Diana Ross needed no introduction to designer and stylist Ugo Mozie, who created the elaborate coat and train she sported to the Met Gala.
Based between Los Angeles and Lagos, Mozie is great friends with the superstar's son Evan, whom he also suited up for the first Monday in May. Mozie, who has also worked with Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Travis Scott among others, was only 18 when he debuted his first fashion line in 2009. His creations for Ross and her son, as well as for the Met Gala's head chef Kwame Onwuachi were all custom Eleven Sixteen designs.

Knowing that Diana Ross wanted something to celebrate her family for the Met Gala, Mozie used crystals and embellishment to incorporate the names of her children and grandchildren into the coat and train's trimmings, which were shaped to look like the vines on a tree. The process required four weeks of constant work that involved seamstresses, embroiderers and tailors.
'I like to say that it was a global project because we used some embellishments that were made in Nigeria and the Swarovski crystals were sent from Austria, the coat and train were made in L.A., and the embroidery was made in New York City,' Mozie said. 'When the final creation was presented, it was such a moment of relief for me and my artistry. For someone like her, who has seen everything on the highest possible level, to appreciate and like something that I created was a very beautiful and affirming moment for me.'
Ross wore a decades-old gown, according to the designer. 'About 80 percent of her gowns are her own designs that she has collaborated with other designers on that she has done,' Mozie said.
The designer was surprised to see the Grammy winner had added a hat to her red-carpet look. It was a piece he had designed last year for her 80th birthday party. 'It just went with the theme [in honor of 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style'] so well that she wore it for this event as well,' Mozie said.
Mozie is also a style director for Hugo Boss, helping to style celebrities for the company's fashion shows — and its Met Gala celebrity guests — and he has styled ad campaigns. Asked about Ross' reputation for being particular, Mozie said, 'She is someone who has been exposed to so much in this world, that she chooses not to settle for anything less than the best that life has to offer. I can only be inspired by that.'

Bob Dylan, 83, Sends Hilarious 80th Birthday Message to Fellow Rock Legend
When iconic guitarist for The Who, Pete Townshend, turned 83 this week, there was another legendary rocker waiting to welcome him to his ninth decade on the planet: 83-year-old Bob Dylan. Dylan took to X to wish his fellow Grammy winner a happy birthday on Monday, May 19, writing, "Happy birthday Pete. Who's the new boss? Is he like the old boss? Have you met him yet? Say hello to Roger.' As fans the world over know, Dylan's message was a witty reference to the iconic Who song 'Won't Get Fooled Again" — written by Townshend — which features Roger Daltrey singing the lyrics, 'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.' Music lovers knew exactly what Dylan was talking about, with one person quoting "The Seeker," a song by The Who that name-checks the "Like a Rolling Stone" singer: "I asked Bobby Dylan, I asked the Beatles, I asked Timothy Leary, but he could not help me either." Another fan shared a pic of Townshend and Dylan posing from what appeared to be the '80s writing: "Fashion icons." Townshend and Dylan have praised each other's talents over the years, with Townshend even crediting Dylan for helping to inspire the classic Who song "My Generation." '(He) definitely created a new style of writing," Townshend said, per Far Out Magazine. "Dylan was the one who I think got the message across to The Beatles. (That) was that you can write songs about subjects other than falling in love.'

