Distinguished guests
Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Her Excellency Ambassador Anne Jalado-on Louis; Labor Attaché Dr. Orville Ballitoc; Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Welfare Officer Ms. Juvilyn Gumabay; Ms. Celia V. Cabadonga, Supervising Administrative Staff of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO); and Mr. Yusuf Lori, Director of Communication and Follow-up of the Bahrain Capital Governorate — each representing unwavering support for the community and the humanitarian spirit of the occasion.
These interfaith initiatives were spearheaded by Pinay IKaw Na (PIN), coordinated by its president, Dinah Sta. Ana, along with Good Cause Bahrain chairperson, Antonette Guese Avila.
A total of 18 teams from various groups and professions participated in the competition, resulting in a challenging and highly competitive tournament.
Engaging matches
Through a series of engaging matches, APO Bahrain Alumni Association emerged Champion on account of their outstanding team coordination and reliability on the lanes.
THE FOBS emerged as the 1st Runner-Up, with AB Guardians earning the 2nd Runner-Up.
Individual awards were given to recognize outstanding performances:

High Series (Women): Josephine Tomambo (APO Bahrain Alumni Association)
High Game (Men): Carlos Diapolet (AB Guardians)
High Game (Women): September Rose Loplop (Golden Petals)

Apart from the friendly competition, the tournament also called forth the spirit of giving.
The proceeds from the tournament will be applied to help cancer patients, distress overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and members of the community who require the most attention and care.

Pacquiao held to draw by Barrios in world title return
Manny Pacquiao's bid to make a fairytale return to boxing at the age of 46 ended in disappointment on Saturday, as the Filipino icon was held to a draw by defending WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in Las Vegas. Barrios, 30, retained his belt despite being dominated for several rounds by Pacquiao, making a comeback to the ring after a four-year retirement. Barrios was awarded the fight 115-113 by one judge, with the other two cards scoring it 114- 114. The result drew a subdued reaction from the MGM Grand Garden Arena crowd, who had roared on Pacquiao during a cagey, hard-fought contest. At times, it seemed as if Pacquiao was poised to write another improbable chapter in his 30-year professional career as he used all of his guile and experience to frustrate Barrios. But Barrios rallied furiously over the final three rounds -- he was deemed the winner of those rounds on all three cards -- to do just enough to force a result that sees him retain his title. 'I thought I won the fight,' Pacquiao said afterwards. 'I mean, it was a close fight. My opponent was very tough. But it was a wonderful fight. 'I was trying to find a way to finish the fight but my opponent was so tough. He threw punches in combination and with defense, so it was hard.' Barrios, meanwhile, felt he had done enough to deserve the draw. 'I thought I pulled it out,' Barrios said. 'But I still tip my hat to Manny. It was an honor to share the ring with him, somebody with so much experience who has accomplished so much in this sport. We left everything in the ring, nothing but love and respect.' Barrios admitted he had been awed by Pacquiao's remarkable reserves of energy and stamina. 'That's crazy -- his stamina, he can still crack and he's still strong as hell. His timing, his rhythm, everything. He was still a very awkward fighter to figure out,' he said. Barrios said he had been made aware that he needed to up his workrate to force the result over the closing rounds. 'I knew I had to step it up to try to and solidify a win,' Barrios said. 'I was really pressing him, trying to make him feel old. But he has some good legs -- a lot of the tank and a lot of fight left in him.

H.A.R.D. Shines at EuroCup 2025 in Barcelona
Hurricane Alpha Racing Dragons (H.A.R.D.) set another record in its history by claiming the silver medal in the 6th Barcelona International Dragon Boat Festival – EuroCup 2025 in Spain at Castelldefels. Racing against the world's best teams, H.A.R.D. made Bahrain proud — as well as the Filipino community and their mixed paddlers from America, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Cameroon, and Pakistan. Team Spain won the gold, and the United Kingdom secured the bronze, concluding an agonizing and unforgettable struggle. This win is a superb inspiration of harmony, self-control, and tenacity — not only for H.A.R.D. but for the entire Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) community in Bahrain as well. 'As OFWs, we bring with us our roots, our culture, and our indomitable spirit,' said Dhela C. Solidad, one of the team members. 'This medal is proof that who we are as Filipinos shines through in everything that we do.' On July 3, 2025, the team was warmly welcomed at the Philippine Embassy in Manama during a courtesy call, where they were acknowledged by Her Excellency Ann Jalando-on Louis, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain. She congratulated the team on their victory and praised them for showcasing Filipino talent on an international platform. A team of 16 — including 12 OFWs residing in Bahrain — traveled to Barcelona not only to compete but to proudly add their name to the chronicles of the Barcelona Dragon Boat Festival's roll of honor. It was a vision they aspired to engrave in silver for Bahrain. Proud Message They carried a profound message: that their united determination and unyielding solidarity could elevate them to the pinnacle of the EuroCup 2025 league — even against the world's most formidable teams. As the final race approached, the rhythmic clashing of paddles and the distant roar of the audience became the pulse of their collective aspiration — a vision they aimed to inscribe in victory. 'I am immensely proud of how the team performed at EuroCup 2025,' said Coach Julie 'Iyahh' Antonino, the 39-year-old team captain and paddler. 'We entered Barcelona with a clear strategy, and the team executed our race plan with both skill and determination. Every paddler committed fully — both physically and mentally — and we have a medal to validate our efforts.' The unity and perseverance displayed by the team serve as evidence that H.A.R.D. is an unbeatable force. 'Our success wasn't accidental,' added Coach Iyahh. 'It was the result of months of dedicated training.'
