Deadline hit the black carpet for interviews with director Joseph Kosinski, stars Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Sarah Niles, and Tobias Menzies, as well as producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Also among the star-studded guest list was producer and F1 legend Lewis Hamilton, Tom Cruise, Naomi Campbell, footballer Gareth Bale, musician Tate McRae and actress Simone Ashley, despite her scenes being cut from the movie.

In Apple's F1, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, Formula 1's most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he's a racer-for-hire when he's approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling team on the verge of collapse, who convinces Sonny to take one last shot at saving the team and becoming the best in the world. His past is tough to outrace, though, and his biggest competition might be his own teammate, the hotshot rookie Joshua Pearce (Idris). Kerry Condon also stars in the film as the team's Technical Director.
F1 is in theaters June 27, 2027.

Netflix orders Season 3 of live-action adventure 'One Piece'
Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Netflix has announced it ordered Season 3 of its live-action, pirate adventure, One Piece. Production is set to resume in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year, the streaming service said Saturday. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for Season 3. Season 2 is expected to premiere in 2026. "Luffy (Inaki Godoy) and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line -- a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn," the streaming service said in a synopsis. "As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world's greatest treasure, they'll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies." Asked about the status of the conversations with Parsons by Kristi Scales of 105.3 The Fan before the preseason opener against the Rams, Jones offered up s word shrimp salad. "I'm glad to see he's working out, in shape, and feels great, and so all of that's good, and, I don't have anything to comment on," Jones said. Given the extent to which Jones has been talking (and talking . . . and talking) about Parsons, the silence speaks volumes. Especially with the Hollywood premiere of the Netflix All-About-Jerry docuseries happening on Monday. This week will be about promoting The Jerry Show, which debuts on August 19. What better way to start the push for the latest NFL-Netflix partnership than to dominate the sports news with the signing of Parsons to his overdue long-term deal? Hey, if the series does well enough, maybe the NFL will end up owning 10 percent of Netflix, too.
