Martín Ojeda extends goal contribution streak to 12 in Orlando City's 3-1 victory over Sporting KC
Ojeda earned his 14th assist of the season when Enrique scored for the seventh time, giving Orlando City (13-6-8) a 2-1 lead in the 76th minute. Ojeda tied Sebastian Giovinco's 12-match run for Toronto FC in 2018 for the second longest in league history. Josef Martínez set the record with a 15-match streak while playing for Atlanta United in 2019.
Newcomer Tyrese Spicer needed just two minutes to score and give Orlando City the lead after weather delayed the start for 3 hours, 13 minutes. Spicer found the net for the first time in his first start and second appearance with the club after scoring twice in seven starts and 21 appearances for Toronto FC this season.
Dejan Joveljic pulled Sporting KC (6-14-6) even in the 25th minute with an assist from Mason Toye — the first of his career. It was the team-high 14th netter for Joveljic in his first season with the club and one off his career high set last season for the defending champion Los Angeles Galaxy. Toye, also in his first season with the team, had not had an assist in 123 league appearances since 2018.
Orlando City regained the lead in the 76th minute when Enrique used assists from Ojeda and Iván Angulo to score after subbing in for Luis Muriel in the 71st. It was the seventh assist for Angulo, who subbed in for Marco Pašalić, also in the 71st.
Rookie Nicolás Rodríguez replaced Spicer in the 77th and then gave Orlando City a two-goal lead unassisted in the 83rd with his first netter in his eighth appearance.
Pedro Gallese turned away three shots for Orlando City.
John Pulskamp had four saves for Sporting KC.
Orlando City coach Oscar Pareja earned his 100th victory.
Orlando City travels to play Nashville SC on Saturday. Sporting KC travels to play the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

Phillies' Aaron Nola allows six runs in 2 1/3 innings in his return from the injured list
WASHINGTON (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola's first start after returning from the injured list didn't last long. The right-hander allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings Sunday against the Washington Nationals, a start that ended when seven consecutive batters reached safely. Nola struck out four in his first major league outing since May 14. The former All-Star was one of the majors' most durable pitchers entering the season, making at least 32 starts and throwing at least 180 2/3 innings in each of the last six full seasons. But a sprained right ankle and fractured rib cost him three months this season. His return became even more significant Saturday when Philadelphia placed ace Zack Wheeler on the injured list with a blood clot in his right arm. Nola already was scheduled to start after making three minor league rehabilitation appearances, though the Phillies scrapped their plans to use a six-man rotation. Nola gave up Luis García Jr.'s leadoff single in the first inning, then appeared to settle in. He retired the next seven batters as Philadelphia built a 6-0 lead. The Nationals stitched together three consecutive singles in the third, the last by CJ Abrams to score a run. That led to a mound visit from pitching coach Caleb Cotham, but Nola then walked Paul DeJong before giving up Daylen Lile's two-run single and Dylan Crews' two-run double. José Tena followed with a tying double to end Nola's day. Nola allowed seven hits while throwing 53 pitches. His ERA rose to 6.92. In addition to Nola taking Wheeler's roster spot, the Phillies activated third baseman Alec Bohm from the injured list and optioned infielder Otto Kemp to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room on the 40-man roster for Nola, Philadelphia released outfielder Cal Stevenson. ___ AP MLB:

Alabama RB Jam Miller to miss Crimson Tide's opener with upper-body injury, says head coach Kalen DeBoer
Alabama running back Jam Miller suffered an upper-body injury during Saturday's scrimmage and underwent a procedure for the issue, head coach Kalen DeBoer announced in a statement on Sunday. 'Jam Miller suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday's scrimmage and went in for a procedure on Saturday evening," DeBoer wrote. "Jam should recover fully with a timetable for his return yet to be determined.' The injury is expected to sideline Miller for the Crimson Tide's Aug.30 season opener at Florida State, ESPN's Mark Schlabach reports. Alabama hosts Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 6 and Wisconsin on Sept. 13 before a bye week. The Tide will then open their SEC schedule on Sept. 27 at No. 5 Georgia. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Miller, 21, is the Tide's leading returning rusher as a senior, running for 668 yards and seven touchdowns on 145 carries last season. He also tallied 16 receptions for 155 yards and a score. With Miller sidelined, sophomore running backs Richard Young and Daniel Hill are expected to carry the rushing load. Young ran for 146 yards and 2 TDs on 27 carries last season, while Hill rushed for 61 yards and a TD on 21 attempts. Alabama also added transfer Dre Washington, who ran for 478 yards with 107 receiving yards for Louisiana in 2024. Freshmen AK Dear and Kevin Riley could also be in the mix. Last season's second-leading rusher among Alabama running backs, Justice Haynes with 448 yards and seven TDs, transferred to Michigan. Jalen Milroe led the Crimson Tide with 726 yards and 20 TDs, finished his eligibility and was a third-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Alabama is ranked No. 8 in the AP preseason college football Top 25, which was released last Monday. Last season, the Crimson Tide finished 9-4 in DeBoer's first season as head coach, succeeding the legendary Nick Saban.