Cardi B Hard Launches Her Relationship With NFL Star Stefon Diggs
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Everything is coming up roses for Cardi B. Over the weekend, the 'Up' singer posted photos and videos of the massive bouquets of flowers that were delivered to her home, in the same slideshow where she confirmed a new romance that is also sweetening her life. In the past few months, there have been rumors that Cardi was in a relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs, following her divorce filing from Offset last July. Now, she has finally confirmed the new romance. Scroll ahead learn more about Stefon Diggs. In March 2025, Diggs signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots for $63.5 million, where he will play as a wide receiver. At the time of his signing, Diggs had already been in the NFL for 10 seasons. When he graduated from the University of Maryland in 2014, he was signed the next year to the Minnesota Vikings as a fifth-round draft pick. He inked a four-year, $2.5 million deal, which he served out, before he was traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2020. Then, he stayed with the Bills for four years, before playing one season for the Houston Texans in 2024. Diggs has now joined the Patriots having played 144 regular season games with 857 receptions for 10,491 yards and 70 touchdowns. In 2020, he lead the league in receptions. He will make his debut for New England this coming fall. Stefon Diggs is a father to one—a daughter named Nova, who he welcomed in October 2016. The identity of Nova's mother is not publicly known, though some believe it to be Diggs's ex-girlfriend, the pop singer Tyler-Marie. While Diggs mostly keeps his personal life out of the spotlight, Nova has made a few notable appearances throughout the wide receiver's career. For instance, when he was signed to the Buffalo Bills, Nova sat on his lap for the ceremony, where she jokingly quoted the iconic Jerry Maguire line 'show me the money' to the Bills general manager Brandon Beane, as seen in the clip above. Other times, the adorable little one has been seen running on the field with her dad after games and cheering from the stands, all while sporting jerseys with his name. Take one scroll through Diggs's Instagram account and you'll see all kinds of street style looks and tunnel fits, each defined by the football player's affinity for neon colors, eye-popping prints, and statement footwear. Diggs has displayed a strong fashion sense for years now, even making his Met Gala debut at the 2023 event, and returning the following two years, including this year to support the 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' theme. In a 2024 GQ interview, the wide receiver said, 'My mom told me that a girl always pays attention to your shoes and your smile... I got my own swag. I don't try to be like anybody else.' That love of fashion has translated to front-row appearances at fashion shows, and even the development of his own brand, called Liem, which sells luxury graphic tees, denim, leather, and stylish sportswear. Diggs isn't the only member of the family who's played for the NFL. In fact, the Patriots player's younger brother, Trevon, is currently a cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys. And while he isn't part of the NFL, the pair's half-sibling, Mar'Sean, played college football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His love of football started with his father, who passed away when he was only 14. As noted in an article from The Athletic, Diggs's dad wanted to see his sons play their best, so he enrolled them in the sport when they were young, and even had them doing things like living-room pushups whenever commercials would come on the TV. To this day, Diggs has a tattoo on his right wrist that says: 'RIP DAD.' Back in 2018, he shared a picture of it to his Instagram, with a caption that read: 'I miss you now more than ever... just wish you was here to see your sons. We love you. Still going hard for the last name ❤️ SCREAMING HAPPY GDAY POPS.. the [realest].' On June 1, 2025, Cardi B went public with her and Diggs's relationship, sharing a slideshow of photos which included one of her and the Patriots player getting cuddly on a boat, while a video saw Cardi dancing on Diggs. In another cheeky moment, the 'WAP' singer also shared a shot of her wrapped up in a furry shawl, which appeared to be the exact same one Diggs wore on Met Gala night. In her caption, she wrote: 'Chapter 5 ……Hello Chapter six.' Rumors of the pair's relationship first swirled in the fall of 2024, when the two were spotted at a New York City nightclub together, per a report from TMZ. Further speculation ensued when the couple went out to dinner in Miami on Valentine's Day. A couple of months later, a video circulated that saw Cardi dancing on the wide receiver. And this past May, they were seen sitting courtside together at a New York Knicks game, making their first public appearance as a pair. ‘Wicked' Star Cynthia Erivo Fires Back at MAGA Hate for Playing Jesus
Wicked star Cynthia Erivo has some thoughts about the MAGA outrage—fueled by Elon Musk—over her casting as Christ in the Hollywood Bowl's production of Jesus Christ Superstar. 'You can't please everyone,' the Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-winner told Billboard in a new interview. 'It is legitimately a three-day performance at the Hollywood Bowl where I get to sing my face off. So hopefully they will come and realize, 'Oh, it's a musical, the gayest place on Earth.'' The show will run August 1-3. Many MAGA fans slammed Erivo's Christ casting as 'blasphemy' on social media when her role was first announced in February. What seemed lost on several critics was the tone of the show itself. The 1971 Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera has always been a provocative, at-times critical take on Christ's life, that over time became a cult favorite among queer audiences. Musk seemed to have missed that bit of information as well as he chimed in on X with an eyebrow-raised emoji in reply to an X user who wrote, 'Imagine doing this to any other religion' next to Erivo's casting news. Critics with similar complaints flooded Variety's social media post announcing the casting with one user in the replies called Erivo playing Christ 'anti-Christian bigotry' by 'Hollywood.' But Erivo told Billboard, 'Why not?' as she shrugged off naysayers. 'The more yourself you are, the more you are in front of people who don't necessarily understand, the better understanding starts to happen,' she said. As much as she wants to be 'a person you can get positive things from' since 'that is the only way you can balance this stuff,' she couldn't help getting in a jab at Donald Trump for his takeover of the Kennedy Center, where Erivo played some of the most iconic performances of her career. 'I don't know who gains what from that. I hope that it comes back,' she said. 'It's really sad to have to watch this happen to it. The Kennedy Center is supposed to be a space of creativity and art and music for everyone.' That said, assimilating to appease Trump and his 'anti-woke' mob isn't on the star's to-do list, she added. 'I want to encourage people to not decide to just tuck away and start hiding and not being themselves anymore,' she said, 'because that is exactly what they want.'
