CPS employees to take a ‘Pension March' on Sept 1

Tirupati: Associate President of Andhra Pradesh CPS Employees' Association (APCPSEA), Cheerla Kiran, announced that thousands of CPS employees will participate in a 'Pension March' between Vijayawada and Guntur on September 1. The protest aims to demand the withdrawal of what they call 'illegal cases' filed against CPS employees, immediate release of pending Interim Relief, DA arrears, and the implementation of the PRC (Pay Revision Commission). Speaking to the media in Tirupati on Sunday, he accused successive governments of betraying CPS employees, describing September 1 as a 'day of betrayal' for the community. He called on all CPS employees across the state to participate in the march without fail. Kiran said that over the past 20 years, nearly 400,000 CPS employees in the state have faced severe hardships due to the lack of pensions. Even after one year in power, the coalition government has neither initiated talks with employees nor given a clear assurance on CPS abolition. There has been no movement on PRC, DA, or IR, and instead, leaders of employee unions are being harassed for raising these issues, causing mental distress to staff and teachers. CPS leaders Vankeepuram Pawan, Ramachandra, Srinivasulu, Chalapati, and others participated in the event.

Apco employees to get 2022 PRC benefits

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Handlooms Weavers Cooperative Society (Apco) has announced the implementation of the 2022 Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for its employees. This decision, expected to benefit permanent staff, was a key outcome of the governing body meeting held on Wednesday at the Apco central office. The meeting, chaired by R P Sisodia, special chief secretary, handlooms and textiles department, saw thorough discussions on various issues concerning handloom workers and the cooperative's growth. 'Despite the financial challenges faced by Apco, the institution is focused on developing a comprehensive action plan for its growth while addressing employee aspirations,' said Sisodia. He confirmed that revised salaries would be given to employees starting now. Further enhancing employee benefits, the board also approved a proposal allowing staff to monetise 15 days of earned leave annually. Apco managing director Vishwam Manoharan said that the board endorsed several strategic decisions for the institution's progress. Among these, an action plan will be formulated based on a comprehensive report by the Indian Institute of Management, which conducted a study on Apco's operations. In a bid to boost sales and reach, Manoharan announced plans to modernise Apco's website to promote global sales. He also stated that products from both Apco and Lepakshi (another state-run handicrafts emporium) would be made available in each other's showrooms, an initiative welcomed by the board. Additionally, it was resolved to release pending dues to cooperative societies. G Rekha Rani, commissioner for handlooms and textiles, reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring better wages for handloom workers. NABARD AGM Milind Chousalkar, Apcob CGM Narra Venkat Ratnam, NCDC regional director Goswami, and industries department deputy secretary Neetla Veera Vijaya Kumari (who joined online) and others took part in the meeting.

Govt staff JAC defers strike plan after cabinet accepts key demands

Hyderabad: The govt employees joint action committee (JAC) has indefinitely postponed their strike scheduled to be launched from June 9 following the state cabinet's decision to release two DAs and accept some of their main demands such as health cards and transfers. The JAC will meet again by the end of the month after the cabinet decisions are formally documented to decide their future course of action. JAC secretary general Eluri Sreenivasa Rao told TOI that the announcement of two DAs, govt agreeing to clear Rs 700 crore per month in pending bills of employees, constitution of a medical invalidation committee, health cards, a departmental promotion committee for transfers and recognition of employees' unions were some of the main demands of the JAC that have been agreed to by the govt. "As a result, the JAC has decided to indefinitely postpone its strike call. However, the govt did not announce anything about our other main demands such as 51% fitment (Pay Revision Commission) and reverting to the old pension system. There were a total of 57 demands, and the JAC is expecting to meet again with the IAS officers' committee led by Navin Mittal and cabinet sub-committee led by deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka to seek a commitment from the govt on the remaining demands," Sreenivasa Rao said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esta nueva alarma con cámara es casi regalada en San Rafael (ver precio) Verisure Undo Sources in the govt said that although the cabinet discussed the 51% fitment (PRC) demand, it was of the view that more time was needed to announce a consensual fitment, if not 51%, as the govt has decided to clear pending bills of employees every month and has also announced two DAs, both of which are financially intensive demands. "A decision on increasing the retirement age of govt employees was kept pending, anticipating severe backlash from the students and unemployed youth. The govt is of the opinion that no step should be taken at this juncture which may antagonise the youth, who are happy with the incumbent govt giving nearly 60,000 jobs in its first year of office. A decision on the age of superannuation may be taken after panchayat and municipal polls, but only after giving job notifications for at least another 30,000 govt posts," said the source. Regarding the employees' demand for reverting to the old pension system, an election promise of the Congress, sources said the govt may make an announcement about it only in the last year of its present term or a few months before the next assembly elections. Addressing a press meet, Dr. Vijay Kumar demanded the filling of all upgraded Language Pandit posts that have remained vacant across the state. He emphasized the need to reinstate the previously issued monthly promotion orders and called on the government to complete all teacher transfers and promotions across various categories before the commencement of the new school year. Telangana government not sincere in fulfilling its declarations, says Harish Rao

HYDERABAD: Finding fault with the Congress government for failing to implement earlier declarations and coming out with a new one, BRS leader and former minister T Harish Rao alleged that the government lacked sincerity in fulfilling its promises. In a statement on Monday, Harish Rao criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who claims to hail from Nallamala, for allegedly ordering arrest of tribals while simultaneously announcing the Nallamala Declaration. 'Is this what you call Praja Palana?' Harish Rao questioned. He said the public was angry with the government for not honouring its assurances. 'Farmers are in a pathetic situation, forced to make repeated rounds to banks due to the government's failure to waive crop loans,' he said. He added that farmers who lost their crops at procurement centres or due to hailstorms were looking to the government for support. Harish Rao further pointed out that women were still waiting for the promised Rs 2,500 monthly support under the Mahalakshmi scheme. Parents of unmarried girls were awaiting the one tola gold, and girls were yet to receive the two-wheelers promised to them. Unemployed youth were eagerly waiting for notifications to fill two lakh government jobs, while students were hoping for Rs 5 lakh cards under the Vidya Bharosa scheme. He alleged that pensions had not been disbursed to physically handicapped persons, and government employees were still waiting for their DA installments and the implementation of the Pay Revision Commission. 'The government hasn't even absorbed RTC employees into regular government service,' he said. Harish Rao also criticised the chief minister for being inconsistent in his statements. 'The chief minister, who recently claimed that the state was bankrupt, is now saying that Telangana ranks number one in tax collections,' he said. 'Even the chameleons in the Nallamala forest are shocked at how frequently Revanth Reddy changes his colours,' he quipped.
