Juventus reignite interest in Germany international at Borussia Dortmund

Yahoo15-05-2025

Thursday's reports claim that Juventus are once again interested in striking a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Germany international Karim Adeyemi in the summer transfer window, but much depends on both sides' Champions League status for 2025-26.
As things stand, Juventus are in fourth place with two matches of the Serie A season to go, although Lazio are level on points, Roma are just one behind and Bologna two off the top four with Europa League qualification already guaranteed after winning the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night.

Dortmund, meanwhile, sit in fifth place in the Bundesliga standings, one point behind Freiburg with just one league match left to play in 2024-25. Die Borussen need Freiburg to drop points in their final game of the season against Eintracht Frankfurt if they are to qualify for the Champions League.
Champions League race leads Juventus to Adeyemi
According to Thursday's reports, the Champions League situation leaves Adeyemi in an uncertain position with Dortmund, and he is likely to leave if Dortmund do not finish the Bundesliga season in the top four.
Tuttosport claims that Juventus will be in a position to offer Adeyemi an escape route if they qualify for the Champions League themselves.

The 23-year-old is on a contract that runs until the summer of 2027, which earns him a reported €3m per season in wages, which Juventus would be ready to increase if they are able to strike a deal in the summer transfer window.

Adeyemi, who has six caps for the Germany national team, has 12 goals and nine assists from 35 appearances in all competitions this season, for a goal involvement every 101 minutes this term.
Juventus are not the only side interested in acquiring his services though, as Napoli had also enquired after his availability following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's January move to Paris Saint-Germain, while Tuttosport claims that Chelsea are also keen ahead of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool contract rebel drops HUGE hint over future

© IMAGO - Ibrahima Konate Konate will likely remain a Red next season Of course, contract talks with the club are currently stalled, so our optimism around the Frenchman's future should be muted to an extent, but a summer move away has now been cast into doubt. Advertisement Speaking with The Athletic earlier this week, Konate opened up and gave us an insight into where his head is at after an extremely busy season and we're led to believe his focus is only on Liverpool. He said: "The most important thing is not to rest on our laurels. "We've won the Premier League, which is magnificent and which made everyone happy, but it's not an end in itself. I want to win it again next year. Or win the Champions League. "When next season begins, we shouldn't forget about the title, because we won it and it's etched in history, but we'll need to set it aside and say to ourselves, 'That's behind us. Now, do we have the desire and the physical and mental strength to do what we did last season again?'".

Chelsea approach Dortmund for Jamie Gittens transfer, seven-year contract agreed

Chelsea have submitted an official proposal to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and have agreed a seven-year contract with the forward. The 20-year-old is keen on a move and only wants to join Chelsea, who hold a long-standing interest in the England Under-21 international. The Athletic reported on June 3 that Gittens and Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho were on Chelsea's list of winger targets in the summer window. Advertisement Chelsea's move comes after the club opted against making Jadon Sancho's 2024-25 season-long loan deal a permanent move, having scored five goals in 41 appearances during his move from Manchester United. Bayern Munich had previously expressed an interested in a summer move for Gittens, but a bid never materialised. Gittens joined Dortmund in 2020 from Manchester City's youth system and has made 106 first-team appearances for the German club, with whom he is contracted through to 2028. 2024-25 was a breakthrough season for the England Under-21 international, who scored 12 goals for Dortmund including four in the Champions League. Predominantly a left winger, Gittens has also been deployed in an attacking midfield role. He is yet to be capped at senior level with England, with whom he won the European Championship in 2022 at under-19 level. (Ulrik Pedersen/NurPhoto via Getty Images)

Osimhen development: Al-Hilal agree to Napoli 75m demand

There might finally be a breakthrough for Victor Osimhen, as Al-Hilal reportedly agreed to pay Napoli the full €75m release clause and the Nigerian an eye-watering salary. The striker was sent out on loan to Galatasaray last summer when the transfer window closed for the top leagues and nobody was anywhere near reaching the asking price. This kind of wage proposal and the personal pressure from new Al-Hilal coach Simone Inzaghi has been enough to seemingly tip the striker towards accepting this move. Galatasaray too had tried to make an offer to keep him, though could not match the sheer financial power of the Saudi Pro League side. The 26-year-old scored 37 goals with eight assists in 41 competitive games for Galatasaray this season.
