Kaizer Chiefs bosses to sign two Sundowns superstars?
Kaizer Chiefs supporters have been engaged in passionate conversations following Mamelodi Sundowns' decisions on Sipho Mbule and Rivaldo Coetzee.
The two players, both still in the peak years of their careers, were once targets of Kaizer Chiefs before moving to the Betway Premier champions.
The duo's super agent, Mike Makaab, has confirmed that Mbule and Coetzee are free agents after Sundowns decided against extending their expiring deals.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Makaab revealed the news: 'Sipho Mbule Mbule and Rivaldo Coetzee are free,' Makaab told FARPost . 'They are leaving Mamelodi Sundowns after the club didn't take options on their contracts.'

Will Kaizer Chiefs, known as the Glamour Boys, consider Mbule and Coetzee? What is clear is that the club needs depth in midfield, especially a creative number eight.

Coetzee, aged 28, formerly with Ajax Cape Town as a captain at the age of 17, is the most experienced with 223 matches in the Premier Soccer League and CAF Champions League.
Mbule, much admired by Kaizer Chiefs fans, has 169 matches under his belt and is still 27 years old. Mbule and Coetzee also have a combined eight PSL championship-winning medals. Coetzee has lifted the title six times while Mbule has won two titles.

Reflecting on their inconsistent run in the 2024/25 campaign, they'll be left ruing the many missed chances, especially after losing more than half of their matches this past season. The appointment of Diogo Peral, supported by assistants Roger de Sa and Lebogang Manyama, has not delivered the intended turnaround. A side that ended the 2023/24 season in a respectable fifth place, has now found themselves in a desperate battle to avoid losing their top-flight status. Still, there is reason for optimism. City picked up a valuable four points from their final two matches, which gave them hope all the way to the closing moments of the season. Peral and his team will aim to build on that late surge and carry some momentum into the play-offs. Their opening match of the mini-tournament is next week Saturday in Cape Town against Stars. Orbit College The Rustenburg-based club were massively improved this season. From a ninth-place finish in the 2023/24 campaign, to ending just five points behind eventual champions Durban City, their rise has been impressive. The College side will be eager to maintain the form that has turned them from mid-table competitors into serious contenders for the title and a place in the top flight. They'll face a tough test from City and a Stars sides they failed to beat in both encounters this season. There is very little margin for error, and they'll know that these chances don't come around often and this could be their best opportunity in years to secure a place in the Betway Premiership. R7 million offer made for Kaizer Chiefs striker target!
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly already moving to ensure they put to an end their goal scoring woes for next season. Chiefs struggled to score goals with their forwards failing to get over the five-goal mark in the 2024/25 season. Coach Nasreddine Nabi made it no secret that he wanted to bring in a striker, when he arrived at Chiefs. He didn't get his wish in his first window but was able to add two forwards in January. The latest striker linked to Chiefs is Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Etiosa Ighodaro according to Soccer-Laduma . Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of three players in the past few days. Despite claiming the Nedbank Cup, Amakhosi have had a tough season, finishing ninth in the Betway Premiership. With Nasreddine Nabi desperate to change the club's fortunes, Chiefs are offloading players to make room as they look to sign quality players for next season. The players released are Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom and Ranga Chivaviro. Other players such as George Matlou are rumoured to be on their way out while Fiarce Ntwari has attracted interest from other teams. On Wednesday, the club released Chivaviro after two seasons despite the striker showing good form early in the season. 'Kaizer Chiefs will not be extending striker Ranga Chivaviro's contract when it expires at the end of the month. 'The Limpopo-born attacker joined Amakhosi from Marumo Gallants in the 2023/24 season on a two-year deal. He scored nine goals and provided one assist in 45 official matches wearing Chiefs colours over two seasons.' We thank Ranga for his positive contribution to the team and wish him all the best in his future exploits,' the club said in a statement.
