian liquor maker, known for premium offerings such as Rampur Indian Single Malt and Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin, will roll out the brand D'YAVOL Añejo — a premium spirit made from agave and aged about two years in wine casks. D'YAVOL, a luxury brand founded in 2022 by Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, along with Leti Blagoeva and Bunty Singh, is headquartered in Amsterdam and offers vodka, blended malt Scotch whisky and premium streetwear. D'YAVOL Añejo is set to launch by December and depending on state excise duty, will be priced between 20,000 rupees ($228.21) and 30,000 rupees, Radico Khaitan Managing Director Abhishek Khaitan told Reuters on Tuesday. The launch comes as affluent Indians increasingly splurge on everything from luxury dining to premium alcohol, housing and cars. Alcohol sales in the country, according to data from analytics firm Crisil, are projected to grow as much as 10% to $61.35 billion in fiscal 2026. Tequila is one of the fastest growing segments globally and India is catching on very fast. The market size in the country is about 300,000 cases, out of which 15% is the Añejo (Spanish word meaning 'aged') category, Khaitan said. "We believe that in the next five years, tequila can reach a volume of about a million cases in India plus global market, so I think it was a great opportunity," he said. Under the partnership, Radico Khaitan and Shah Rukh Khan's family will each hold a 47.5% stake in the venture, while Kamath will own 5%. The deal also underscores the fierce competition in mass and premium liquor segments. Just three weeks ago, peer Tilaknagar Industries bought the "Imperial Blue" whisky brand from Pernod Ricard for $486 million. Indian rupee ends flat as market awaits key inflation data in US and India

By Ashwin Manikandan MUMBAI (Reuters) - The Indian rupee was largely unchanged on Tuesday with traders in "wait and watch" mode awaiting the release of key inflation data in the U.S. and India later in the day, which could provide clues on the interest rate trajectories in the two economies. The local currency unit closed marginally 0.06% higher at 87.7125 against Monday's close of 87.6600. India's consumer price index (CPI) data for July is expected to show inflation at its slowest pace in at least eight years. The U.S. July data, due after the release of India's report, is expected to show that core inflation rose at the pace of 0.3%. The recent weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs report has bolstered bets that the Federal Reserve will cut rates next month, with investors pricing in a 90% chance of a rate cut in September. However, U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs have added uncertainty to the inflation outlook, complicating the Fed's policy path, which makes the inflation data on Tuesday crucial for clues about the interest rate trajectory in the world's largest economy. "Traders are avoiding any unwarranted bets ahead of the inflation data releases," said Dilip Parmar, forex analyst at HDFC Securities. Trump's scheduled meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday has also prompted the market to be cautious, with traders avoiding any reckless bets owing to the global geopolitical uncertainties, Parmar added. Most Asian currencies, too, stayed flat against a steady dollar. The U.S. dollar index was marginally higher at 98.54 at 1035 GMT. India's RBI allows 'vostro' accounts to invest entire surplus in government securities

BENGALURU (Reuters) -India's central bank said on Tuesday foreign investors may invest the surplus balance in their so-called "vostro" accounts into central government securities. Vostro accounts are typically held by a domestic bank on behalf of a foreign bank in which trading partners can hold rupee-denominated balances emerging from trade transactions. "Persons resident outside India that maintain a special rupee vostro account (SRVA) for international trade settlement in Indian rupees ... may invest their rupee surplus balance in the aforesaid account in central government securities," a Reserve Bank of India notification said. In 2022, the RBI had allowed overseas banks to open SRVAs to settle trade transactions in rupee as part of its efforts to boost the currency's "internationalisation". The holders of such accounts can invest in Indian government debt without registering as foreign portfolio investors, as overseas investors have to. However, the government slapped a limit of using only 30% of account balances to buy securities with residual maturity under one year, including treasury bills. Reuters reported in May that the central bank had sought the government's approval to remove this cap on foreign banks with vostro accounts to boost rupee-denominated investment and trade. The RBI has approved 123 correspondent banks from 30 trading partner countries to open 156 SRVAs with 26 Indian banks to promote bilateral trade in local currencies, a junior trade minister told Parliament earlier this year.
