Jodie Sweetin shares update on Candace Cameron Bure relationship
Jodie Sweetin wouldn't "hug" Candace Cameron Bure if she saw her but she doesn't "hate" her. The 43-year-old actress insisted she and her former 'Full House' co-star - who came under fire in 2022 when she vowed to keep "traditional marriage at the core" of Great American Family's programming - have never "actually got into it" when it comes to their opposing views on topics such as the LGBTQ+ community and compared their dynamic to extended families who know discussing politics will end in a row. Speaking on 'The Vault' podcast, Jodie said: "She posted her viewpoint and I posted mine. We've always been very different on those things. "Candace and I – we just live very different lifestyles. We just exist in sort of very different worlds, but she is still someone I have known since I was five years old. "It's like family members, where you're like, maybe we don't talk all the time — and I know if politics come up, it is not going to go well — but I don't hate you. I am not going to not hug you, but I am also not gonna keep my mouth shut." Last year, Candace, 49, branded the Paris Olympics opening ceremony "disgusting" because she felt it "completely blasphemed...the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper" and Jodie later reposted a video to her own Instagram Story which explained the scene was an interpretation of the Greek god Dionysus. However, she has insisted she wasn't taking a deliberate swipe at her former co-star. She said: "To be honest, I wasn't even speaking about her. "There was already some thing that had happened where we went [on] very divergent paths on something we said – and then I saw the Olympics thing and I saw all these people freaking out about it, and I was like, 'Oh my God, tell me you know nothing about art history without telling me you know nothing,' and then everyone was like, 'She came for Candace!' And I was like, 'What the?' " While Candace unfollowed Jodie on Instagram three years ago, she insisted she won't be doing the same. She said: "I'm not gonna unfollow anybody. I don't live my life based on social media. I think it can be used for some great things, and I also think it can be really negative and full of a lot of s***, particularly these days.'

When it comes to Sweetin's two daughters — Beatrix, 14, and Zoie, 17 — she confirmed they were never interested in checking out their mom's acting roots, simply calling it "weird." Barber, who is mom to Felicity, 16, and Tate, 19, said her kids also "didn't really care," "They're just normal teenagers. They don't care what their parents do," Barber tells PEOPLE. "They were like, 'It's mom. You yell at us to go clean our room.' Whenever Sweetin's kids saw it, it was because, "It was probably on Nick at Nite or something. I'm sure my mom or dad, when the kids were little, was like, 'Oh, you want to watch mom on the show?' And even at two, they were probably like, 'No.'" When it came time for the cast to reunite for Fuller House, Barber said her kids "loved coming to the live tapings on Friday nights." It gave the costars' kids a chance to connect, with Barber noting how close in age Felicity and Zoie are. "Oh my god, they loved hanging out," Sweetin agrees. "They just wanted to hang out with Michael and Soni and Elias. They didn't come to see what we did." "They were hardly ever in the audience. They were down in the schoolroom. Remember the time we were doing the scene, and I literally heard Zoie yelling in the school room in the back? And I was like, 'That's my kid,' on a tape night," she laughs. During the live show, which also featured an appearance from costars John Stamos and Lori Loughlin, the group opened up about whether they had any regrets with the original series, during which they referenced the end of the series. "I wish we had gotten a proper goodbye," Barber shared. "We didn't know we weren't coming back. We did it out of order," Stamos recalled. "The episodes where Michelle gets amnesia, which was how we ended the show, that was last to air. Christian rock band ‘shattered' over former member's sexual assault accusations
Christian rockers Newsboys have reacted to years-long sexual assault, drug abuse and grooming allegations against the band's former lead singer, Michael Tait. "Last night our hearts were shattered when we read the news alleging drug abuse and inappropriate sexual actions by our former lead singer, Michael Tait," the group wrote in an Instagram post Thursday, June 5. 'While Michael has not addressed these allegations, we are devastated even by the implications,' Newsboys wrote. 'We are horrified, heartbroken, and angry at this report and in many ways, we feel as if we and our families have been deceived for the last fifteen years.' Tait, 59, is accused of grooming and sexually assaulting numerous victims dating back more than two decades, according to lengthy investigation by The Roys Report. At least three men claim Tait befriended them separately while he was on tour in 2004, 2010 and 2014. All men were 22 years old at the time. Two men told TRR they woke up to the singer touching their private parts after falling asleep from drinking alcohol. One man claimed Tait also offered him cocaine on the Newsboys tour bus. The third man said Tait gave him a back massage while skinny dipping and later invited him sleep in his bed. It was there that Tait 'non-consensually massaged his anal region,'the victim told TRR. 'First and foremost, our hearts are with the victims who have bravely shared their stories. If you are a victim, we urge you to come forward. We absolutely do not condone any form of sexual assault,' Newsboys wrote in the band's statement. 'The four of us are husbands and fathers. Between the four of us, we have fourteen children. Our wives and children have made many sacrifices while we have dedicated our lives to playing music together that glorifies God.' The band added that Tait admitted to 'living a double-life' when he left Newsboys in January. However, the group 'never imagined that it could be this bad.' Tait has yet to publicly respond to the accusations. Newsboys was founded in Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia in 1985. The band has released 17 studio albums, six of which have been certified platinum by the RIAA. Newsboys' most successful singles include 'God's Not Dead (Like a Lion),' 'We Believe' and 'He Reigns.' Newsboys also has received four Grammy Award nominations. None of the original members are still part of Newsboys. As of 2025, the band consisted of singer Adam Agee, electric guitarist Jody Davis, keyboardist Jeff Frankenstein and drummer Duncan Phillips.
