John's cruel new move that destroys Emmerdale's Robert

Metro7 hours ago
Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is a huge threat to John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in Emmerdale and he knows he need to get rid.
John is on a mission to discredit Robert to everyone around him because Robert has been getting dangerously close to discovering the truth about John's killer tendencies.
Robert has already twigged that there's something iffy going on with the amount of lives John has apparently saved.
And Robert is close to cracking the case of Owen – the man found dead with a suicide note claiming that he killed Nate. He knows it was John, he just doesn't fully know he knows.
John has been manipulating and gaslighting Robert and those around them to protect himself, but now he finds a way to truly destroy Robert, and there's no need for needles, spanners, or fake suicide notes.
John hits him where it hurts through Harry.
Robert has been working hard to get things with his family back on track and has tried to be the doting uncle since his return. He's helped Vic out with childcare, had a kick about with Harry, made him breakfast. Wholesome.
That, as John identifies, is his weak spot.
Vic (Isabel Hodgins) persuades Robert to spend some more time with Harry and it goes swimmingly. That is until he takes him to the café where he finds Aaron (Danny Miller). John finds him chatting to Aaron, and all is suddenly very much not ok.
John's blood instantly boils, and he comes up with his new plan. With Robert busy, John spends some time with Harry, putting thoughts in his head.

His plan is put into action when Robert takes Harry home and Harry decides to start drumming. The kid won't quit, and Robert's patience only go so far. When he hits his limit, he unleashes fury on the child. Who should walk in at that exact moment? Uncle John. More Trending
John smirks as Harry runs straight to him for comfort and Robert is left feeling crushed. On returning home, John can't want to tell Aaron what an idiot Robert is, and it looks like he's truly found his weak spot.
Once it gets out that he's now also aggressive towards children on top of everything else, Robert is cooked.

Actor Ray Brooks famous for the voice of 1970s TV character Mr Benn dies aged 86 after a short illness and dementia battle

Actor Ray Brooks, who found fame as the voice of the 1970s TV character Mr Benn, has died at the age of 86. The star, who became one of just a few actors to star in both Coronation Street and EastEnders, had a career spanning five decades. As well as his work in soap and children's TV, Ray also starred in primetime 1980s programme Big Deal, where he starred as gambler Robbie Box, and 1960s BBC drama Cathy Come Home. In a statement to the BBC, Ray's sons Will and Tom confirmed that he had passed away after a short illness. Will and Tom said that Ray died peacefully on Saturday with his family at his bedside, and they revealed he had been living with dementia in his final years. Ray shared his sons with wife Sadie, who he married in 2916. The couple also had a daughter Emma, who died in 2003. The brothers said that their dad thought he was best known as an actor for narrating the 1970s TV show Mr Benn. They added that Ray would have 'people continually asking him to say the catchphrase "as if by magic!"' They added: 'Although only 13 episodes were made, they were repeated twice a year for 21 years.' Ray appeared in ITV soap Coronation Street in 1964 as Norman Phillips as a recurring character. Almost fifty years later, Ray joined the cast of BBC's rival soap EastEnders as Joe Macer in 2005. Ray's final appearance was on the show was in January 2007 when his character confessed to killing his wife Pauline at Christmas. Joe later fell from a window to his death. Ray's sons said however that their dad was not a fan of the limelight, adding: 'His three true loves were family, Fulham Football Club, and spending time in Brighton, where he was born.' Speaking about his career to Sussex Life, Ray previously said: 'I was naive, [...] I thought casting directors would come to me. 'But although people did offer me work, very often the films didn't materialise because they couldn't get the money together. 'And, actually, I don't think I was ever that good an actor. I was more an image of a young man.' He added: 'I was never as good looking as, say, my contemporary, David Hemmings. 'And don't forget this was the period of Terence Stamp. So there was a lot of competition.'

Paul Hollywood's brother ‘punched to the floor and kicked' in horror attack

Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood's brother, Lee Hollywood, was attacked in a 'nasty' and 'unprovoked' assault (Picture: Shutterstock) The brother of Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood has been victim of a brutal attack, during which he was punched to the ground and kicked in the face. Taking to Instagram this weekend, Paul, 59, re-shared a Facebook post by Wirral police which outlined details of the attack. The initial post detailed how a man 'in his 50s' was walking his dog when he got into a dispute with another dog owner. It continued: 'The dogs were separated by the other male who then became irate. As the man walked away he was approached from behind and punched to the floor by the male. He was then kicked in the face and back before the male made off.' Police revealed that the unnamed man suffered 'injuries to his back and face,' and was taken to hospital for treatment while officers investigate witnesses and CCTV. The TV judge and celebrity baker has since identified the attack victim as his younger brother Lee Hollywood, and launched his own appeal for information. Paul has shared the police's appeal for information (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock) Lee Hollywood is the brother of TV baker Paul (Picture: Shutterstock) Sharing the post to his Instagram account, Paul wrote: 'If you have information regarding this attack on Friday night, the person in question who was attacked is my brother Lee. 'Any information please follow details above Thankyou.' The post by Wirral Police also included a statement from Detective Inspector Phil Ryan, who said: 'This was a nasty and unprovoked assault which left the man needing hospital treatment. 'We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Links View Playing fields or Shackleton Road at around 7pm last night who heard or saw the incident or saw the male leaving the area to contact us.' Local police are investigating the crime (Picture: Facebook) Like his older brother, Lee is a baker, and worked with Paul at their father's bakery in York – until the celebrity baker hit the big time, that is. 'I'm the grafter of the family, Paul's too busy with Bake-Off. The last time he made a proper loaf was about ten years ago,' Lee joked to The Daily Mail in 2016. Lee used to run Liverpool's Born & Bread, supplying baked goods to local businesses, although this reportedly went into administration in recent years. Paul previously shared his fear that Lee would die after he contracted COVID (Picture: Shutterstock) In 2021, Paul revealed how he feared Lee 'could die' after being hospitalised with COVID during the height of the virus. 'My brother phoned me up a couple of weeks ago to say he caught Covid,' he told The Sun at the time. 'It was a huge panic….I didn't want to lose him.' Paul grew famous as a celebrity bake and Bake Off host while brother Lee continued working in the industry (Picture: Channel 4) He continued: 'My other brother, Jason set up this WhatsApp group. We were bombarding him 'Where are you? What's happening? Are you in ICU?' And it was a huge panic for me. I don't want to lose my brother.' Thankfully, Lee made a full recovery, to the great relief of Paul and the rest of their family. Got a story?
