DRDO Jaisalmer guest house manager caught spying for Pakistan, arrested
Mahendra Prasad, the accused, was produced before a court in Jaipur on Wednesday and was sent to a two-day police remand.
The accused, a resident of Uttarakhand's Almora, was posted as the manager of the DRDO guest house in Chandan area of Jaisalmer and was detained following intelligence inputs against him on August 4. After a joint interrogation in Jaipur, he was placed under arrest on Tuesday night.
Investigating officer Vinod Meena said that the accused had shared information related to missile testing and the movement of scientists with a Pakistani handler via social media.
The accused had access to details regarding the visit of Indian scientists and DRDO officers to the firing range for various technical operations, including missile trials.
'Information about which scientists were coming and what kind of work they were doing was being shared by Mahendra with a Pakistani handler," he said.
The officer said that Kumar was tracked over time and sufficient evidence was gathered. Following this, he was detained, interrogated and arrested.
'During interrogation, it was revealed that Mahendra had been in contact with Pakistani intelligence operatives via social media platforms for a long time. He had been passing on information about missile trials and DRDO activities to them," Meena said. PTI SDA KSS KSS KSS

The Customs officials also recovered one FICN from Hotel Adya International, Andheri East, where Danish and Sarasvati had stayed before their arrest, the NIA said. After taking over the case, which exposed the use of banking channels and postal services to transfer FICNs in exchange for genuine currency, the NIA found that Danish and Sarasvati had conspired with Amir and Kalil to smuggle high-quality counterfeit currency from Malaysia to India, with the intent of destabilising India's financial system, it added. Patrol team nabs nine women with liquor worth 68k
Ahmedabad: Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of the city crime branch intercepted nine women near the Chandkheda BRTS stop on Wednesday and seized Indian-made foreign liquor worth Rs 68,520. Giving details of the operation on Thursday, police officials said the women were found standing with 15 bags containing liquor quarters and beer cans. The team recovered 192 quarter bottles of whisky, 360 of vodka, and 96 beer cans, all marked 'For Sale in Rajasthan Only'. Officials said the women did not possess any pass or permit for transporting the liquor. The seized whisky was valued at Rs 22,080, vodka at Rs 33,480, beer at Rs 12,960, and bags at Rs 750, taking the total value of the seizure to Rs 69,270. Police said during questioning, the women admitted to purchasing the liquor in small quantities from various outlets in Abu Road, Rajasthan, and bringing it to Ahmedabad for retail sale. Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) police have registered an FIR under Sections 65(A)(E), 81, and 116(B) of the Prohibition Act, and are tracing the supply network.
