BCTA Demands Promotions, Transfers, and Infrastructure Support in Government Schools Before New Academic Year
Dr. M.N. Vijay Kumar, State Vice President of the Bahujan Class Teachers' Association (BCTA), urged the government to promote nearly 800 pending Language Pandit posts in Telugu and Hindi through promotions before the beginning of the new academic year. Addressing a press meet, Dr. Vijay Kumar demanded the filling of all upgraded Language Pandit posts that have remained vacant across the state.
He emphasized the need to reinstate the previously issued monthly promotion orders and called on the government to complete all teacher transfers and promotions across various categories before the commencement of the new school year.
Dr. Vijay Kumar also highlighted the lack of basic support staff in schools and requested the immediate release of funds for record assistants, watchmen, scavengers, and cooking agency contracts. Stressing the importance of improving infrastructure, especially in rural schools, he urged the government to focus on strengthening public educational institutions.
He demanded the immediate release of long-pending Dearness Allowances (DA) and the implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC). Promotions for long-overdue posts, such as Junior Lecturers, Deputy DEOs, and Mandal Education Officers (MEOs), should also be addressed without further delay.
Furthermore, Dr. Vijay Kumar called for the immediate disbursement of GPF Part Final funds and pending dues for retired teachers. To enhance foundational language skills at the primary level, he requested the recruitment of qualified Telugu, Hindi, and Urdu language teachers.
Prominent Gazetted Headmasters Abel, Nagaraju, Prabhakar, Aruna, and others participated in the event.

Rahul has tea with dead voters from Bihar, thanks EC for experience
New Delhi, Aug 13 (PTI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said he had a unique experience of having tea with some 'dead" voters from Bihar and thanked the Election Commission for it. A group of seven voters from Bihar met the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha at his residence and shared their experience of how they were declared 'dead" by the EC and their names removed from the electoral rolls. 'There have been many interesting experiences in life, but I never got the chance to have tea with 'dead people'. For this unique experience, thank you Election Commission!" Gandhi said in a post in Hindi on X. He also shared a video of his meeting with the 'dead" voters. In it, Gandhi is heard telling them to move around and see Delhi as the 'dead" cannot even be charged tickets. In the video, some of them told Gandhi that they came to know that they were 'declared dead" by the EC during the special intensive revision (SIR), and were among the 65 lakh voters whose names have been removed from the electoral rolls of poll-bound Bihar. The group also told Gandhi that they appeared before the Supreme Court on Wednesday to get their voting rights back. The apex court is hearing petitions against the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. In a statement, the party later said that seven voters from Bihar, all very much alive, shared tea with Rahul Gandhi today, even as the Election Commission's SIR list had them as 'dead". Ramikbal Ray, Harendra Ray, Lalmuni Devi, Vachiya Devi, Lalwati Devi, Punam Kumari, and Munna Kumar all belong to Tejashwi Yadav's constituency, Raghopur. 'They have been removed from the electoral rolls despite having completed the requisite paperwork for the SIR. 'The Election Commission has not openly published lists of the people whom it has declared dead, migrated, etc. Our teams on the ground were able to identify these people only because they managed to informally get EC's internal report in two to three polling booths," the Congress said. These seven represent only a fraction of 'unjustly" deleted voters in two to three polling booths in the constituency, it added. 'This is not a clerical error — it is political disenfranchisement in plain sight. 'After 'Vote Chori' was exposed in Bengaluru, it is clear that the Bihar SIR exercise is also compromised. When the living are struck off as dead, the death certificate is issued to democracy itself," the Congress said. After over 4-year delay, UPPSC clears CBI probe in APS-2010
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to accelerate its probe into irregularities in the 2010 additional private secretary (APS) recruitment after the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) granted permission to investigate its officers allegedly involved in the case. The decision comes four-and-a-half years after the CBI first sought cooperation from the Commission. The state government had recommended a CBI probe on September 4, 2018. (Sourced) Notably, CBI director Praveen Sood wrote to the state chief secretary on May 26, warning that in the absence of concrete progress within 30 days, the agency might close investigations prematurely for lack of cooperation. The commission responded on June 25 by forwarding formal approval to the CBI. The commission had kept the approval confidential. The action emerged in a counter-affidavit filed in Allahabad high court on July 22, 2025, on behalf of several officers named in the probe. The affidavit records an office order dated June 25, 2025, that authorises an enquiry under section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, against three officials, including the petitioner. Deputy Secretary Vinod Kumar Singh filed the counter affidavit; it lists respondents as the commission chairman, the secretary acting as enquiry officer, the deputy secretary (establishment), and the controller of examinations. Advocate Sanjay Kumar Om confirmed the filing of the document in Civil Misc. Writ Petition No 1571 of 2025. Prashant Pandey, media in-charge of the Pratiyogi Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti, demanded a named case against the accused persons, followed by arrests to expose all those allegedly involved in the corruption. The state government had recommended a CBI probe on September 4, 2018, after preliminary inquiries uncovered strong evidence of irregularities. On December 30, 2020, the CBI sought permission from the appointment department to investigate the then controller of examinations, IAS officer Prabhunath, plus three commission officers under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The appointment department cleared action against the then controller. The commission withheld permission to probe its officers; consequently, the FIR filed by the CBI on August 4, 2021, named only the then controller of examinations. The CBI repeatedly requested permission from the commission to advance the probe while seeking government intervention. APS 2010 among UPPSC's most controversial recruitments The APS 2010 recruitment is among the commission's most contentious processes. Conducted for 250 posts, the exercise involved alleged rule changes in the Hindi stenographer examination that allowed some candidates to enter a third phase of testing. Computer certificates submitted for selected candidates included documents described as forged. Evaluation of Hindi stenographer answer sheets, along with the Hindi type test, reportedly lacked proper scrutiny; marks were altered in some instances to favour specific candidates. As a result, deserving candidates missed out on the merit list while ineligible persons gained selection.
