BCTA Demands Promotions, Transfers, and Infrastructure Support in Government Schools Before New Academic Year

Dr. M.N. Vijay Kumar, State Vice President of the Bahujan Class Teachers' Association (BCTA), urged the government to promote nearly 800 pending Language Pandit posts in Telugu and Hindi through promotions before the beginning of the new academic year. Addressing a press meet, Dr. Vijay Kumar demanded the filling of all upgraded Language Pandit posts that have remained vacant across the state.
He emphasized the need to reinstate the previously issued monthly promotion orders and called on the government to complete all teacher transfers and promotions across various categories before the commencement of the new school year.
Dr. Vijay Kumar also highlighted the lack of basic support staff in schools and requested the immediate release of funds for record assistants, watchmen, scavengers, and cooking agency contracts. Stressing the importance of improving infrastructure, especially in rural schools, he urged the government to focus on strengthening public educational institutions.
He demanded the immediate release of long-pending Dearness Allowances (DA) and the implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC). Promotions for long-overdue posts, such as Junior Lecturers, Deputy DEOs, and Mandal Education Officers (MEOs), should also be addressed without further delay.
Furthermore, Dr. Vijay Kumar called for the immediate disbursement of GPF Part Final funds and pending dues for retired teachers. To enhance foundational language skills at the primary level, he requested the recruitment of qualified Telugu, Hindi, and Urdu language teachers.
Prominent Gazetted Headmasters Abel, Nagaraju, Prabhakar, Aruna, and others participated in the event.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik said on Saturday (June 7, 2025) that the Centre is trying to frame him in false chargesheets by threatening him with cases filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). In a post on X in Hindi, Mr. Malik said, 'The tender they want to implicate me in was one I personally cancelled. I had informed the Prime Minister about the corruption in that matter, and after informing him, I cancelled that tender myself. After my transfer, that tender was approved with someone else's signature.' Mr. Malik said he is admitted in the Intensive Unit Care (ICU) of a hospital for kidney-related ailment. 'My condition is becoming very serious. Whether I survive or not, I want to tell the truth to my fellow countrymen — When I was Governor, I was offered bribes of ₹150 to ₹150 crore, but like my political mentor, the late farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh, I worked with honesty, and my integrity could never be shaken,' he said. The case in which Mr. Malik has been chargesheeted involves the awarding of ₹2,200 crore worth of civil works for the Kiru Hydroelectric Project. Registered by the CBI in April 2022 on a reference from the Jammu and Kashmir government, the FIR alleged Chenab Valley Power Project (P) Limited (CVPPPL), at its 47th board meeting, had decided to cancel the then ongoing tendering process and re-tender for the works through e-tenders with reverse auction. The FIR alleged that the very next board meeting of the CCVPPL saw this decision reversed, leading to the contract being awarded to Patel Engineering in 2019. In the chargesheet filed in the case by the CBI last month, besides Mr. Malik, who was the Governor of J&K from August 23, 2018, to October 30, 2019, seven others had been chargesheeted. This included the then MD of CVPPL, M.S. Babu, and directors M.K. Mittal and Arun Kumar Mishra. Others charged are then Managing Director of Patel Engineering Limited, Rupen Patel (deceased), along with Virender Rana, Kanwar Singh Rana, and Kanwaljeet Singh Duggal. 'The government has put all its strength into defaming me. In the end, my request to the government and its agencies is to please tell the truth to the beloved people of my country — what did you find against me in your investigations? The truth, however, is that after serving the nation in very high positions for over 50 years in my political life, I still live in a single-room house and am in debt. If I had wealth today, I would be getting treatment in a private hospital,' he said.

"India following zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism": Rajnath Singh highlights Op Sindoor, calls for global unity
New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asserted that India has demonstrated a successful strategy to defeat terrorism, laying out five key positions on how the global community can uproot such activities, and assured retaliation against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism while showing zero tolerance against this menace. In an article titled 'We've shown how to defeat terror,' published in an English Daily, Singh reflects on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and India's subsequent response through Operation Sindoor, emphasising the nation's resolve under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, India is following a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. Fighting against terror is not optional but it's our collective duty. It's high time the global community unites to uproot this menace from its roots. BJP leader Jagmohan Singh Raju writes to PM Narendra Modi for release of Sikh prisoners
On the 41st anniversary of Operation Bluestar, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state general secretary and former IAS officer Jagmohan Singh Raju wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to release Sikh prisoners on humanitarian grounds. Sharing the letter on his Facebook page, Raju said, 'Release Sikh prisoners on humanitarian grounds – put final lid on the Dark Era of 1980s in Punjab (sic).' In the letter penned in Hindi, he wrote: 'Today, June 6, is the day of pain and anger for the Sikh Panth. On this day in 1984, as you uttered in the Parliament, an attack was launched on the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, Akal Takht. You are the first Prime Minister who officially recognised this as an attack on the Akal Takht. Even Sikh PM Manmohan Singh did not have courage to accept this reality.' 'The attack on Akal Takht wounded the Sikh psyche and pride permanently. Due to lack of mature leadership needed to pacify hurt sentiments of Panth, Sikh youths opted for insurgency against this oppression. In revenge, Indira Gandhi, the then PM, was assassinated, followed by Sikh massacre in Delhi…This bloody era eliminated a generation of Sikh youths,' read the letter. 'Modi ji, I humbly request you to reconsider the release of Sikh prisoners on grounds of justice and compassion. They committed the crime because they were enraged over the attack on Golden Temple. They have served the adequate punishment for their offences. Time has come now to show compassion for them,' he wrote Raju unsuccessfully contested the 2022 assembly elections on a BJP ticket from Amritsar East.
